Mother fell today 06/17/2026, rug was rolled up and time approx was 640pm. Workers there pointed at one another. No other talk about her incident. Order also had no green onions or sour cream or cheese. Nothing compared to my mom falling on her birthday and nobody mentioning anything about it. Update: Tiny fracture on left foot. Service was pleasant and makes you want to come back to support them! Food was good, it is a chain but the potatoes with anything you want on them were something you cannot get everywhere so I recommend them for sure! I ordered online last night. I ordered the Dickey Dog, the crispy chicken. Sandwich, and a 3 meat plate. I had ordered about 20 minutes before I went to pick it up. We got there and were told that the sausage for the Dickey Dog wasn't ready. The cashier apologized, and stated it shouldn't be much longer. After about 5 minutes of waiting, the manager came over and handed me a $5 gift card, and apologized for the wait. I said it was fine, and I was not in a rush. Throughout the wait, the manager kept checking in on us, and letting me know it was almost done. When the sausage was finished, she let me know, and packaged all our food up. The cashier apologized again as I took my bag. When we got home, we found 2 big chocolate chip cookies in the bag with a post it note that said sorry. I have gone here many times as I think they have the best bbq in Kerrville. For the most part, service has always been good, but tonight it was outstanding. I cannot give enough praise to all of the employees, and a huge shout out to the manager. She definitely knows how to do her job right. By the way, the Dickey Dog was definitely worth the wait, and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious! Dickeys has had my attention a few times. Tried plates and specials. It's pretty typical of a commercial bbq. The food was OK but not great. Didn't taste real fresh but something that had been in a warmer a long time. Everything was on the dry side. The staff is friendly and always easy to get in and out. We ordered takeout and it was ready when we picked up. We ordered the "buy one 2-meat plate, get one free with 2 "big cup" drinks". I don't know if that is why our order was so small or not. The ribs on both of our plates had a rib with NO meat, one with some meat and one that was great. Our sides were great! I got three small medallions of the chicken. My daughter said her brisket was great although the portion was very small. Maybe the food would have been better if we had paid for both plates. It was very expensive for what we received. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by this place. It is a chain but it was delicious! Brisket was moist and flavorful and the ribs fell of the bones. All of the sides were delicious and I even got a free ice cream! Service was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely return! read more

A family owned business that is absolutely delicious and the owners and staff are so sweet and professional! We highly recommend their stacked Mac or frito pie with brisket or pulled pork My daughter loves the loaded baked potato filled with brisket! When we want an extra treat we get brisket queso. We went in for take out, as we are traveling back home via the I-10 and I saw that there is a Dickey's in Kerrville. We have eaten at Dickey's BBQ from L.A. and Vegas through Dallas to Mobile, AL, Jacksonville, FL and up the I-95 to New York. The Kerrville Dickey's is the worst we have ever had. In fact, had we eaten at this Dickey's first, we would never have eaten at Dickey's again. They are franchises, so it is likely that this place is just poorly run and cuts corners whenever and wherever possible. The brisket was flavorful but dry. The ribs were excellent (hence, 1 star) and the rolls were ok. The baked beans and BBQ sauce were runny, as though watered-down. The cole slaw tasted like it was made with old, fermenting cabbage and the loaded baked potato casserole was bland and gluey. Nope. Never going to stop at the Dickey's in Kerrville again. Dickey's should revoke this franchise, if that is an option. read more

BBQ wasn't bad, the portions were good size, service was okay. The worst part was, and this is hard to believe, but it was the water!! I've had Kerrville water at other places and it wasn't bad. Not sure if they need a new filter or a new machine just needs to be fixed. read more

I just recently went with my girlfriend and the food was great and the employees were super nice and friendly. If you like jalapeno cheddar sausage, that's definitely a great choice, the brisket always taste great. Also the sandwiches will fill you up almost every time. read more

