Just left the store. Excellent customer service and a special thanks to Stu. I purchased my wife's wedding band from this location a few years ago and have had no issues at all. Just stopped in here to look at wedding bands and had a very poor experience. My partner and I have been together for a very long time, but haven't legally tied the knot. We bought my engagement ring here in 2022 and have contemplated where to get our wedding bands from. When I stopped in here last Saturday to have my engagement ring cleaned, a staff member told me they were having out of town designers fly in this weekend for a big sale and to come back and have drinks and hors d'oeuvres. We both work Monday-Friday and were already busy on Saturday, so I asked if they would be open on Sunday for the event. She said they would be open 12-5. We decided we would get brunch in Castleton and then pop over to look at weddings bands today. The older woman who is always at the front door greeted us and we went to peruse the wedding bands at the back of the store. Not one other employee greeted us, asked if we wanted to look at anything, if we needed help with anything, etc. There was no additional stock or outside designers there today like I was told last week, so I guess they only came in for Friday/Saturday. Which is frustrating since I expressed that we would only be able to come in on Sunday and she didn't mention anything about them not being here today. We looked through all of the wedding bands we have already seen before and had to keep stepping around staff members who were blocking display cases while having personal conversations (not anything to do with jewelry). At one point, several men started yelling and jumping up and down because they had the Colts playing on the TV. Super weird vibes for a jewelry store. The last straw was when a woman who was sitting inside of the wedding bands area, but again never even greeted us, asked another staff member if he wanted something and he came over and sat his soda down on the display case we were actively looking at and then leaned back on it and started blocking it. We promptly decided to leave since we weren't being acknowledged. We previously had a very bad experience with a customer service staff member when we came in to have an antique tanzanite ring resized and appraised that had been gifted to me by my great-grandmother. After today, we are just going to only come here for maintenance/warranty needs on my engagement ring and look elsewhere for wedding bands. read more

I had a phenomenal experience at Diamonds Direct, specifically working with Mike Eakright. My 22 year old college student went in to get an engagement ring. Somehow, he was convinced to spend $20,000 on a ring when he didn't even have a job lined up. He said no one ever asked him about his income or budget. He did have an "exclusive" meeting with the "designer" of this 2 carat solitaire. That meeting gave him 1 year, free financing. This is just completely irresponsible. Yes, he's an adult and made a very adult decision but he should have been given more guidance. EDITED TO ADD: Just spoke to a friend. When her daughter's new husband was buying their engagement ring, the designer "Just happened" to be in the store the day he was there. Isn't that interesting?!?! read more

I would like to express my appreciation for Mike E. He truly made my first experience looking for engagement rings memorable. My sisters have been visiting this location since 2016, so I decided to check out the nearest Diamonds Direct in North Carolina. Unfortunately, I had a TERRIBLE experience at the Charlotte, NC location and felt discouraged about purchasing any jewelry from DD. However, my sisters assured me that the Indianapolis location was different and encouraged me to give it another chance. I'm so glad I did! I walked in with no knowledge of what I was looking for, but Mike was incredibly patient and kind. He helped me learn about the type of cut, color, and clarity I wanted for my engagement ring. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed during the process. Mike treated me and my soon-to-be fiancé like old friends and the time flew by! I cannot express how happy I am with my experience at Indianapolis Diamonds Direct. Thank you, Mike! You're amazing. read more

We have bought numerous things weddings rings (his and hers) necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc. One of the bracelets broke and we took it to get fixed "under warranty" we thought. We went to pick it up and it was $369.15. after they had it for 2 months. Fast forward 6 months, the same bracelet and then the ring breaks, we go back, and Alex offers us, 3 options: 1. to spend 2 times as much as it cost to get something new. 2. He will give us a little over half of what we bought it for or 3. We can turn it into our insurance. So I'm not really sure where a warranty comes into play here or what I am supposed to do with 2 pieces of broken jewelry I can't do anything with now. read more

