One of my favorite grocery stores. For the most part they always have what I need in stock and the staff is usually friendly. I've ordered their fried chicken prepaid online one time chicken was very dry. Potatoes weren't good and the beans were overcooked. Lesson learned not to order food from there but their grocery selection is wonderful. Seafood is really good and fresh. They have the best produce in my opinion. I've never had a bad fruit or vegetable from here. Store layout makes it easy to locate items and they have plenty of parking outside. Great store!! read more

My wonderful wife's wedding bouquet was composed of stargazer lilies, which have become hard to find in recent years... so I have needed to get her other, similar lilies. Keeping in mind that Dierbergs is a little more expensive that it's competitor in the area this store always seems to be clean and well stocked. The employees rate a four out of five, sometimes a three out of find depending on who you have behind the counter and who you get at the cash register. Then again, those are pretty much the only two groups you interact with. The produce is always fresh, the proteins always seemed to be fresh, the deli seems to always be nice. We have an advantage because we live right there pretty much at the corner and it makes Dierbergs a huge convenience. That's about it! read more

I was shopping this morning with two small children. Trying to navigate down the water and soft beverages aisle I passed the "store director" who was leaning on a cart blocking half of the aisle with his leg stretched chatting with a non-store supervisor. Both made eye contact with me and didn't move and continued chatting and laughing. So I had to squeeze by them hoping not to knock anything over. If that wasn't bad enough I had to go back that way since there was someone stocking on the other end of the aisle. Same thing happened. There are plenty of choices for groceries in our area and Dierberg's is now at the bottom of my list. Being friendly and considerate costs a business nothing, and it starts with management. read more

Second time I had Bob's BBQ pulled pork they had big "chunks" of pork mixed in, wrong in my opinion, with some shredded meat, the way it should be. However, it was not as tender as I was hoping for this time. I also ordered the rib tips for the first time. They were the toughest, fattest, grisly pieces of pork I wish I never run into again anywhere, in my opinion. We tasted no pit smoke flavor (possibly liquid smoke) as far as I could tell. How it was prepared is not the point I wish to point out . It is the fact they were short of rendering the the fat and becoming tender by, I guess, 8 hours or so. I am reviewing only Dierberg's Lafayette Babyback Ribs. We buy these now all year round. They are the best in town! My husband is an excellent griller, but ever since we bought Dierberg's ribs, we don't grill them anymore. We bring them home, add a little water or beer, cover with foil & bake on 385 F for 1 1/2 hrs. They just fall off the bone! Their bbq sauce is also very good-much better than that overly-sweet Sweet Baby Rays (yuk!). We buy extra sauce for the side! Yum! read more

I love coming to this location. It's an easy layout, they have an aisle for deals ( which is nice when on a budget), and the employees are informative and kind! There are some things that are pricey but they do have some really nice deals throughout the store. read more

There have been a lot of upgrades to the store (Dierberg's is good about that) and there's even a Starbucks now. Best part is its January and the Sumo Mandarins are out. Dierbergs is my favorite grocery store in St. Louis. Their prices may be just a little higher than some other stores, but their quality and selection are second to none. The produce is always the best and I love the deli meats and cheeses. The prepared foods in the deli area are restaurant quality and ready to heat and eat. The meat in the meat department is excellent and the butcher is friendly and will answer preparation questions or cut meat just the way you like it. I like the bakery items too. They frequently have special sales on items you want throughout the store. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If I'm making an unusual recipe, I can always find the ingredients I need at Dierbergs. It's the best. read more

Saw on KC local news about how this store substituted alcohol for fresh foods and salad bar. Then you wonder why Saint Louis has the highest Covid rate in Missouri. I understand that the self serve salad bar is not a good plan, but can't you have salad combinations in to go boxes? That is what deli employees do. Shame on you Rodemacher. Who is being targeted with Covid...your obese and metabolically compromised folks. Alcohol is well known to contribute empty calories, heart disease, and most of all weaken the immune system. Strong immune system is going to be the best line of defense for Covid and you are not going to get that from alcohol. Immunity is about plant power. So you may want to rethink this Rick, and not have customers go through this pandemic fat, drunk and stupid. read more

I'm so frustrated! I normally would not shop at Dierbergs b/c they are so expensive. However, I noticed that they had more to choose from during this Covid situation, so I decided to try an online order. One problem is that, while shopping online, they only provide ingredient information for half of their items. This information is extremely important to see for people with food allergies. The next problem is that, after you spend an hour and half doing your 2 week online shopping AND input your credit card information, your order is not allowed to go through b/c delivery nor pick up is available. I completely understand that this is a time of unusual circumstances. I would've been happy to have been placed in a cue, or able to complete my order and then have them phone me with the upcoming availability. I would even be understanding about having to wait a few days. I have no problem shopping ahead of time. But none of these were options. My shopping cart, that I worked so hard on, was in limbo. I used the contact support link and was taken to a chat with Shipt, the service they use. After a complete 2 hours of waiting for an assistance to attend me, I gave up. It continually gave the messages: "Hello, we're experiencing a high volume of chats, with delays up to 40 minutes. Thanks for your patience. Connection Lost Waiting for agent..." I was trying to do the right thing by obeying recommendations and staying out of the stores. Oh, well. I guess I'll go to Schnucks now. read more

