The Process I started this journey at the beginning of the year by calling to inquire about costs. The staff was wonderful--they were very friendly and answered every single one of my questions without rushing me. A few days later, they followed up to get us scheduled and handled the deposit over the phone. It was very organized from the jump. Drop-off & Staff When we arrived for drop-off, I'll admit I was a bit nervous because the line was quite long. However, the TCAP team is a well-oiled machine! They were so quick and efficient that the line moved in no time. What really touched me was how they handled my dog. He has some anxiety, and the friendly staff went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable and calm before taking him back. It's clear they truly care about the animals, not just the procedure. Pick-up & Aftercare Pick-up was just as smooth. They provided thorough after-procedure care instructions and the necessary medications so I knew exactly what to do once we got home. We were back to our day in no time! They did blood work and even a urine sample. They said the tests came back okay and that it might be his teeth that's affecting him and that's the reason why he is not eating . We trusted this doctor and proceeded with his teeth getting cleaned and few teeth getting removed. It cost us $1100. After a week he still was not eating. After seeking a second opinion, we discovered the true issue and that my pet has liver damage and possibly cancer. We rushed him to an emergency vet and that is when we got the true diagnosis. I am so upset that the doctor had missed this when we first brought him for a check up. Please take your pet somewhere else. Our dogs will not be coming back here ever again and will be taking them to another clinic.

I just paid $527.64 for a 10 minute wellness exam and shots (Rabbies, Bordatella, DAPP/Lepto) for my two pups. If you're using these reviews to make your care decisions for shots, please just go to Texas Animal Coalition instead. They charge around $28 for a full round of shots per pet which makes it possible for many of us to afford to taking care of our furry family member.

Throughout those years, our experience with the veterinarians and technicians has been consistently positive. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing quality care for their patients. The reason for this review is not the quality of care, but the clinic's prescription refill policy. When attempting to refill our cat's flea and tick medication through Chewy, the prescription request was declined because our cat had not had an annual wellness exam. When I contacted the office to understand the reasoning behind the requirement, I was told that the exam was necessary to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. However, I did not receive a clear explanation of how a routine wellness exam for a healthy, three-year-old cat would impact the decision to approve a medication he has been safely taking for the past three years. Veterinary regulations may require periodic examinations before prescriptions can be authorized, and if that is the case, I would have appreciated a straightforward explanation of that requirement. Instead, the responses I received felt generic and did not address the underlying question of why the exam was necessary in this specific situation. For many families, discretionary spending is carefully evaluated. Requiring an $83 wellness exam solely to authorize a refill of an established flea and tick preventative adds a meaningful expense without a clearly communicated benefit. While I understand the importance of routine preventive care, I believe clients deserve a transparent explanation of the medical or regulatory rationale behind policies that require additional visits and costs. My overall opinion of Riverwalk remains positive because of the quality of care they have provided over the years. I've brought my cat in here for emergency surgery (urethra blockage) and all of our pets come here for their regular care. The lead vet clearly loves all animals, and does not offer any strict advice or pass judgement. They help answer all of our questions every time, and send us personalized texts to check in on any concerns we've had. My cats are on a special prescription food and they've worked with us to figure out the perfect ordering and pick up times. I feel extremely safe here, and know we'll be given honesty without any attempts to upsell unnecessary services. I really can't say enough good things about their level of care and commitment.

They took one look at him and knew he was bad off. They immediately took my baby and rushed him to the back and begin working on him. They allowed me to stand there and observe everything they did to my King. I am a medical person and I am familiar with the processes of triage patients with emergencies. The physician performed a sonogram and began to tell me my options of care. I had to make the most difficult decision in my life. I decided not to be selfish and to have my King put to rest. This facility not only comfort me, but my family as well. They gave us a room and told us to take our time, they offered refreshments and continually checked on us. They just went out of their way with compassion and concern. I have never experienced this type of Customer Service in my entire life. It made me and my family feel heard and understood about our wishes. Once my family completed our goodbyes and they put our King to rest, they comfort my family, some even shared tears with us. They gave us things to remember our baby boy King that I will cherish forever.This hospital will always hold a special place in my heart. This is a place that I would love to work at and be proud to say that I worked there because each and every person who works in that building are Gods angels, and truly care about the animals that they treat. I will always be grateful. I know this was God's plan because it all went perfectly. Yes, I left without a dog, but I now have a new family that I would cherish with my other pets. Thank you again to each and every one of the staff who comfort my family, who gave my comforting hugs and who helped my King. Neely did full X-rays and said Rudy has asthma but I don't think he needs medication for it. And then he tells me that my Rudy may die , Neely continues to give me scenarios as to why his friends have died ! This man talked so much bs about things that are irrelevant to me and my Rudy's condition. Neely charged me 400$ just to hear him talk bs . I have talked with neighbors and they agreed that he talks way too much about nothing that pertains to pets health care. I took Rudy to another vet because this idiot Neely said he would die! I learned that country veterinarians are more knowledgeable and compassionate.. New vet said that Can't see the forest through the trees!! My Rudy was properly diagnosed and treated and doing good today. Neely wasted my time talking bs , he basically charged me to hear him talk a bunch of bs. It's like one neighbor said he talks a lot because he doesn't know shit ! I will never return to this veterinary clinic, now that Dr. Miranda is no longer there .