Van Halen said it best: "And then you sense a change. Nothing feels the same. All your dreams are strange. Love comes walkin' in." During my teens and 20s, I was never lucky in love. I had numerous failed relationships; I had rejections. It was exhausting. At age 36, after another breakup, I figured I wasn't the sort of man who would ever get married. One day, a lovely and mysterious woman, who had attended my church for a decade, walked into my life. I didn't hesitate to sweep her off her feet, and she had me head-over-heels for her. After more than a year together, I knew it was time to buy a ring and propose. Since I knew nothing about diamonds, I found buying one to be a daunting task. Turning to Diamonds Direct was a great decision. Due to the COVID 19 crisis, I scheduled an appointment with Rachel, who turned out to be a dream of a saleswoman. When I arrived at Diamonds Direct's beautiful showroom, I was impressed. I was offered a beverage and immediately felt like an important customer. I explained my ignorance in jewelry to Rachel, and she could sense how nervous I was. I needed perfection, despite not even knowing my girlfriend's ring size. Within 20 minutes, Rachel had given me a crash course in diamonds, and she showed me multiple stones and settings. I was never pressured to make a purchase, and instead of buying immediately, I put a refundable deposit on a ring. Mulling over the purchase for a few days was an excellent idea. Several days later, I returned to Diamonds Direct and purchased the ring, which was ready for pick up within a week. It was absolutely beautiful, and for the price I paid, I felt like I stole it! I found all the "extras" offered by Diamonds Direct to be a nice touch, especially the lifetime resizing, cleaning, and rhodium plating. In the event of a disastrous proposal, knowing I had 30 days to return the ring provided peace of mind. In the end, my proposal was an event I will never forget! My former-girlfriend agreed to be my future wife, and the ring was a perfect fit. I absolutely love seeing it on her finger. I highly recommend Diamonds Direct, and I look forward to being a repeat customer! read more

I would definitely recommend Diamonds Direct for any newly engaged couple, upgrading rings, or any jewelry needs. My consultant was fun and bubbly and didn't pressure me at all. She really listened to my wants and didn't try to over-sale me more than what I wanted. There are treats like candy, cookies, whine everywhere to give you a great experience! Come in ready to spend a while there, you most likely will build your ring from scratch rather than walking out with a ring from the display box. The benefit here is you can listen to all the options for clarity, cut, style and so on and decide exactly what you want instead of having limited options to choose from. Pro Tip: Go during their interest free sale. You can get a diamond worth 10k with no interest for 5 years! I was able to get a ring twice the size for the same cost of going to a competitor and picking out a ring that I would ultimately be giving up size for to pay the interest. When I worked out the cost of interest at other chains, it was about $1500 in interest that I instead used to increase the size of my diamond by $1500. read more

Amazing experience here. The Indianapolis location itself was informative, not pushy, patient, and very knowledgeable. They really got it together for our engagement ring purchase. Four stars because the financing information took over a month to arrive but I imagine that has more to do with the parent company and credit company than the actual Indy Location. read more

If I could give the team at Diamonds Direct (formerly Distinctive Diamonds) 12+ stars, I would! My journey started in November, 2016 when my mom and I walked-in hoping to find 1 wedding band that I would love, but luckily for me (unluckily for my now husband) I found 2! Kristin "Kris" Cassady was my (awesome) saleswoman and as a team, we came up with a beautiful, stackable-look that was 1000% what I was hoping for. I got married in April, 2017 and that is when I started wearing my engagement ring and 2 wedding bands daily. In the sample sizes, I loved how the combination looked, in my size, on my chubby fingers and considering that I chose 1 bezel set eternity ring and 1 pronged eternity band I didn't love the look as much. The bezel set ring that I wore in the middle sat lower than my pronged engagement ring and the other (pronged) wedding band so it appeared lackluster, which was not my vision. Back to the drawing board! I returned to Diamonds Direct asking for possible suggestions. After consulting with the "Dream Team": Dominique, Mark (the Master Jeweler), Shannon, Kris and Mark again, we came up with a plan. After a few hours and some hives, I returned to pick-up my wedding bands. Mark, the Master Jeweler (and a jewelry rockstar) soldered my bezel set wedding band the same height as my pronged wedding band and it is absolutely perfect! He could not have done a better job if he tried, it is exactly what I wanted. Kudos to the Direct Diamonds Dream Team. Thank you, thank you, thank you all! I can't wait to see what we come up with next! -Shelby PS. I am not traditional, nor is the order in which I wear my rings. read more