My favorite place for BBQ! Yes, Dickey's is a chain; however, the owners of the Kerrville Dickey's are born and raised in Texas, just like Dickey's! Plus, our Kerrville Dickey's is locally owned and locally operated!! The owners are great people and are onsite almost all the time...they make sure we enjoyed our meal! And the fact that they smoke everything right there in the kitchen...no ovens for their meat...just one huge smoker you can even see from the order line! Won't eat BBQ anywhere else!! read more

Dickey's Barbecue Pit - What I ate. - Barbeque Near Me - Kerrville, Texas

First and Foremost, ANYone but anyone can throw meat on a rack and slow cook it for hours. A monkey can do that. I've been in Texas nearly 40 years and I laugh every time I hear someone yelp about great Texas BBQ. 2nd Foremost, RANCH beans are not a SIDE for bbq. IF any joint serves Ranch beans with their so called great bbq meat, it's simply not a bbq joint to me. Dickey's in Kerrville, my first visit ever to a Dickey's, was pleasant. I went bc they had sweet baked beans and they were excellent sweet baked beans. Another staple for any bbq joint has to be a memorable cole slaw. Dickey's got this right. I don't typically like bbq that slides off the bone, and I wondered why they didn't put bbq sauce on the tray, but after a bite, I understood. We got some sauce, just to check it out bc bbq sauce is really the bottom line on any bbq joint. Service was excellent and friendly, but I'm an old 5andimer and 25 bucks for a rack is a far cry from the 99 cent a lb ribs I used to buy. I enjoyed it all and the ribs we took back to the motel were really good, even cold, before taking off to see Robert Earl Keen. Like I said, anyone can do bbq, and I'll mostly stick with the 8 dollar plates at billy miller's before spending over 50 bucks for one rack and some sides. read more

I've never been to a Dickey's before they came to Kerrville. I still prefer the brisket at some of the local places, but they have really good sausage and the ribs are pretty good too. Another thing i like is that they have a good selection of sides. I'm not a big fan of potato salad or coleslaw in general so i was delighted to see favorites like waffle fries, macaroni and cheese and onion tanglers. Their baked potato casserole is realy good too, kinda like loaded baked potatoes. They have online ordering too, which i've found convenient when I'm in a hurry. read more

We have eaten here several times. The food is tasty, but now, twice in a row I have felt sick afterwards. I have four children, and after lunch today, each of them were sick on their stomach. I don't know if it's MSG? It just been twice in a row that we've all been sick after eating there. I tried the Dickey's BBQ in Kerrville Texas the other day. The ribs were okay, they were nice and tender, but I did not like the BBQ sauce - it tasted like thick ketchup. My friend had the brisket and it had no real smoked taste - I found out they use gas, not smoke, to cook their meat. The sweet tea was way too sweet, I had to mix in regular tea and it was still too sweet. The location was bad - I had to drive around to find it. It is not on the main road. Behind the counter was an open trash can with pieces of meat in it and fallen on the floor around it and stuck to the wall next to it - disgusting - the health department needs to check on that. I was not impressed and I will not go back. I would rather eat at Buzzies in Kerrville - I read about him in Texas Monthly and also tried that place - it was good - and the peach cobbler there is delicious. read more

We went because we had a coupon for a $2 sandwich. I had gotten the daily deal, which was pulled pork and 2 sides. And the kids got chicken nuggets. I got mac & cheese and bbq beans. My wife got potato salad. To drink, adults got sweet tea and kids got hi-c fruit punch. The meat is in plastic bags on the counter. The pulled pork tasted like beef. The mac & cheese tasted like kraft, only bigger noodles. And the beans tasted exactly like canned pork & beans. The tea tasted more like semi-sweet. Not enough sugar. And the chicken nuggets were the dinosaur shaped ones you can buy at the store. My wife never got her potato salad. The bbq sauce definitely was not house brand. It tasted like something I recently bought at the store. Basically, store brand stuff for restaurant prices. Expected this place to be twice as busy, being only the second day of operation. I would not recommend this to anyone. The only pro: you get to keep the cups, as they are reusable. read more
