The new store is AWESOME! Across the road from the old store. Twice as big, twice as nice.

With the lack of good pizza options in the area, I found this place on Apple Maps and thought I'd…read moregive it a try. It is, in fact, a tiny "general store" that is inconspicuous and easily missed. It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

So good we went here twice! I'm jealous that this exists so many hundreds of miles away from my…read morehome. It was Canadian wildfire smoke day when we first arrived, we're talking worst air quality in the world, so we tried to find indoor things to do naturally. We dined in here with sparkling water, fresh sandwiches, and even rolled out with some gnocchi and pesto for dinner back at the AirBNB. My egg salad sandwich (classic egg salad (hard boiled egg, red onion, capers, dill pickle, mayo + sriracha, local lettuce on toasted dutch crunch) may've been the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had. The only caveat: I haven't really eaten that many egg salad sandwiches. But it was still the best! Bonus, this was during a season where packaged lettuce was on recall but their greens are fresh and local baby. We even did a to-go order on the road trip out of town to dodge fast food, and I ended up with their turkey wrap (oven roast local turkey breast, Michigan white cheddar, local lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, microgreens, sriracha mayo, spinach wrap) which was also very good. Great chip options, great drinks, and really nice people and good energy in here. Love this spot and can't wait to return.

The peach granola bar is fine. No sandwich is worth an hour wait. Service was friendly even though they were stressed. The person in front of me was super demanding ("I need my gluten free sandwich CUT IN HALF" and "Oh why isn't that dessert gluten free, it would be easy to make it gluten free") and they handled her with kindness.

We were sat right away at what we thought was the best table in the place - back corner where we could see everything. We liked that the booth was elevated so we had a great view of the stage for when the artist came back from a break. Our and a server brought us water when bringing menus - which I appreciate. We ordered cocktails, he had the smoked old fashioned. He said it was the best one he'd had in a long time. I had the blueberry lavender Collins it was quite refreshing. To eat we had the Baked Feta to start. It was interesting, it was cubed instead of whipped or somehow smoother. A little hard to explain. The halved cherry tomatoes and cloves of roasted garlic made it for me. The feta was warm, but it didn't really spread. Adding the tomatoes completely changed the overall flavor. They were a little sweet and paired nicely with the sharp tang of the feta. We also split the Dune sandwich. Big fans! The turkey was warm, the focaccia was light and fluffy. Served with a pile of kettle chips. The music was a man and his guitar. A one man show of sorts, he was great. We had a great experience and we will go again, for sure. We want to try the flatbread next time!

We ordered a couple sandwiches and flatbreads from here to go yesterday. Seemed to be light on the meat (i.e. not much turkey or chicken respectively) and too heavy on the sauce (mayo, mustard, etc.) so much that the sandwiches were dripping sauce. Looks like they have a nice backyard bar with music, but if you're looking for sandwiches - I'd pass.
