Pretty Solid Dick's Sporting Goods Store over here with a decent amount of stocked inventory. They had everything that I was looking for including my favorite Merrell Moab Hiking Boots and some other things that caught my eye which ended up getting tossed in my cart.   To tell you the truth, I could hang out in these types of stores all day long with their Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Outdoor Apparel and Local Sports Team stuff, no problem. Dicks that has hunting and fishing licenses you can buy, but the counter for that at the front doesn't let you pay, you have to wait in the long line for other purchases. It'd be more efficient if they had a pay station there too for the licenses. That was the more annoying part, the long line to pay after the license is printed. Store has plenty of mountain and all terrain bikes but not a lot of road or cycling versions. And their prices are high for gear like pfds, with limited choices on brands. However they do have a nice set of fishing rods to choose from. Would I get other gear here? Maybe, they have a lot of the sports covered and quality seems good, but I wouldn't be able to speak to most other sports. read more

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer's mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. I'm feeling surprised I'm the one to even add this place on Yelp and glad to be the FTR. We had few shorts that had to be returned for oversize and went to this location. We used this to look for some new shorts and badminton rackets. They have a nice collection of everything that ranges from sports wears, shoes, sporting goods that includes indoor and outdoor games. The place is vast and has social distancing enforced. They have hand sanitizers at the entrance for customers. The staff wear masks and are highly courteous. The checkout was a cakewalk and was hassle free. read more

Bought a bike a month ago for my daughter. The hand brake already broke. I brought it in after corporate told my wife it would be fixed for free. Then I'm told there might be a charge and that someone would call me to confirm the next business day. No call. I rang the store multiple times. One person picked up and said they would transfer me. nobody picked up. I called back multiple times and no one would even have the courtesy to pick up the phone read more

It's funny how they turned off reviews on Google...the brand has gotten very frustrating in store. They took all sneakers and cleats and put them in the back so you need to track down a sales associate to get what you need. This weekend there were about 20 people trying to get cleats and it was a mess. I eventually gave up and ordered on Amazon. Store looks really nice but the customer service experience is now horrible so wouldn't recommend unless you have a lot of time to waste or you go at random hours and hope you can find someone to help. read more

It's so sad that people have to be so rude when being kind is much easier! Very sad experience with the cashier manager just when I was about to leave the store feeling accomplished with my purchase. The manager made a sour comment about my "reason for being at "her store"..RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!..I didn't give her the satisfaction of showing her how her comment made me feel. I ignored her and turned to post about it on here. I want to thank the great staff at the Dick Sporting goods store, located in Union New Jersey . My journey began with meeting Heidi one of the managers. She was awesome , she seemed genuinely concerned about my needs and noted and explained to me the procedure in which my order was canceled. I explained to her that I was stressed out because I didn't receive the cancelled order until I drove into the lot after driving 35 miles. Heidi was empathetic and ensured me that I can Find similar items at her store. And that I did . we walked over and found some items that I was looking to purchase that were canceled online. Shortly after Heidi referred me to one of her diligent staff members over in the sneaker department, I believe her name was Natalie. Natalie was very patient and took her time with my concerns .she also understood my situation as I needed these items today .I continued to go to the checkout counter. Once at the checkout counter I noticed that I still had to pick up another order at a store 30 minutes away . Unfortunately there was not enough time for me to get there. And that's when I met Bryson. Bryson was great, . he attended to my needs he was epithetic towards my situation. Bryson took it upon himself to call the other store and cancel the order ,as I wasn't able to get thru on my phone. This superior awesome staff made my night and I was able to keep my word to my son about getting his equipment. I want to highlight this location at Union New Jersey for their caring dedicated hard working staff. I implore for the store manager to promote each of these individuals mentioned above as they not only treated me like a 5 star customer but they also treated everyone that was around me as 5 star customers if you leave it up to me , promotions for everybody. Let's get right into it . I placed an in store pick up order at 11:00 am this morning. I currently teach soccer and needed a few cones for my lesson today at 3 pm. I received an email stating my order was ready for pickup at 12:15. I live 1 hour away from this location!!! I get to store at 2:10 pm and my order isn't even available . The supposed manager JOHN ( this is what is put on the paper just JOHN, I asked another associate what his last name was but I forgot. It either starts with a P or a T but anyway) he told me " someone must've messed up we was about to give you a call." When the fuck was you going to call me, it's been 2 hours since my order has been ready. I stated to JOHN that this is extremely unacceptable I drove an hour to get here for you not even to give the courtesy of a call !!! They could've canceled the order. They could have did something !!! He proceeded to show me what they had in stock. What he showed me was no where near what I ordered. I don't understand how you can completely fuck up someone order like this. The cones were 2 completely different sizes and shapes. Then JOHN says " I'm trying to work with you and order from another store but you need them today." Mind you the next nearest location to this one is another 30-45 minutes away. Not only did I waste my gas, I frantically had to find what I needed to be able to teach my class which started in 45 minutes. JOHN IS THE WORST MANAGER EVER!!! I'm really disgusted how he handled this issue. If you allow " someone must have messed up" and " I'm trying to work with you and order from another store but you need them today." as an acceptable answer to inconveniencing the hell out your customers, then you need to go !! read more

