Overall good experience. We were seated promptly and the server was kind. The pork osso bucco, which I got because of the many positive reviews on Yelp, was indeed good, but not stellar. The meat was super tender, it fell off the bone, but the dark sauce was a bit too overpowering to me. Very good nonetheless. The steak fajitas were very good, the steak itself was just ok, but the overall experience was very good. The flan was just ok, but I realize that South American style flan might be a bit different to what I'm used to, which is Japanese style purin or European style crème caramel. This flan was denser and more thoroughly cooked than the flan I'm used to. The food was delicious. Especially the chicken enchilada and the beef chimichanga. It was busy and a known popular restaurant. There certainly an eclectic mix of people dining. It may have been a particularly busy night yet the staff were very attentive, and absolutely lovely. That being said, as an artist myself, the artwork was terrible and needs to be remedied. I must have missed the "price warning" sign that hung as you walk in, so, yes, I was a little surprised by the prices considering Redmond is a smaller town with lots of competing Mexican restaurants. However, the food and service was good - so I can't complain. I ordered the seafood soup and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of actual seafood that was in it. Two large fillets of cod, a few large scallops, fresh meaty shrimp, etc. My only wish was that the server and the menu more clearly understand what is gluten free. My husband is a celiac and usually an upscale seafood and steak serving type of establishment will have some some to eat dishes (yes, we understand that the kitchen isn't dedicated... but it's usually not to hard to clean space on the grill for some simple veggies and a protein). My husband skipped ordering bc our server had to check with the kitchen which meals were GF... only to offer some fish tacos that were obviously served after the rest of our meal. You know what? They were OPEN! AND I WAS STARVING! I read all the reviews of this place and had to try it. I sat outside and the temperature was about 47 degrees but with the heaters and being covered with plastic clear tarp it was comfortable. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he gave me about 8. I went with the Seafood Penne Pasta with Alfredo sauce. Presentation was great and it tasted good. My only complaint would be the sauce had far too much butter. If the sauce had 50% less butter it would have been great. I can say there was plenty of seafood in the dish (shrimp, crab, halibut, and lobster). On a side note the chips were warm and slightly on the thicker side and the salsa had just the right amount of heat. If I could give a 4.5, that is my true rating. read more

AMAZING! This is now our favorite restaurant in Central Oregon. The Carne Asada was easily the best I have ever had as was the refried beans. The Ceviche was also the best I had ever had and even better than my own. They add avacados to it and it really adds a great flavor and the shrimp is seasoned just right in it. This restaurant is one of the best I've been to. Authentic food, amazing service, great location in old town. We started with a Lava Flow drink and then ordered guacamoles fresco. They make the guacamole in front of you and to your liking. Everything was amazing and we just wish we had bigger stomachs to enjoy all the deliciousness. I love a good ceviche. They started with chips and salsa. The chips were bland and the salsa overly salted (guess they balance each other out), but the ceviche was beyond hope. Portion size was very small for its price point, and the shrimp was distasteful. It tasted like frozen shrimp that was rinsed and put on the plate. Man oh man, this place is not good. First of all, the food is very boring. Nothing too much to set it apart. Then, the pricing is RIDICULOUS! I still cannot get over how much money we spent here for our food. A glass of really average wine was $10. Our appetizer tacos (2) were $15. That's more than downtown Bend, where the rent far exceeds what this place must have to pay! I heard that Diego's used to be a lot cheaper and then raised their prices by a large margin. Whether that's the truth or not, I'm not sure. But I can tell you that I will likely not be back to this place unless I left my jacket there or something. Then, on top of the food, they have a patio that is accessible from the back and still won't allow dogs. Ugh. Our server was very nice, which was about the only redeeming factor of this place.
