We came in here to find some equipment and from the website and availability showed it was in stock. Unfortunately, when we got there it wasn't. We asked one of the employees who was working in tne area and he was very rude and short in his responses. The other employee was not at all nice either both standing together. If I could give zero I would. Purchased something with a visa gift card. when I went to return the said I can only have store gift card. No return policy not posted in store. Bad business. They are holding my money hostage and strong arming me to buy something from them. I asked customer service to call the store and speak to the manager and see if there was a work around. If I could rate 0 stars I would. I just want to say for anyone working here reading this.. working under Paul that supervisor / manager that's currently there, I feel terribly sorry for you. He's the most disrespectful person I've encountered there and he's in upper management. The way he talks to people is SO belittling I couldn't even believe what I was hearing and how I was being spoken to. Also if you're looking for a job there or know anyone looking to work here. RUN AWAY. Tell them to look literally anywhere else. They don't look into applications at all, I put two and two together because he got this annoyed/ "are you kidding" look when I said I'm available 7am-5pm (sorry I actually have other important things going on in my life buddy. (But if he had looked into the application he would have seen that already.) He also tried asking questions not relevant to the interview trying to be a smart ass and sound belittling. He's a miserable guy. I'm here for a job not to answer smart ass questions. He had this gasp look when I told him how much I'd like for starting pay and that was when he realized he didn't want to waste any more of either of our time. There is truly no one better than Drew from the golf department. He helped me find out what was wrong with my driver, and what club was best for me. His communication skills and care for each player's game is outstanding. I would highly recommend talking to Drew, when it comes to customer satisfaction, he is the best. read more

Hey rude people from Dicks who are the worst at customer service! You guys didn't help at all. Very rude to laugh at a customers face when we mention that a ping pong table will fit in a van and not always do you need a pick up truck. Anyways, guess what you idiots who said you know better than us. We ended up going to the other Dicks and the ping pong table fit perfect! We had amazing people help us. Pretty decent selections for a Dick's. It was opening weekend so obviously there was a long line but all registers were open and working. Very helpful staff. The only real negative is there selection of North Face and Columbia gear. They could definitely add more stock on those brands but all in all a good store. read more

Totally pissed right now. I'm sitting in Dick's parking lot as i type this. I was in the store at 1pm. The manager was at the front of the store handing out door buster flyers. Not once did he say that the sale ends in an hour. Wanted a rifle but looked at other things first because you cant carry around a rifle in the store. Spent about an hour in the store shopping. Get to the checkout, pay for the items, take them out to the car, and go back in to get the rifle. Whoa and behold, it is after 2. They won't honor the price. What a bunch of crap. Went to get something to help with the pronation in my feet. I was sent to the back for help. A nice, patient worker named Dustin in the footwear department was already there, waiting to help me. That had to be the best customer service I have ever had in the retail department! He was extremely helpful, answered every question I had, very polite, and knew his stuff! Didn't try to pressure any sales on me, but actually helped me and gave me options with what would help me the most! I hope he gets a promotion, he deserves it read more

My son started working for Dick's Sporting Goods while a student at UNC-Wilmington. He continued to work for Dick's after graduation and had become a manager for the new store in Wilmington. In April, several unsupervised juveniles entered the store and were kicking and throwing balls and doing other things that were inappropriate. My son, as well as at least one other team member, asked the juveniles to stop. When they exited the store, they continued to display behavior just outside the doors that was unsafe. My son went out the doors to again ask them to leave the area. One child's mother came out of the store next door and saw the exchange. Again, she was not in Dick's with her juvenile child. She and said juvenile went home and spoke with the father, who was also NOT in the store with the juvenile. Four months later, the father sends an email to corporate headquarters. When store management was contacted, they supported my son and his actions towards the disruptive juveniles. Since the father waited four months, store video that would verify how the unsupervised juveniles were misbehaving was no longer available. Did upper management support a long time, loyal employee? No. My son was let go for trying to protect the assets of a store he managed. I find it very difficult to support a company that "lets go" a manager based upon an email from a man who was not even in the store with his misbehaving juvenile child. read more
