Dick's sporting goods has a good selection of equipment for all your sporting needs. I find them to be a bit pricey and service can be spotty at times. The only department that I have been consistently offered help in is the shoe department. Otherwise, it seems you are on your own. The selection is good. The quality of the items is very good, but their prices are high. I usually only go here if I can't find the equipment we need someplace else for less. They do have volleyball shoes for my daughter, but if you want colors that match the uniform, you'll have to order from a specialty retailer. I find their clothing to be especially expensive. Luckily, I can get certain items like polyester athletic shirts that wick away sweat equally well for a fraction of the price at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart. I think Dick's should offer a better bike selection and some higher end brands. Since there are no bike shops around Parma anymore, Dicks's and Wal-Mart are the only shops that sell bikes. Wal-Mart sells low end bikes, which leaves you with Dick's as the only option for a moderately priced bike in the neighborhood. However, if I'm buying a bike, I'm probably going to make the trip to a nearby bike shop anyway, to ensure I get a quality bike. The Diamondback brand they carry isn't exactly the best quality bicycle on the market. The store is usually spotless so cleanliness isn't an issue. They do mark down team apparel items at times. I am in their rewards program, but I never seem to receive coupons when I need them. Therefore, I have almost never been able to use a coupon to buy something. This is mainly due to the coupons expiring. Why can't they just keep a running rewards balance and apply it to my next purchase like Sears and Kmart? I ordered 4 rolls of athletic tape today. I ordered online and had all the information under my husband so that way he can pick it up while I was working. Let me start off with I Have spent lots of money at dicks over the years with my son playing football. I always do online pick up pretty much. I'm a fulltime working mom and a sports mom.. never have time to take the time to shop in the store. NOT ONCE has anyone EVER asked for my confirmation number or ID. The one time I send my husband to pick up the order which was under his name and I send him the confirmation number they refused to give him the order even with the confirmation number all because he didn't have his ID. After arguing with him, my husband said forget it I'll go in the store and buy it. The lady was a complete Snot and said o well that's all we have. My husband got frustrated and angry and told them to forget it and walked out. I called the store and the manager told me that they won't give anyone a order without and ID. He said people were stealing, I was very stern and said I never been asked for it. He then told me I guess we will make you happy send him back up but I'll get written up for giving it to him with out it. Really?! Wow. So after work and after my sons football practice I drove up checked in mind you it was not in my name but my husbands they walked out and said what's the last name? Told them and they handed it to me without asking for any ID or even i wasn't as a pick up person!!! They are a joke and the attitude we were given and out right was lied to ... Shopped for athletic shoes at this location. Took a while to get help. Once acknowledged, the shoe section worker was very unprofessional and lacked basic knowledge of footwear. Then, he disappeared. We left the store without any further assistance. Don't recommend. Waste of time and upsetting. read more

This is the same store that's been there for years, but they rearranged the entrances to only be on the Ridgewood Drive side. Good location and I'm sure business will pick up once the Shoppes at Parma open. Overall, standard sporting goods store. A little pricey, but there's always coupons you should search for online. No staff. This has always been a problem. Have to wait 10-15 minutes for a dressing room to be unlocked. Even then I usually have to go find an employee or call the store (while standing in it!) to have them send someone over. I've implemented a ten minute limit to how long I'll wait then I walk out. It's not worth the frustration, and the store clearly doesn't want my business. read more

I had encounter with a couple of workers at this location. Back in August my boyfriend and I went there to pick him up a driver for his golf event the next day. We walk in and the worker who was standing there did not even say one thing to us as we walked in. As we walked over to the golf section there was one man working, but he was busy with someone else. So we waited until he done, when the man was done helping the other person out we went up to him and just to say the least he was rude from the start! We were asking questions and he just started giving us an attitude from the start. We played it off and continued to shop. After we purchased the driver we drove back home which is a 30 minute drive to the driving range. Less than three balls in it snapped in half (the head of the driver). We were upset, but it was not Dicks Sporting Good fault that it happened. We called them to tell them what happened and they just told us to come back and they will refund us or give us a new one. Which again was another 30 minute drive back. When we walked in again no one even looked at us. We went straight back to the golf section again and were told to wait for someone to get there. As we waited a total of 15-20 minutes I was getting very frustrated and really upset. Many of the workers were looking at us and no seemed to care that we were waiting. I had enough and pushed the button for help, the same worker that came last time was back. Again, being very rude and stand-offish. We were asking if there was any other drivers within the price range of the last one, but unfortunately there was not. No big deal, but the worker proceeds to tell us that "he's driver has never broken in the 5 years he's had it". It was funny because the date on the driver was from 2018. I could be wrong, because i'm not sure if there is another version of it, but that was the last straw. He then proceeds AGAIN to walk away from us as we were taking to him. I had it at that point so we got our money and left. I called that same day to corporate and told them everything. The next day the manager I believe from the one in Parma called me and again I told him everything and he said he talked to his workers to get the story. It's funny that the guy that helped us even said he remember us!! The manager or whoever I spoke to said that he will send me a gift card for the problem that happened. It has now been 2 months and still received nothing. I told him on the phone I was not looking for anything in return, but wanted to tell him that the workers there are rude. I do not care if we are young adults!! We were nice from the start and then to be treated the way we were treated was unbelievable! I will not be returning to that Dicks Sporting Goods in Parma ever again because of the way this has all been handle. I have also talked to other friends and family members of mine and they said the staff is rude besides one young man!! read more