Almost 2 years ago, my now fiancé and I went to Diamonds Direct just to get an idea of what we could afford and what we were wanting. Recently, my fiancé decided to return to make that big purchase. He really enjoyed the overall service at Diamonds Direct. He had used an existing family band, but needed to update the stone and the head that supports it. During that process, they offered to place the original stone in a pendant of my preferred finish, free of charge! This was an incredibly sweet gesture and I'm equally as excited to wear both the necklace and the engagement ring. My fiancé even was offered watch battery replacements for two of his watches free of charge. The only thing he wanted to make note, that the consultant Grace, who is no longer working there, pressured him into purchasing the wedding band. Since the engagement band is older and didn't come from this store, there wasn't a matching set or anything to warrant buying the wedding band that day. She did talk him into buying a rose gold band, even though the engagement ring itself was gold. Luckily, once he told me, we talked about it and he able to return it with no issues. I'm sure I'll have future visits here for wedding bands and cleanings. But Jeff really enjoyed his experience. read more

I walked into DD looking for a diamond and a way to get a setting I'd been looking at for my girlfriends engagement ring. I did not leave disappointed! I met Khris, who was super bubbly, funny, and mega helpful! She showed me all the ins and outs of diamond buying and taught me about what makes DD better than the three other jewlers on the same street. I told her what I had in mind and she ran with it! The diamond that Khris found for me was perfect! Large, sparkling, and most importantly, in budget! Khris then went the extra mile and with only two pictures of the setting I wanted to go on, designed the perfect setting for the diamond. The final product is pictured. My girlfriend is now my fianceè and wearing the gorgeous ring designed my Khris from diamonds direct! read more

I have made several purchases at Distinctive Diamonds and had no problems at all. I don't understand the low ratings and negative comments, but the common theme is all of the reviewers have very few reviews on yelp. My suggestion would be to call and talk to the store manager, David, or Megan with your concerns so they can address it directly. I have purchased an engagement ring, wedding bands and other jewelry here. Our sales lady, Traci, is wonderful. I have also worked with Eli, Megan and Chrissi, with the same great results. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything at anytime. The service we received and the quality of the jewelry we purchased was top notch. Independently appraised our rings are worth about 30% more than what we paid. A true value for our money. Most jewelry stores offer drinks to their customers. DD has soda and water along with alcoholic beverages. I have never felt overwhelmed by the offerings of drinks or felt like they were trying to push alcohol on me. Due to the high volume of people which visit on weekends, I can see how you would be offered something several times. They tend to be extremely busy on the weekends so visiting during the week may be a better option if you don't like crowded stores and you browse and interact with your sales person in a less hectic environment. read more

Customer service is friendly but they could not size my wedding band correctly after two attempts and would not let me just return it, instead just offered store credit when I had to purchase a different ring because of how long it took them to resize twice. They cited the 30-day return policy when I tried to return the ring 3 months after the original purchase date, but within days of the second resize. Will not be returning for the next 30+ years of buying jewelry and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

My husband and I looked only a few places in Indy when trying to find the perfect engagement ring but none of them came even close to the amazing service we received at Distinctive Diamonds! They are very accommodating when you come in and help answer any questions you have right away. My husband went back by himself to handle everything before he popped the questions but he was paired with a professional gemologist because he had a diamond already but need appraisals and inspections. Then when it came time to buy our wedding rings, we happened to go in on a day with crazy sales and just bought them on the spot. Free engraving on both of ours and since we both have white gold, we can get them polished for free for as long as we live! That was a huge plus because my husband originally wanted a tungsten ring but the salesperson was very informative in how brittle they can be and cannot resized. But with the white gold you can resize and polish all day long. :) read more

When looking for wedding bands, time and time again our friends recommended Diamonds Direct. We were certainly sold by their affordable prices and wide selection, yet the buying process didn't come without a few bumps in the road. We ordered my husbands wedding band months in advance of our wedding and were assured that it would come in at least a month prior to our wedding. However, when the ring came in from the designer, it was the wrong ring. Diamonds Direct had to reorder the ring 3 separate times and pushed right up to our wedding date . In fact, they had to deliver the ring to our venue on our wedding day. Talk about a high stress situation for all involved!Unfortunately, the ring they delivered was still the wrong ring, but the show had to go on and we got married with the wrong ring. Following our wedding, we set up a time to come meet with the Jeweler at Diamonds Direct and he ended up customizing my husbands ring to exactly what he wanted. He did a phenomenal job! They also rectified the situation by fully refunding the cost of my husbands ring. In the end, Diamonds Direct made things right but It was certainly unfortunate that all of our wedding photos of my husbands ring was not the correct ring. read more

