I took my Pontoon boat to Dick Sheerer Marine in March 2025, as this was highly recommended by friends and family who would only take their boats to this company..... Before we took the boat to Dick Sheerer we called and spoke with Rafael and explained in detail, the Pontoon was located in Big Bear for the last 10 years and the boat just sat in my friend's driveway. We know nothing about boats and are very green to what the boat needed or what was required to maintain a boat. We asked for the boat to be checked out and to see if this was even worth our time and money. (Service engine, reupholster, carpet, replace Biminis, etc). Delivered the boat to Dicks and received a quote, and was told the engine appeared almost new, very clean. We agreed with the quote and approved for the work to begin. Prior to the boat being completed, I called and spoke with Carlos and asked what we needed to do to maintain the boat, as I never wanted to pay $4,000 again. Carols stated I needed to have the boat serviced yearly (roughly $400-$600) and every 2 years we needed to have a little more service which included replacing the water pump (roughly $1,500). I made clear communication I'm not taking the boat out in the water anytime soon, as upholster was next on the list. Finally in August the pontoon boat was completed. The original owner of the Pontoon boat lives in Big Bear and wanted to take the boat back to the lake to have a little fun, and also receive some lessons regarding the boat. The boat had all the maintenance it needed, including rebuilding the 4 carburetors. The weekend of Oct 4, I started the boat and something didn't sound right, I ran the motor for approx 8-10 mins, turned it off and said the boat needed to take back to Dick's to have the boat looked at. Monday 10/6 the boat was back at Dicks, then on 10/14 picked up the boat and was charge $858.37 to CLEAN the 3rd carburetor. Dicks Sheerer stated I had bad gas in the system. I didn't put bad gas in the boat nor did I run it longer than 10 minutes. The boat has yet to leave the DRIVEWAY. They accused me of putting bad gas in the boat and /or running the boat. This company doesn't honor their work or even back it up. Using this company you will end up flushing your money down the drain. I should not of been charged to clean a carburetor they just rebuilt, the boat has never been used. After the fact of paying 858 dollars, I was told to either run it out of fuel or start the engine up every two weeks. Joe Sepulveda

Dick Sherrer Marine is second to none in service and takes care of my 1990 Arriva as if it was there own. Well versed in boat repair who treats each customer and boat with excellent service throughout. I'll definitely be going back and will recommend others to this reputable company. Thank you George. S

I bought my boat from Inland Boat Center in March 2024 through Taylor and Mr. Hellman. At the time…read moreof sale, the experience was excellent--very responsive, very friendly, and full of assurances that made me feel confident doing business there. I purchased a 2021 Manitou Aurora for $32,000, which I still own and have only put about 30 hours on. A major part of that conversation was a trailer they agreed to sell me for $2,800 out the door. I was told it only needed brakes and that I would get a call when it was ready. I followed up several times and kept hearing delays, including that the wrong brakes had been installed and they needed more time. Eventually the communication stopped completely. Since then, no one has followed through, no one has updated me, and now the original agreement is treated as if it never happened. Instead, the only option presented is a new trailer for around $7,000. I also recently asked what they would offer if they bought the boat back. After paying $32,000 and barely using it, I was offered $16,000. Even getting that answer took repeated effort because emails and calls were ignored until I physically walked into the showroom. Service has been equally disappointing. When I bought the boat, I was specifically told that because I am a Canyon Lake customer they would arrange pickup and delivery for service. When I called recently, I was told there is now a $200 transportation charge and that I would need to take it up with Taylor. I texted Taylor directly again and still received no response. I was also quoted around $1,000 for a basic oil change and impeller replacement, while other boat service centers quoted substantially less for the same work. I have been in sales for over 20 years, and one thing I understand clearly is that customer service after the sale matters more than the sale itself. What stands out most here is how dramatically the customer experience changed once the transaction was complete. Before the purchase, communication was immediate. After the purchase, promises became difficult to verify, follow-up became almost nonexistent, and basic customer service became a struggle. For anyone considering buying here: document everything, get every commitment in writing, and do not rely on verbal promises alone. Based on how this has been handled, I would not purchase from Inland Boat Center again, and I would not recommend that friends, family, or anyone I know buy or service a boat there.
