I don't know if it their IT system, policy or the fact that I paid through Paypal but I am currently in the midst of a two week Ordeal of trying to get a refund. I placed on-line order on the evening of Dec 16th and an hour later called their 800 number to cancel. I was told by the representative that would be no problem. Two days later I got an email that the Item had shipped and my card was billed. First off it has been my experience that most other companies for in store shipment pickup nothing is billed until the customer picks up the merchandise. I immediately called the 800 number again an explained the situation and was told since it was shipped they could not credit my account. I would have to go to the store to pick it up and then the store could issue a refund as return. I then drove the store when the merchandise arrived. The Sales associate brought the merchandise out but said the invoice said no refund and system would not let her. She then was nice enough to call Zales.com and after awhile it turned out since I paid with Paypal they could not issue a refund. I was instructed to take possession of the merchandise and then send it back to them. So again I was given Misinformation from the Zales.com and wasted an hour during Christmas shopping with no refund. As of Today Jan 5th no refund nor had the store even sent the merchandise back to their fulfillment center. Not even could a Zales.com supervisor issue me a refund as that must be done by the fulfillment center when they get the merchandise for which I never took possession. While the supervisor said she will call the local Zales to make sure it was shipped tomorrow and call me back to confirm, this whole experience has left me with a bad taste for the way this company handles customer issues.
