The Hidden Jewel in Brandywine…read more "The Instagram Find That Turned Into a Family Food Mission." June 9, 2026 -- the day Instagram convinced me to get in the car and chase down a food spot that looked too good to be true. The video I saw made Cedarville Store look like a local treasure, so I punched the address into the GPS and went on faith. When I pulled up, I didn't see a single sign... but the parking lot was packed, which is the universal sign for "the food is serious in here." Inside, people were waiting everywhere -- a good omen. I wandered around and spotted a refrigerator full of cakes and banana pudding, but I stayed strong. Today was about the real food. Dessert would have to wait. They've got two sections: Food pickup & cashier Ordering counter I checked the menu and had no idea what to choose. So I asked the woman taking orders what Cedarville is known for. She didn't hesitate:"The fried chicken." Say less. I ordered: A fried chicken platter with green beans and mashed potatoes A chicken salad sandwich A BLT I braced myself for a long wait -- the crowd suggested it -- but the food came out surprisingly fast. And the prices? Unbelievable. The kind of prices that make you double‑check the receipt because you assume something's missing. I took everything straight to the family food critics: my mother and big sister. The BLT All three of us agreed: outstanding.I forgot to ask for crispy bacon, but they delivered it anyway. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh, the bacon had the perfect crunch -- a simple sandwich done perfectly. The Chicken Salad Now, I'm a tuna‑salad‑over‑chicken‑salad kind of guy.But my mother and sister? Chicken salad royalty. And even I have to admit -- this sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. They put their own twist on it, and it worked. My mother and sister both stamped it with approval. The Fried Chicken -- The Star I rarely order fried chicken from restaurants because I prefer my wife's or my mother's. But I'm not going to lie...This chicken was outstanding. Perfectly seasoned.Perfectly crispy.Perfectly cooked. My mother and sister were ready to get in the car and go back for more. When they say it's good, it's good. Final Verdict Cedarville Store is exactly what Instagram promised -- a hidden jewel with great food, great prices, and flavors that make you want to return the next day. I'll be back very soon. And next time... I'm not walking past that dessert fridge.

Defiantly not the same style of friendly home style grocery and especially in the luncheon area that used to be Great! Purchased a tuna sandwich got back to work opened the sandwich so much tuna piled on the bread it was soggy and disgusting tossed it. Yesterday my sister and I purchase family size vegetable beef soup " we love it, usually but this time to much tomato stock no beef flavor, only a few pieces of beef and instead of peeled potoatoes like usual they were unpeeled cut in half different sized. Just not the good food we were used to. On another note...barely any item has prices from ice cream to bread/ rolls even milk no prices. Either purchase without the price it half to ask before buying at the cashier! So sad Miss the great market the grocery was as Bowens not as Bones. Infact now that I think about it the new name is all about bare Bones. The owners need to rethink and look into prices and food service area. Thanks.

While the market is on the small side, they maximize space and have quite a few vendors and plenty of parking. Despite being able to conduct a rather brisk walkthrough of the market, I was also able to pick up several items along the way before I headed to another market. Overall, if you're in the area this market is worth a visit. It's also worth considering if you're not in the area but keeping in mind that it's small would be prudent.

Pretty respectable-sized establishment! There were a lot of vendors selling things that were not food/produce. I think I saw more people selling soaps, creams, and body butter than any other product. Great selection to choose from if that's what you're looking for. I ended up having a nice chat with one of the guys who had a nice variety of soaps both scented and unscented. Several vendors were selling potted plants. I imagine the produce stands are more represented in the peak of summer and fall. There were a few when we went (early May) selling some cabbages and other leafy greens as well as some apples and root veggies. At the one end of the parking lot were several trucks hawking food and drinks. I had been told to look for a donut truck, but none to be found the day we went. There was one selling coffees, another selling cold-pressed juices, and another selling pizzas. Bonus: there is a port-a-potty available to all. I've been to bigger markets without one and I think it's brilliant that one is available.