Customer is pretty non-existant here. I'm a first time sports mkm and we are gearing up for soccer. I asked for some help with finding childrens soccer cleats. Cool. So I was lead to the section annd did a bit of browsing. Next thing I knew he was gone. Not an inkling of, 'If you need help blah blah blah' he just disappeared. He was kinda young, but that does not dismiss the fact that he works at a store, and I am a customer that needs assistance... Then when I needed to look for shin guards and socks, the store was a ghost town. I was just walking around aimlessly until I found the section on my own. It's a fairly large DSG, at least larger than the ones I've seen thus far. I probably went at a better time, but most items seems to be organized and on the racks or shelf. There's a solid selection of athletic clothing, golf equipment, baseball gear, and other sporting goods. Most of the major brands and common items can be found. The employees, for the most part, are alright. Yes, some of them do huddle up and chat but I was kindly greeted when I walked in. I'm only giving three stars since their inventory of barbells, punching bags, and MMA training bags are pretty limited. Basic things like hand wraps were limited in color, brand, and length; the only ones I saw were 108" pink Everlast wraps. In fact, I'll actually blame the DSG website as it suggested that a particular item I was looking for was in-stock at this particular location. Perhaps the staff here doesn't update the information online as I did not see what was listed online for their store. I found a similar product of the same brand, but outside of that, it's the same ol' brands you could find elsewhere. Perhaps if they added more products and brands, I'd shop here more. For now, I'll probably just order online and select in-store pick up. On a side note, I found a Checkers branch hiding behind tall trees and shrubs as I drove past the turn to their entrance on US-22! read more

Thoroughly unpleasant, unhelpful liars. I'm going on a camping trip soon in upstate NY so I need bear spray. None of the stores near me had any, and The Dick's website said they had bear spray available at this location, which is over an hour away from my home. When I called ahead to try to have one reserved for me, the woman on the phone said she would be happy to. Fast forward an hour of driving, thirty minutes waiting at the checkout line, and another ten minutes of the cashier trying to find someone who knew anything about it, I am told that it is illegal to sell bear spray in the state of New Jersey. I told the cashier that the Dick's website said it was available at this location, and his response was, and I quote, "it may be available, but we don't sell it". How does that make any sense? So the website was wrong, the woman on the phone lied, and because I did not think to take her name, no one could find her. Isn't that wonderful. So much time wasted. The camping section is also abysmally small for a store of this size. There is plenty of Lacrosse, Soccer, Football, Baseball and Archery equipment, as well as a fair selection of athletic gear, but next to nothing for camping or watersports. Never shopping here, or any other Dick's every again. Not as long as the website contains incorrect information. read more

I love this store. Their golf section is pretty huge and diverse and there is even an area to try out some of the clubs as well as a mini putting matt. The rest of the store carries all the athletic apparel and gear you may need for just about anything. read more

