I made an appointment and reluctantly went. My anxiety was short lived. The friendliest receptionist ever greeted me. My hygienist was incredible, so gentle and kind. Then there's Dr. Grams. He treats you like you are the only patient he has. DR. Grams was gentle, knowledgeable and engaging. Not upselling services or pushy in anyway. I absolutely love the feeling of the office, immaculate, with such personality. I could tell the Doc was a music and sports lover. It had a warmth I've never experienced before in a dental office. Outstanding quality service. I very highly recommend Dr. Grams.

The form asks you to consent to sharing your "protected" health info with their "business associates" without explaining the details as HIPPA requires. The form does say "refer to our notice before signing the consent", but I saw no notice. The receptionist repeatedly said I would have to sign one wherever I went ... in my experience patients are allowed to limit what is shared, without being refused service. She said they likely wouldn't treat me if I didn't sign it, but she could ask. I felt pressured and unwelcome. So I left with the forms. Others may have a better experience.

Dr. Alex Trigonis is quite probably the most dishonest and unethical dental practitioner that I've…read moreever encountered. My son Michael was treated by Dr. Trigonis in 2012. I have four main issues with this treatment: (1) Dr. Trigonis enormously overstated his familiarity with jaw surgery. Also, when he saw how concerned my wife and I were about the prospect of our son having jaw surgery, he revised his initial opinion that "your son's condition cannot be corrected without surgery", holding out the false hope that a non-surgical treatment was possible. Ultimately, four other dental experts--Dr. William Arnett (dental surgeon), Dr. George Lyman (pediatric dentist and professor of dentistry), Dr. Robert Kiken (dental surgeon), and Dr. Stewart White (orthodontist)--agreed that a combination of jaw surgery and orthodontia (Dr. Trigonis' original recommendation) was the only good option. (2) Dr. Trigonis has admitted in writing to having violated our rights to informed consent. He claims that he decided without our consent to take the non-surgical route for treating our son. (I believe that this was actually a false admission, in that he was attempting to cover up having incompetently prepared my son for the surgery, but this is hard to prove). Either way, per long-established legal precedent, Dr. Trigonis' actions constitute dental malpractice. (3) When the jaw surgeon (Dr. William Arnett) informed me that my son's orthodontic preparation was not correct, and that rework would be required to address the problems, Dr. Trigonis demanded more money to fix his work. Given the concerns about his honesty and competence, I decided to switch to another practitioner (Dr. Stewart White). [Between Drs. White and Arnett, my son's dental problems were efficiently and professional corrected.] (4) There is one additional issue that is worth mentioning: When I brought Dr. Trigonis to small claims court, he falsified the dates of treatment. A detailed discussion of the small claims case can be found here: http://phillipmfeldman.org/history/miscellany/small_claims.html

I moved from Glendale to Florence a few years ago, but continued to drive the two hours each way to…read moresee the dentist we knew because we trusted him and he never peeled us for unnecessary work. After a time we decided that as much as we liked him, we needed to find something closer so we didn't lose a day each time we needed out teeth cleaned, or in case of emergencies. Ocotillo was considered because of their stellar reviews, so I set up appointments for my wife and daughter to get their teeth cleaned. They were my Guinee pigs before I went there myself. :-) They reported back to me that the girl at the front desk argued with my wife that she needed to have my daughters payment run through the insurance company even though my daughter wasn't covered as such and my wife was totally willing to pay cash. As soon as my wife finally gave in out of frustration and told her to give it a shot the girl acted all offended and said she couldn't do that as it is considered insurance fraud. This is what my wife had been trying to tell her so she was very confused. The girl then got into a dispute with my daughter over her age, refusing to believe her when she said she was 22. Not really sure what that was about. As soon as my wife went in, the dentist looked at the x-rays and without even looking into her mouth began telling her she needed a deep cleaning, crowns replaced, implants done etc etc. Our other dentist was REALLY good, and never tried to upsell us for things we didn't need. He even yanked her chain about doing cosmetic work she told him in no uncertain terms she wasn't interested in, asking her when he could get started. She was not happy. So I cancelled the follow up appointment she made as they told her they didn't have time to do all the necessary work that day and made an appointment with our previous dentist for a second opinion. If he says she needs that work done then fine, but as she goes to the dentist on a regular basis I would be shocked to find out that in the six months since her last visit her teeth have staged a revolt and need to be subdued to the tune of thousands of dollars.

I was very diligent about getting my cleanings & exams, but in 2019 I could no longer work and had no insurance. I lost my husband in 2020, and was very nervous about scheduling an appt this year. After leaving voice mail messages early July with no return calls, I worked up the nerve to drive by to see if they were still open. I thought that might be the case because the voice mail referred to Memorial Day which I found odd. I stopped in on TUESDAY July 6th, they were open, Taylor said Marie & Desiree were no longer there, but said she could get me in TOMORROW. She asked if I wanted a card & I said no, I was putting it in my calendar, but because I had bi-lateral hip replacements I needed a presciption for antibiotics prior to appt & it was going to be really tricky trying to get it filled so quickly. She gave me a prescription, I scrambled to get it filled so quickly, took pills the hour before my appt time, showed up for the appt, office was closed. Called 3 times before Taylor answered, she ARGUED with me that she tried to give me an appt card, she had it in the trash and it said the 8th, not the 7th. I guess the word TOMORROW doesn't mean what I thought it meant. I was angry because I took an antibiotic for no reason, I was not swearing, but she said I disrespectED her. I was so upset I re-scheduled for 2 wks later. I showed up, and Taylor tried to make a joke that she was surprised I showed up because she didn't think I wanted to see her again. Not wrong. My cleaning was with McKenzie who was also new, she was sweet but water was going down my throat & I had to sit up to cough up water at one point. I didn't feel like I got a great cleaning but just wanted to get out. Dr Roper did a quick look, did not address the tooth I was worried about, pushed for me to get a mouth guard & rushed out. While still in the chair, McKenzie offered to schedule my next cleaning. She actually said "Six months would bring us to JANUARY 31ST, but we might be closed because of NEW YEARS EVE." I was shocked & slightly insulted, but I kindly told her she was off a month. She put an appt card in the normal dental goody bag. Taylor was not at the desk as I was leaving but I just wanted to get out of there & left. As I was driving home, Taylor called & said I failed to make my payment. I stopped back in later that afternoon. She said I did not give my insurance information, and I told her she had made a copy of my card back on the 6th. She looked & said she did have that. I showed her my appt card, and asked what date does this say? It showed 1/3/22. She read it to me as ONE THREE TWENTY TWO. I asked what date am I scheduled for? She said one THIRTY one. I said to cancel whatever appt I had & to have the Dr call me. Angela the manager called me, then Taylor who apologized saying she didn't realize how upset she made me. I asked for referrals to another office. To this date, I have not recieved any referrals or a call from Dr Roper. Dr Scheerhorn & Marie are no longer there, and this is definitely not the attention to detail that I have been accustomed to & a faithful patient of this practice, and have recommended in the past. Sad and extremely disappointed.
