With all the choices for a dentist out here, why get overcharged. Again, not a lawyer, but everything I looked up what they are doing looks allegidy/borderline illegal. Unethical at the least. Even more friendly in person - felt very family oriented and authentic. We got there a little early and were taken back quickly. Typical x-rays were taken, along with a cleaning. Hygienist was great - got the job done quickly and with a smile (non-judgmental of my lack of flossing) Unfortunately, both my husband and I have quite a bit of "work" to get done, but their pricing was competitive and they gave us time to chat it over before making our next appointment. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this location if you are looking for a friendly, local dental office. Looking forward to going there for years to come.

After a time we decided that as much as we liked him, we needed to find something closer so we didn't lose a day each time we needed out teeth cleaned, or in case of emergencies. Ocotillo was considered because of their stellar reviews, so I set up appointments for my wife and daughter to get their teeth cleaned. They were my Guinee pigs before I went there myself. :-) They reported back to me that the girl at the front desk argued with my wife that she needed to have my daughters payment run through the insurance company even though my daughter wasn't covered as such and my wife was totally willing to pay cash. As soon as my wife finally gave in out of frustration and told her to give it a shot the girl acted all offended and said she couldn't do that as it is considered insurance fraud. This is what my wife had been trying to tell her so she was very confused. The girl then got into a dispute with my daughter over her age, refusing to believe her when she said she was 22. Not really sure what that was about. As soon as my wife went in, the dentist looked at the x-rays and without even looking into her mouth began telling her she needed a deep cleaning, crowns replaced, implants done etc etc. Our other dentist was REALLY good, and never tried to upsell us for things we didn't need. He even yanked her chain about doing cosmetic work she told him in no uncertain terms she wasn't interested in, asking her when he could get started. She was not happy. So I cancelled the follow up appointment she made as they told her they didn't have time to do all the necessary work that day and made an appointment with our previous dentist for a second opinion. If he says she needs that work done then fine, but as she goes to the dentist on a regular basis I would be shocked to find out that in the six months since her last visit her teeth have staged a revolt and need to be subdued to the tune of thousands of dollars.

I have delta dental, which is a great insurance that covers cleanings 100%, all X-rays, and 100% of emergency crowns and dental work. This office tried telling me that the cleaning would be over 100$'s because of the gingivitis. I told them that I just needed a basic cleaning and they would not do that. And the crown was almost $800. My total for this visit would have been over $1000. Would not recommend.

I scheduled an appointment specifically for a second-opinion consultation regarding a broken front…read moretooth. I have severe dental anxiety and white-coat syndrome, which was apparent during my visit. Despite scheduling an appointment to have a second opinion for a front tooth and a future dental treatment plan, I was placed with hygienist Chantel for a dental cleaning that I had neither scheduled nor requested. I was told that the " this is process". I told her that I forwarded my x rays and this was for a second opinion on my tooth. She just carried on as if she was proceeding. I became increasingly distressed during the interaction and ultimately experienced severe anxiety. I had not prepared with taking anything for an appointment to have any type of work done. I told her I wanted to leave at that point as my anxiety went through the roof and explained I know I won't be able to calm down. Chantel had a complete unprofessional attitude and said " you want to leave"? Then stated well I'll be right back I'm going to talk to the front staff. She instead when and brought Dr. Stanley into the room. While I was visibly distressed and upset, rather than attempting to calm the situation or allowing me to leave without confrontation, he told me that I had "wasted 90 minutes" of his staff's time, he was condescending and I felt like I was being scolded. I was told and talked down to that I wouldn't find another dentist without the same protocols. I felt humiliated. I then started to have a panic attack in the room. I was then told to go to the waiting room. While I was in the lobby having to wait, visibly crying and experiencing the panic attack, I observed Chantel laughing and making comments to the front-desk staff while holding paperwork over her face as if I couldn't see. I found this behavior humiliating and extremely unprofessional. I do want to note that the front-desk employees themselves were kind to me once they recognized how distressed I was asked if there was anything they could do. Dr Stanley actually expected me to schedule another appointment after I was able to take something to relax me, prior to coming and telling me while hitting his hand on his chest schedule with me next time because you wasted 90 minutes of time that was blocked for you with my staff. This is exactly what I did the day before when I scheduled. I was on hold over 10 minutes with the front desk trying to figure out how to schedule me. I explained that I had just had a consultation the day before with another dentist and wanted a second opinion as I was a previous patient and really loved this practice. I had my X rays to forward. I said I don't want to be charged again with insurance. I was told it's ok we need to schedule it this way but she is aware of what is needed and she will not be doing an exam. Chantel was clueless of this and didn't even know my X rays were there. I was a previous patient it had been a few years since I was there. I was always treated wonderful by staff especially the office manager and the Dentist that retired. Caring and so much compassion dealing with dental phobias and anxiety. My concerns are that I was presented with a dental procedure I had not scheduled or requested and was told it was mandatory, and that both Dr. Stanley and Chantel responded inappropriately when I became acutely distressed and asked to leave. I am diagnosed as disabled suffering from severe anxiety and depression. I actually felt like I was being discriminated. I expected more from any professional instead I felt ashamed and embarrassed Maybe they need to have some additional training mandated by the Arizona State Board.

They ensured that they could. I followed up via phone the same day to again ensure that we were on the same page and that they could provide the correct service for my daughter who is experiencing tooth pain. They again stated that they could and scheduled the appointment. They call me the day of the appointment, a week later, to inform me that they made a mistake and cannot provide what my daughter needs. They said that all they can do is take x-rays and provide referrals. I already have the x-rays and THEY were the referral. Also, how is that service providing my daughter will any type of pain relief that we discussed via email and via phone prior. Their exact words were that "no one is perfect" and that there "is nothing they can do about it"! Mind you this is after I have already requested time off work and have been telling my daughter for a week to just hold in there because the dentist would be seeing her soon. ABSOLUTE IDIOTS!!!! AVOID THEIR STUPIDITY AT ALL COSTS.
