A warning, if you're considering going to Dianna: You might expect that "alternative" caregivers are warm, open, caring - Dianna isn't really like that. She's quite awkward, a bit brusque, and doesn't connect with or listen to people. I first noticed this when scheduling appointments over the phone, there were strange pauses and a sense that she was bothered. I understand some people have trouble on the phone, and hoped it would be better in person.
Another note - the address says 404, that's not her office anymore - spent several minutes looking for suite 404 before tentively stepping into another room with her name, that looked like an empty treatment room with no one around. creepy!
At our appointment, Dianna spent much more time making pronouncements than listening to my symptoms or history. At one point, as I was trying to explain about an ankle injury and the extensive physical therapy I did, and the exercises I still do, she repeatedly interrupted saying "so you stopped doing your exercises" - I kept trying to explain to her that I hadn't, but she wouldn't listen - I couldn't understand until later she said "well, you were laughing, that shows you weren't taking it seriously" Wow! I laugh because I'm trying to be friendly and because it's uncomfortable to talk about yourself so much - but she took offense to that, apparently. She got quite stern and went into a lecture that again assumed I wasn't doing anything about my ankle, again not listening to what I was trying to tell her, and of course ignoring the fact that I was shelling out quite a bit of money to see her in an attempt to do everything I could for the injury.
One last thing - Dianna herself admits to being "organic" with time, that she often doesn't start appointments on time and let's others run over - so if you're a schedule type of person, you are definitely better to go somewhere else. In my appointment, she ran so far over time we only did a very brief treatment (which i felt no improvement from), and I was still very late to my next appointment despite telling her up front I needed to be out at a specific time. I wish I had walked out the minute I felt uncomfortable with her attitude, and saved myself the money! in fact, I lost even more money because my next appointment rightfully didn't tolerate Dianna's "organic" schedule.
I think acupuncture has a lot of potential but I won't be coming back here. I recommend you save yourself the trouble and money as well. read more