If I could separate the rating based on types of services I would, unfortunately I can't. 1-star = Quality of food. (except the sushi - Love the sushi) 2-star = Price (the prices are high) 5-star = Customer Service Currently the only reason I've given 3-stars, is simply because of the incredible level of service provided by cashiers, the meat department, the sushi girl, and the seafood department. If this review were to not include customer service it would be a 1-star. I have frequented this location several times simply because of the level of customer service, and the convenience of it's location. Unfortunately several times I've come home from grocery shopping only to discover I've just purchased expired food. Let me just say that one more time. EXPIRED FOOD. (I'm lucky if I've remembered to check the expiry before using it in a recipe.) The first time was Ricotta, which made me double check expiration dates on my next few trips. I even brought it to the attention of management as I had found expired milk in the cooler during one trip. The second time I ended up with expired sour cream... the third was Organic Dill Paste... then again with Pie Crust... and again with onions (there's no secret expiration date code on these - unfortunately a few times I purchased onions that seemed great on the outside, but were rotten on the inside). My shopping trips take a bit longer, as now I'm more diligent with checking expiration dates. I've tried a couple of the Dierbergs brand products (Butter & Cheddar Cheese), both of which I didn't enjoy the taste of, and will not purchase again. The store remodel is beautiful, the customer service absolutely incredible, parking sufficient, the smell of the meat smoker outside amazing, check-out line wait decent, but I really hope to see the quality of the food increased. read more

I have shopped at this Dierberg's for 20+ years. The staff is great and they have always been very pleasant and helpful. Some of the recently made 'pandemic' related changes seem ridiculous. The checkers now have to also bag the groceries!! Not only is this NOT their job (they already work hard enough and have been constantly on the front line during this pandemic), it really slows things down. It takes longer to checkout then it does to shop!! And I have been told that they often receive nasty comments from customers for taking too long to check people out - not their fault!! Please return to having some baggers available for the checkers, demonstrating some respect and concern for the well-being of your checkers and improving your efforts to satisfy your customers. While a little pricey they have a selection. They have a lot of the items I and my sister would buy at While Foods so it's nice for when she comes to visit. The produce by far looked better than Schnucks and if you are careful and look for coupons you will be ok. I do love the app and especially how it tells you where to go (I had to use it in the store because I couldn't find PB lol). This feature would be great for spouses who don't normally go to the store. I don't like that for delivery you have to sign up for a separate service with a fee. We lived where there was HyVee and they only delivered in a 10mile radius but it was free over $100. Overall I would say this is my 1 stop shopping and will continue to frequent. read more

I absolutely fell in love w this particular Dierbergs upon entering. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the music playing in the background was soothing. I felt at ease as I shopped and spent a nice amount of time exploring the store and found some great deals. Upon leaving I stopped by the Starbucks located on the inside and then soon headed out. My Mother and I visited this location today, unfortunately, our experience was not up to our normal expectations of a friendly and helpful staff. My Mother normally shops at the Clarkson and Baxter location, for the last 15 yrs, since living in Chesterfield. We used to live in Des Peres, at that time we frequented this location on Manchester and Baxter Rd. We were not impressed. My Mother had surgery around 2 mints ago and is on a walker, she likes to walk and I go with her to shop. We went to the deli, after we picked up some grapes and a lady by the name of Holly, waited on us. She was not only very unfriendly, but even rolled her eyes during the time she helped us. My Mother took her time deciding, but purchased many things from the deli. I noticed as we left, a smile came on her face when we left and she was joking around with coworkers. I think if she had been even half as friendly with my Mother and I, it would have been nice if she would have at least smiled and been friendly with us too. I think we will continue to go to Clarkson and Baxter, however, maybe you could speak to your staff at this location and let them know that the attitude should be more happy and helpful. Customer Service is part of what keeps you in business. I have owned my own business and this is not acceptable. read more

This Dierbergs is a bit older than most but still is a fine store. The signage over the aisles needs some updating but other areas of the store are nice. The party center is pretty expansive as well as the deli. I never have any issues with the selection but I just do normal shopping. read more

Dierberg's might be a moderate-priced store, but it has the freshest Produce in town. The Meat and Deli selections are fresh and good too. I go out of my way for their fresh food selection. Way better than Schnucks or Aldi. read more

I frequent this Dierbergs several times a year and their Florist department never disappoints. They always have a great selection of flowers and are ready to prepare them however you might need them. Supervisor lady was very rude. Talked in a demeaning manor as if she didn't want to assist customers and as if I was lying when I went to return a salad kit that was brown and slimy despite being purchased from the store not but two hours before. She claimed it would take up to 15 mins to help me with a return despite it being later at night and the store virtually empty. When we approached her for help she was doing nothing but standing there. Not to mention that the prices are high and the selection being minimal. read more

Prices here seem to run about 150% of nearby options. They are also almost always are out of some basic item on my list.

They have the best sushi I have ever purchased from a grocery store! Seriously the woman they have working the sushi section is awesome, she is super friendly and willing to accommodate to make you what you want! Their "whole foods" section is a bit pricier than necessary. read more

Truthfully, I feel very frustrated with this location. There are never enough lines open, and I constantly wind up in the self checkout. I don't appreciate having to check myself out, or wait in long lines when I'm paying an arm and a leg for groceries. If that's the case, then I might as well go to Shop-n-Save or Aldi's. Also, the meat counter closes at 10 pm, yet they cover all the fish by 8 or 9 pm, and then act like it's an inconvenience when I want salmon. Not happy. read more
