I have never experienced an Estate Sale where the company hired treated customers in such an ill…read moremanner. Only a few items were priced and waited in line for 40 minutes to be given prices that were ridiculously overpriced. The comments being "how long would you wait at Walmart". Witnessed the estate sale company being very rude, loud and insulting. They are not professional at all. Hiring them to run a sale for you from what I saw would not be in your favor. Many customers walked out the door saying how rude these ladies were.

We recently contracted Cleveland Estate Liquidators to help clear my mother's home after her move…read moreto an independent living facility. I was thoroughly disappointed with Jessica, the owner. I found her to be deceitful, dishonest and thoroughly disagreeable. Her approach appears to follow three basic steps: (a) assert that there is nothing in the house that will sell for much, (b) sell items for far more than she claims to have sold them for, and (c) provide a fictitious, understated accounting of what was sold. She grudgingly provided the accounting only after I pressed her for it, and even then it was incomplete and misleading. On the day following conclusion of the sale (which Jessica ended early so she could tend to her dog), my family and I began to donate the remaining items to local charities: Savers, the Cleveland Furniture Bank and a group of Syrian refuge families we had met day after the estate sale. When I asked questions about the amounts for which various items items had been sold, Jessica's response via text was "you're giving things away and you question the prices of items I sold?" Donating items to a worthy cause once the sale has contractually ended is my prerogative. Getting an honest and accurate accounting of all items Cleveland Estate Liquidators sold is my right. Further, Jessica removed small oriental rugs after the sale claiming that she had a client who might be interested in purchasing them. Days later, I realized that she had neither returned them nor confirmed their sale. When I inquired, she said she could possibly sell them for $20. It defies business logic that Jessica would go to the trouble of taking the rugs and selling them to a client in order to net roughly $7. More importantly, I have written confirmation that two large oriental rugs were sold for three times the amount she provided, and that a set of deck furniture sold for five times the price Jessica acknowledged. Based on my experience, this woman preys on families who are in the midst of major life upheavals. A death or change in the living situation of a loved one is often the reason for an estate sale or liquidation. It would be an extreme understatement to say that being dealt with in this manner, during a truly daunting family moment, is very hard to accept. My experience with Jessica entangled me with a person who, in my opinion, is simply mean-spirited, combative and untrustworthy. As my family and I consider our legal options, it is my hope that this review saves others from such an unsatisfactory experience

Team doesn't wear any shirts identifying they work there - I came to an estate sale and walked in…read morethe door because others were walking into the house too, they realized I didn't work there and told me I shouldn't have walked in. I offered to go back outside. Was told it was fine, listened to them discussing plans for the day while I shopped, started making a pile of items since they said it was ok. Everything was 25% off til noon, I had quite a few items to look at still so I kept shopping, I asked a team member how the pricing worked if everything was 50% off at noon or if you checked out before, he said "typically yes, it's all 50% off after noon" and I proceeded to shop. I needed to decide between items so I kept shopping and thinking, debating if an item would fit my style at home. Called friends to try and get them items as well since I drove over an hour to this sale. It was maybe 11:30 (I got there at 9:45). They had checked out multiple people at 50% off prior to noon while I was standing by my haul. I had to put a picture back ($25 and 25% off) because I changed my mind. The owner had got an attitude with me and told me they were ready to check me out because I was taking up too much space. I had 2 paintings, 3 small vases and two books. I told her I wasn't quite done yet becayse I still needed to decide on my china set I wanted to get. There was an item unmarked - I asked for the price and it was very clear she just made up the price ($75) none of the other zillion unsold sets of china were priced that high. I could sense the vibe that I was no longer welcome. I would understand this if I had done something extraordinarily wrong but all I had asked if your entire order is 50% off after noon or only part. I explained this is my second estate sale I've been to and it wasn't with their company and I wasn't familiar. At that point they could have checked me out for items I got in the beginning of the sale... but I was told I needed to checkout and that all my items would only be 25% off since I had been there a while. It was aboit 12:20 at that point. The house had a lot of items and I drove a long time so I needed to make it worth my while so I never intended to be there 15 minutes like locals. I was pretty upset when they told me this since half my items were added within the last 30 minutes of the sale. Multiple people were "camping" waiting til noon for the 50% off. I hadn't planned to pay 25% off for everything, nor was I ever approached for a cut off time for when items added would no longer consider you allowed to follow same rules as everyone else. I truly, haven't felt bullied since I was in high school, there was a man there that was the main issue, he worked for the estate sale and I could tell the entire vibe shifted when I had asked him about the 50% off earlier and he even made a comment "don't let people in early see" because I had mistakenly went in. It was rude and not professional. I turned to him and said "it wasn't intentional to do that, nobody has a uniform, and there isn't a line" truly was upset with how rude this man was even after explaining I had no ill intentions. I ended up putting some items back since I couldn't afford them at the 25% off as I had picked up a lot of them towards the end thinking I would get a good deal. What bothered me the most was that the items I was made to put back anyone else could buy for the price they wouldn't allow me to have. I truly felt they were unprofessional and rude and the man that was rude had to write my ticket up, he didn't include a discount on my ticket at all, I was charged 100% ticket price and when I brought it to the owners attention she gave me money back but kinda gave him a look like "why didn't you write the discount." I'm sure they organize things for the family fine, I cannot speak on that aspect, but from a personal experience I willnot go to their sales again as I actually cried going to my car. I felt bullied and it was such a humbling experience as an adult.

She is super organized, very neat, and and very sensitive toward her clients at what is often a stressful time for them. There was a death in the family and we were moving, and she set up the perfect sale for us. For the estate sale, she made our house look SO INCREDIBLY nice and organized and inviting, I was almost sorry we were moving. Tons of buyers came and commented on how beautifully the sale was set up. She is also very honest and reliable about everything. Trust Jeannie at North Coast Estate Sales for all your needs. M.