One thing that can make an otherwise stressful situation easier is great customer service. The staff at Diamond's Direct does just that. I have been to Diamonds Direct multiple times recently in the process of purchasing an engagement ring. Now that the fiancée has said yes I can review! My first visit to Diamonds Direct was with the girlfriend, now fiancée (haven't used this term enough yet), and we found the ring. Tracie, our sales associate was amazing! Before she let us look at the rings and diamonds she made sure we were educated on the terms and styles that they had (I wasn't educated at all, thanks Tracie). We chatted about the specific type of metal, shape, etc. so I would know what I actually needed to buy. I purchased the ring at an event with huge sales on collections and diamonds. This ended up saving me a lot of money which I really like. Only a couple things really bummed me out about this process. 1) don't expect to finance through their Wells Fargo program if you are new to credit. 2) I wish they would bring the GIA certifications out with the Diamonds when they show them to you (after getting the ring and the certification I found a lot more things than I did the day I purchased it). Overall, I loved my experience at Diamonds Direct and will likely go back sometime in the future. Thanks Diamonds Direct and Tracie! read more

The Bae and I dropped in on a Friday evening to get the ball rolling on engagement ring shopping. This was our first stop on the ring shopping route, and we chose it after hearing rave reviews from friends who got their engagement rings here. We were coming in to get an idea for style vs. budget and what to expect when the time does come. We felt a little guilty rolling in an hour before they closed on a Friday, but you would've never expected that by the way the staff treated us. Almost immediately upon entering, a wide-smiled young woman asked our names and told us someone would be with us shortly, so we moseyed around looking at all the shiny things. Speaking of shiny, lets talk about the awesome lights DD has in their store. Everything sparkles. Our saleswoman told us that their lights don't even compare to the sparkle seen in the sun, and sometimes when the sun is really shining you can see staff showing customers the jewelry outside. They want your jewelry to look even better when you leave. Nice note. Back to the story- Tracie found us and we told her our gameplan. She gave us a great Diamonds 101 on what to look for in a diamond and what to look for in a Diamonds Direct diamond. I got the impression she had done this for a while because she never faltered and we never felt pushed to buy right then and there. It felt honest and genuine. Tracie took us around to a few different collections and had me try on styles. I can't say I didn't have heart eyes at a few of them, and I definitely fell in love with a specific style. Tracie made note of that, as well as my finger size, on her records for when Bae comes back for the real thing. After narrowing down the styles, Tracie showed us different diamonds and had us guess what each stone's 4 Cs were, which was a great way to see in person the differences. There's only so much you can get from looking at pictures on a page. She told us where you could give in and what you could get more of in order to really get the best bang for your many bucks. We saved so much time going to Diamonds Direct first because we didn't really want to go anywhere else! We did go to one other jeweler, but it just did not compare to the customer service and products at Diamonds Direct. Other highlights for Diamonds Direct: -plenty of financing options available -whole sale store, meaning they only get the best diamonds to sell at the lowest price possible. Tracie even showed us this thing called a Rapaport, a weekly report that tells jewelers what to sell each diamond for at all the different C levels. We were told Diamonds Direct is the only jeweler that shows customers this report, so they are SO HONEST in their pricing. To put that into perspective, we went to Other Jeweler and no Rapaport was seen. Hmmmmm... -Complimentary resizing, cleaning and lifetime upgrade for engagement rings from Diamonds Direct -You can reserve a diamond for 30 days at a 100% money-back guarantee. I don't know what the deposit on a reserve would be, but seems like a great option if you need to figure things out. All in all, we were very pleased with our time at Diamonds Direct. Can't say *I* will be back (only to keep surprises surprises!), but Bae will for that Big Moment. read more

From the start till end their customer service has been fantastic. I told them what I wanted and what my price range was. Never did they try to "add on". Infact, our sales associate Brandon even dug out a less expensive center diamond for us. He thought it would perform the same as the other diamomd we wanted and save us some more money. If you're looking for a deal on diamonds I recommend here. Even if you live a few hours away (like we did), consider DD! Do your research and they will meet you at a fair price point. Distinctive Diamond truly have a great team in there. And their service doesn't end when you walk out that door. Normally to keep warranty active, you need a semi annual appointment for jewlery cleaning, inspecting, and rhodium coating.
