I have never yelped before... Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Justin Broughtman, a local…read moregroomer who deserves a standing ovation in my book!!! Wow is all I have to say!! Both of my dogs have always HATED being bathed and having their nails trimmed. It has been a constant struggle in my house. I've always done it myself, ending up with water everywhere and me in tears. A friend had suggested I try a groomer... A groomer? I have two very large pitties, taking them to a groomer never crossed my mind! She told me to call Justin Broughtman, owner of Justin-In-Time Pet Grooming. She said guess what? He's mobile. Really?? Yes! I am a super busy mom with 3 young kids... Perfect! So I called him Tues morning and he was able to fit me in the next day. Justin was amazing with my dogs from the moment he walked in the backyard. You can tell he loves what he does and truly has a compassion for animals. He brought them each treats (running it by me first) and was professional and caring throughout his visit with us. Like I mentioned, I have three kids. I'm busy. I immediately felt at ease letting Justin do his thing while I helped my oldest with her homework. He even showed my 3 yr old step by step how to properly trim a pups nails and allowed her to help him paint my dogs toe nails. Yes, he helped my daughter paint my dogs toes!! She was loving every minute of it. Justin will be paying my family a visit once a month from now on. He was professional, on time, bathed both of my dogs with ease (how did he do this????). He went above and beyond when he allowed my toddler to help him every step of the way. You should have seen the fun they had!! Justin, you have a new loyal customer with us, thanks again!

UPDATE, raising my rating to 3 stars: The owner, Rica, called me personally after seeing this…read morereview and the photos. She apologized sincerely, told me the groom was done by a newer groomer and not by her, and offered to make it right by doing the proper sanitary trim and coat and tail work herself once Padme's coat has grown back in. That kind of accountability matters to me. As a small business owner myself, I know the difference between a shop that does not care and a shop dealing with a new hire's mistake, and I am not going to tank someone's business over the second one when the owner stepped up the way she did. I am raising my rating now to reflect that. I will come back and update again after Padme is grown out and I have seen the corrective groom in person. Leaving my original review below for context.

Our dog has been enjoying HappeeDawg for @ 7 years or so…read more My biggest gripe is with shipping and lack of any customer service. For years now I have been asking them to write all over the boxes that it is "raw food" and needs to be delivered immediately... crickets and it never happens! We are always the last delivery of the day for ups, fedex or whoever is delivering at the time... so the driver has driven around all day with the product in their hot vehicle. So often times a good portion has thawed by the time it gets to us. We always pay the extra $25 for shipping protection but I would find it maddening if I had to make a claim every other time it arrives thawed out and no doubt they would quite shipping it to us. Some might say find another company- but sadly Happeedawg is unique and a little less expensive than other companies... even though I'm paying over $100 more than I used to for the same order...but everything has gone up in price. So I place large orders (80-100+ lbs at a time- not cheap), stock up on the product because I have to have it shipped (northern California). It would probably be better if I could just buy it locally and not have to buy it in bulk, but no one sells it in Northern CA. And I wish after all this time- customer service actually existed with this company, but it doesn't. Also I know I am not alone in this sentiment as several of my friends in other parts of California buy from this company as well and have the same issues.