I've never been to this store before but I needed some hiking pants and boots. The layout of the store plus the large section banners allowed me to spot the Outoors section immediately. I found a name brand pair of hiking pants and almost walked away but randomly spotted a different pair for $20 less under the brand name Field & Stream (I assumed this was just a budget brand that they carry but I now realize that it is actually Dick's own brand). As for boots, their selection was maybe only 1/3rd of what DSW carried, yet I couldn't find a pair at DSW that I liked. It seemed to me that Dick's was only carrying the best of the best because every pair I tried on felt better than what I had tried on at DSW. I tried on a Field & Stream brand pair but I didn't like the style plus the name brands weren't much pricier. I decided to check out the binoculars while I was there and although the selection was VERY small, I saw some reputable brands (Leupold and Nikon). During my time in the store I asked 3 different sales associates for help and they were all able to assist me, even though they looked extremely busy. Negatives: Some of the aisles are narrow (only a problem when the store is crowded). Outdoor clothing section was somewhat disorganized. I also noticed on the inside of some shirts (near the collar) there were ink spots, probably had something to do with the security tabs. The spots were small, but if you're paying $35 to $50 for a shirt you'll want to check for that especially if it's visible from the outside. Overall I had a great experience here and I'll definitely be back. read more

Customer service in the store was bad. They wouldn't let me return a product and on top of that i called up ahead of time to find out what time to come in to talk to someone in the archery dept and i came the next day at the time that was discussed and the person was not there. what a waste of time. luckily Dicks online and phone customer support is top notch. They paid for the shipping for me to return the product no questions asked. very polite and helpful. that's why i am giving this 3 stars as the customers service on the phone is above average yet the in store service was bad. I consider myself a very patient man. I understand that sometimes there are delays in life. However when I'm in a store waiting for a sales associate to help me with what I came there for AND the store is nowhere near busy AND I'm standing around waiting for 25 minutes before I get what I needed, that patient side of me turns into a very angry Hulk. You think that Dick's store colors are green? You should have seen me that day--I was evergreen! Long story short I was at this particular Dick's to pick up an online order that was placed the day before. This was not my first time picking up an online order so I already knew the whole process. This was however my first time picking up from this location. Quite frankly this will be my LAST! I had gone to the kiosk and followed through the prompts to alert the store that I was there to pick up my stuff. I waited for a good 10 minutes before I grabbed an associate from the register (since there was nobody around on the floor to call) and they brushed me off saying someone will be there to help me. I waited another 10 minutes and by this time I was already getting upset. There were very few customers at the register so I didn't understand why my order was not being brought out. I waited another 5 minutes before I lost it and finally they brought my order out. To top it off the associate that brought it out had no idea how to complete the transaction on the kiosk and had ME guide him through it. As soon as I left the store I contacted their corporate customer service directly to report the whole incident. I just hope they pass it on to the store manager and maybe he can train the staff on customer service. Maybe. read more

I purchased a package of 2 golf gloves. They were labeled 19.95. However the computer charged me $21.95. When I pointed it out to the salesperson he refunded the $2 to my credit card. However when I said, what are you going to do to make sure the next customer doesn't experience the same mistake he was totally uninterested in trying to correct the problem. I usually do not write reviews. I was here today to get some football equipment for my son. I had a coupon for competitor from my sons football team. I went there yesterday to get the equipment with the coupon. They said the coupon was not good till 8/15, Im like I need cleats and equipment now what good is it to me then. Well they did not even have the Rib protector shell ,So I left and they lost me as a customer for good. I was helped out by El-Hajj. He went out of his way to order the cleats I needed and have them shipped free to my house. He also suggested to sign up for the Dicks Sporting goods credit card for $10 coupons for shopping in store. I wish more stores would hire employees like El-Hajj. This store is very poorly operated. I was excited to shop there since I had great experiences at the one in woodbridge. Each time I have been there I have waited in line longer than it should have taken and it was not crowded. I spoke to the manager about properly training his staff at the cashier register and he was pleasant about it, but nothing has changed. One time they left the security tag on a piece of clothing for me so I had to go back. As I stood in line longer than I needed to, the cashier took the tag off and did not apologize for any inconvenience this caused me to drive all the way back. Recently, I bought a tred mill there. The cashier was so poorly trained. She made about 20 errors in adding it up. After waiting 30 minutes for her ring me up, I found out later she charged me twice for the item as noted on my credit card. I went to the store to explain my issue. The young assistant manager was useless. I asked to speak to the store manager and he would not come out to see me. I was shocked the manager would not come out. What kind of manager is this when they can not address a major issue as being charged twice for an item? I am very disappointed about this store. I will never shop there again. I have never had these issues at sports authority. read more
