I've been going to Dick's Boat Shop for 15 years now and they have always taken amazing care of me and my Yamaha waverunners. I purchased my waverunners through them as well. In those instances when I've managed to create a problem with the Yamaha myself, they have found a way to correct the problem. I know that they want me to enjoy these waverunners for as long as I can and I hope to keep seeing them year after year. read more

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value Screwed and assaulted by dicks boat shop owner! Plus scam alert! I'm a 100 % disabled Marine Corps veteran. Please heed my warning I always tell the truth Even if I had done something wrong I would tell on my self. It's a honor thing. motor ran well when dropped off. Said they did work that they didn't do, And I have documentation to prove it was done just over a month before they received it for a sticky Handel problem. Brought a motor in for a Handel adjustment cause it was just a little stiff. The whole thing was freshly rebuilt by a engine shop a little over a month before I dropped it off with only 30 min of usage during that time. It ran well just has a stiff throttle Handel. I was never called to be told the problem. A little over three weeks later I called and was told it was a follower and a fuel pump due to being very worn. I just had a new fuel pump insatelled carburator rebuilt and tuned up. And new lines put in witch I have paid bills for. They said they would look deeper into and call me back Another week and a half goes by. They never called me back. I called them and they told me they the newly rebuilt carburator was broken and they tried to GLUE it . Also told me they did all the work that was just done by the engine shop! I went in to talk to them per their request. I was taken into the back. Where they completely Tron down my carb and half the intake with out any other approval . Then they told me that they had found the problem a broken carburator part witch they tried to glue back together. I told them they where liars and cheats They broke parts torn things apart and glued things all with out any notification. I told them I was taking what was left of my things and I was going to leave. I went to the motor and started to unhook it from the stand. Then the owner ran over grabbed the motor and me as I was trying to pick it up and turn around to leave. Then I was hit repeatedly with and engine stand Cutting my hand and made a dark bruise on my leg. I tried walking to my car with my motor and he began pushing and hitting me leaving several large scraps a cut and more bruises and at times almost knocking me over while carrying my heavy motor. I finally made to my car after being hit about 20 times and shoved and pushed as I was carrying my property out of their place leaving multiple scraps cuts and bruises. As I was loading it in my car they ran out with a gun case and started to unzip it. Super scary!! I then jumped in my car a left as fast as fast as I could drove to the police station and made a police report. Stay away from this place. They lie cheat and steal. Say the did work they didn't do and say things are broken that where not. I urge you to look at the other one star reviews. There is a history or lieing agrassive actions And Charging for work they didn't do over and over. They normally tear down motors with out permission and the try to force the customer to pay or leave there property or take it in parts because they won't put it back together unless you pay them to. Horrible horrible place. I will never return and you should steer clear! Charges are currently under review by the District attorney read more

i used them once for boat repair and i will never use them again. they do not care about the customer that needs service. i suppose if you are going to buy something new they will treat you right though. but if you need service go somewhere else. I'll update my review for clarity. I took my boat in to be worked on. The OB seemed like it was misfiring. A couple weeks later they said they found a bad gasket and replaced it. Took it out and it had the ignition problem still. Took it back to Dicks and the said the we're sorry and would move me to the top of the list and make it right. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing I called and asked the status. I was told they are looking at it. I said I would just come and pick it up. I was frustrated and boating season was about over. So, when I got there they told me my boat was in their outdoor storage lot a few blocks away. They hadn't looked at it at all. I wasn't moved to the top of the list. When I got to the lot my boat was full of leaves from the trees. It had obviously been sitting there since day one. Forgot to add. They charged me $800 to fix the gasket and didn't fix the problem I brought it in for. Pathetic. read more

The name of this shop is very fitting. Dick the owner has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. He is condescending, he has no clue about service. He is extremely arrogant and in the future he better think twice about how he talks to people. If your thinking of going here save yourself some time and money. Dick doesn't stand behind his products, even worse he makes excuses then refuses to own up to his mistakes. HORRIBLE! read more

By far the best customer service of all of the boat shops I have been to on the Wasatch Front. I go out of my way from North Salt Lake to get my boat needs from Dick's. They have never given me the cold shoulder or have never acted like they were too busy for me or my boat needs. They are a family ran business that is busy and willing to help me on my boating questions! I highly recommend them. There counter is always busy and that speaks volume for the service they provide. Thank you guys for the tidbits Everytime I come in. read more

Stopped in today, to ask a very simple simple question. The person at the sales counter was on the phone. Barely even acknowledged that I had walked in, or let alone walked up to the counter needing assistance. He ducked down around the counter, talking quietly on the phone. I walked away pretending to look at things around the store in order to give him the privacy he apparently needed. After 10 minutes, I left. He was still on the phone. I was the ONLY customer in the store by the way. If you don't have time or the decency to even acknowledge me, I'm out. Take my business elsewhere. read more

Worst ever... Sorry to say never again and it hurts for me to leave this review. My boat is now getting the necessary repairs it needs at a different dealership. I basically paid $1500 for a prop repair. The rest??? Well it was just to hard for them to properly see what was wrong so they did a terrible fix on my problem hoping it was enough. read more

I bought a small trolling Yamaha from another dealer and it never seemed to work right as far as idling went. Someone told me the carburetor was set for sea level. I tried a couple times to get the problem resolved from the dealer of original purchase. Took my motor to Dick's and they confirmed the altitude thing and suggested a different prop would spin faster and not increase the speed for trolling and allow me ti run at a slightly higher RPM. Magic! I was able to troll for the first time without the engine constantly stalling. Guess where my next Yamaha is coming from? Thanks Dick's! read more

They will take it upon themselves to do work that you didn't ask for and won't clear it with you 1st. Then, expect you to pay for the services they did that you said you'd do yourself. Ended up leaving with a bill 5x higher than what was originally discussed. They weren't even related to the same job. AND they never bothered to call me anyhow to say it was done after 2 months! This shop is very unprofessional & shady. IT EVEN SAYS ON MY RECIPT TO CALL FOR ANY EXTRA WORK! I can't get them to do that or even call me to pick it up. I won't ever recommend these crooks. I would go ANYWHERE but here. read more
