This Dickey's fails on several levels. The customer service, particularly management, is unfriendly and rude. The store cannot fulfill the to-go orders accurately, and management accepts zero responsibility. The food is good when they haven't run out, and the machinery works. Brisket was moist as requested and seasonally good. If you like jalapeños sausage with cheese, the cheese is definitely abundant in every bite. I have a love-hate relationship with dickeys barbecue, I absolutely love the food but I hate that more times than not if I order delivery or curbside nine out of 10 times my entire order is incorrect. When I go in to eat my order is absolutely perfect but somewhere in the system things aren't being done right, when I get curbside they apologize for the long wait and I realize they are missing things or gave me the wrong thing. It sucks because I really want to eat barbecue more often as it is my absolute favorite type of food and I love dickeys barbecue I just wish they could get their orders right at this location. read more

To management-Temperature of Food was terrible and Place was empty! Customers here and there. How? why? Commercial tasting BBQ. Food was barely warm. 70% cold by the time we sat down at the table. They need Microwaves or something for the customers if they're not going to serve HOT FOOD. Chopped beef-not moist, not hot. Did get a crunchy Hot Buttery Bun!!!!thank god. Brisket slices-fell apart from dryness. Not hot. Flavor alright. Sausage-greasy but flavor was good. Still not HOT. Mac n cheese-cheese was obviously packaged , flavor was cheddar sour. Potato salad- only Good thing. Probably cuz it's meant to be Cold! Lol Roll- Least heat up a dang roll sheesh cmon! Just Lazy. BBQ sauces- liked the spicy one. Blondie Brownie- chocolate chips and pecans every bite. Awesome! DESERVES better packaging, taste was the aroma of the restraunt. Overall. Cleanliness of the place was Great. The worst Dickey's I've ever been too. Workers are too worried about what is going on with each other than helping the customer. He (or she, not sure but I called her ma'am) started on my sandwich then someone's asked her (him) a question so she just leaves and comes back 5-6 minutes later. Driving through Texas, looking for some bbq for lunch. Stopped by a local joint that was closed (Sunday) stumbled on Dickeys, had the 2 meat plate. Turkey was OK, I think turkey needs to be cooked on the bone for best flavor. The brisket, however, was fantastic. There are 3 sauces, I preferred the original, which was the best combination of sweet and spicy. -1 star for the average turkey and sides, go for the brisket and sauce... If I could give no stars I would. I've been in the food service industry for almost 30 years and would be ashamed if this was one of my facilities. I asked for a brisket and jalapeño sausage sandwich and a brisket and Mac and cheese taco. What I got was a pulled pork sandwich (no sausage) and a pulled pork taco (no Mac and cheese) on a tiny 4" stale tortilla. They claimed to be out of brisket and both sausages so the manager (Monica I think) told me she gave me double pulled pork like she was doing me a favor. After cutting me off and talking to a coworker about locking the doors she then told me she had Mac and cheese but no way of getting it to me. If the managers that abysmal at customer service I don't hold a lot of hope for the place. I will not eat here again and wished I'd read the reviews before ordering. At this point I just feel sorry for Connie the owner of this franchise. Her people obviously don't care about her. read more

Some of the best barbecue I've ever had! I know there is a Dickey's in just about every town in Texas. We've eaten at a few and been disappointed once or twice. But we've never had bad food or a bad dining experience at the Dickey's in Big Spring, TX. They are super friendly, the place is clean, and the barbecue brisket is fantastic. The turkey is a lean alternative, and we like that, too. The sides are great, and the complimentary ice cream is a nice treat. We love it! read more

Dickey's Barbecue store in Big Spring, delivers CUSTOMER DISRESPECT Dickey's corporate management and the local operator Ms. Strickland have designed a store that requires customers to stand in line at least 45 minutes before they can place their food order I have visited this store three times since it's opening in January 2014. First visit 45 minute line, second visit in April 2014 the wait was 55 minutes (they were working several phone in orders that cut to the front of the customer line). On my third visit in July 2014, I walked out of the store after standing in line for 30 minutes. During my first two visits, several customers both young and old were sitting in chairs that they pushed up through the line in their long wait. No one should be required to stand in line 45 minutes plus to place their food order. If Corporate Dickey's office truly respects their customers why have they not surveyed this store to suggest the installation of an order station (Like the one in the Midland Texas Dickey's store). If you order on line, your order is started once you reach the store. This practice now places you in front of the line and adds to the standing time for customers already in line. Not a good business practice. Big Spring needs a good BBQ store, but not one that PUNISHES AND DISRESPECT your customers by making them stand in line. You charge a premium price for your BBQ, why can you not provide a premium customer experience?? A reduction in your premium prices would not compensate for the poor customer experience or improve your customer experience and keep your premium prices. Dickey's Corporate management state on their website "The loyal patrons are what keeps Dickey's thriving in every community". There customer service in the Big Spring, Texas overtime will damage their brand name and they will loose their loyal local patrons. I now consider myself as a former loyal local patron. read more

I'm only giving this place 5 stars because I want them to stay open. I want a successful franchise business in Big Spring to stay for more than 2 years. I personally love their barbecue, ribs, and their cheddar sausage. The pulled pork is amazing, as are most of their sides. I haven't had a menu item that wasn't delicious. That being said, their online ordering system is one of the worst I've ever encountered. It's easy enough to order and pay, it's just that the order makes it to the store about 1 in 4 times. Honestly. The last 4 online orders I've placed, 3 have not shown up in their system. I get a confirmation email, but I arrive at the store only to be told, "We don't see your order". It's infuriating when you've ordered a large family meal on the weekend and people are waiting for you. So now I call and confirm they received my online order. It's like taking 2 steps back in technology. Online ordering is supposed to speed up the process, not slow it down - or stop it altogether. The staff is nice enough, they've accommodated me and rectified their online goofs (I still have 1 pending however), but I'm giving them 5 stars. The food is wonderful. And let me add that their ribs are not "dried up old bones". They are fall off the bone tender and there is a ton of meat on them. read more

I'm not sure what the folks in Big Spring feel about this restaurant, but I can't say enough good things about it as a whole. My wife and I were driving back home from San Antonio to New Mexico back in June. It had been a long day and there was a shortage of places to eat. We drove a bit on the main road looking for a place and decided to stop at Dickey's. It was hot and we were tired and hungry as well as our two dogs. We were concerned about the heat for them and decided to order takeout and stay with them while they ate and tried to stay cool. After my wife checked the place out and spoke with the owner, he decided to let us keep our dogs in the entry way of the restaurant so they would be cool and we could enjoy our meal. It was a God send! We ordered our food, the dogs got some of the BBQ and all the water they could handle and cooled down nicely. The employees all went out of their way for us. It's the best we've been treated in a restaurant in an extremely long time. These folks and the owners care about their customers and reputation. Everything was spotless from the dining room to the restrooms and food tasted top notch. Our little dogs even got a little extra from the kitchen when they said it was meat they could not sell. Whether that's the truth or not, it meant something to us. After our meal and rest, we were recharged and ready to go. They're good people and deserve to make it there. Give them a shot. read more
