To be honest, I did not take my dog here so I can't comment on the grooming. The only interaction I had with this place was a phone call which left me very stressed out which means likely my dogs would have a stressful experience. The person who answered was the assistant who sounded annoyed, tired, exacerbated, and stressed out just trying to ask me simple questions about my dog. The concerning thing was that it was hard to get an estimate for basic questions, and there needed to be back and forth with the actual groomer. At my previous groomers, this information should be somewhat clear and at least give a price range without a need too much negotiating back and forth... this gives me the impression they make up prices as they go depending on your dogs behavior. She also kept stating that it depends on how the dogs are but having somewhat new dogs who have only been to one groomer previous - how am I supposed to give an exact answer? Anyone with experience with dogs should know that dogs can have many triggers, especially rescues. On top of that I could hear dogs yelping and screaming from distress in the background. I UNDERSTAND that dogs do this anywhere and it's common... but after reading more of the reviews with multiple people taking their dog to the vets afterward, I have a hard time trusting this establishment. Step one to a business is customer service and if they aren't good with people, I can't imagine how they will be with dogs. read more

I used to always bring my dogs here. Up to about a month or two ago, when I picked up my dogs from a haircut and was on my way home, I noticed my shitzu was struggling to open his left eye and had a brown liquid building up. For the reason that my dogs were the last to be ready at 5pm on a Friday, they did not answer when I contacted them to ask if something had happened. I scheduled an appointment with a vet on Saturday all for them to tell me my dog had been stabbed in the dead center of his eye and started to develop a painful ulcer. They gave me medication for weeks and were able to fix it but it made me greatly upset that they lacked professionalism and accountability to tell me they had stabbed my dog in the eye. I understand accidents happen but to not inform me they had stabbed my dog hard enough to the point he had an ulcer is unacceptable. read more

I'm so glad that this groomer has continued to stay in business even through this year with COVID. I take my corgi here about every month or so for a bath and hair & nail trim and even though they're pretty busy, they've always been able to squeeze me in. The owner is always there and she is super nice. The price has stayed consistent and my corgi always comes home super soft and smelling really nice. I haven't really used any other groomer before so I can't really compare as far as the time, but if I drop him off around noon, he's usually ready for me to pick up in the afternoon. They accept cash or checks for payment; I don't usually carry a lot of cash on me so I think it's convenient that they accept personal checks as most business these days don't. read more

My brother has been taking his dog here for several years without incident and had fairly good results. At the end of November, my brother brought his dog in for a grooming as usual. When he took the dog home, he noticed that the white's of his dog's eyes were completely red. He took his dog to the vet, who said that the dog was choked for an extended period of time,(most likely the noose from the groomer's table.) This had not happened before and seems that the owner had brought in someone skittish and inexperienced to groom his dog. In addition to the suspected injury, the groomer was unfamiliar with how to properly trim this dog breed. He has decided to find a new groomer. read more

It has taken me nearly 3 months shy of 1 year to write this review. But during that time I have contemplated on writing the review. After a complaint I heard from a friend the other day about this groomer, I felt it necessary to finally speak up. Back on Friday, April 5, 2019, my dad and I brought my dog in to be groomed so he could look all nice and spiffy for when my brother came home from boot camp from the USMC. We dropped our dog off at 9am and the lady there stated he should be done in a couple of hours. Now usually we take both of our dogs together to be groomed but for some reason that day we didn't take the 2nd one in. My dad gets the call at 4:10pm to be told that he's ready for pick up. He goes to pick up our dog and brings him home. Our dog immediately runs to his water bowl and drinks the entire bowl of water. He walks half way into the yard and immediately collapses. Our little dog comes to get my dad and when my dad saw that he collapsed he ran out to him and noticed that our dog was foaming at the mouth. My dad loaded him up into the car and rushes him to the hospital. I immediately call the Diamond Bar Grooming and a lady answered. I asked her if they gave him any treats and they said no. Then I asked if they gave him water or anything at all. The lady responded with no, we didn't give him treats or water at all. Your dad tried to give him a treat but he wouldn't take it. But we didn't give him anything at all while he was here. I met my dad at the vet and after testing the doctor came out and said your dog is bloating and we need to get him into surgery immediately. The doctor explained to us that he bloated from drinking his water too fast due to DEHYDRATION and stress. Our dog went into emergency surgery and fortunately survived. However, on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 4:30am my dad and I had to take him to the emergency room because he was no longer eating drinking water. After speaking with the doctor there and after they ran tests they said that there was nothing they could do. We explained everything to the doctor and she said that we have done way more than any other owner would have done. She stated normally an owner wouldn't spend thousands of dollars to save a dogs life. But in my family our dogs our part of the family and we will do whatever it takes. Unfortunately, 2 hours later we had to put our baby down, which was 3 days before my brother graduated and came home from bootcamp. When visiting my brother the day before graduation he kept asking about our dog and we had to tell him what happened. Now we had been taking our dogs to get groomed here for years and maybe in our case it was unfortunate that things happened the way they did that day but I will NEVER take another one of my dogs to be groomed here. The groomer can say whatever they want in response to this review. But nothing that they do or say will ever bring Bolt back. I just hope that the groomer at least starts giving the animals water and stops keeping them for hours on end. The groomer we go to now gets our babies back to us within an 1 hour and 15 mins or less depending on which dog it is. Our animals should not have to spend an entire day at the groomers locked in a kennel without any water at all. read more

IGNORE all other reviews about this place...they have been nothing but GREAT to our family since 1996!!! We first starting taking our baby jindo and pomeranian there in 1996...until both of them passed. :( Then last year we got two corgis and went back and they still provide the same excellent care and customer service compared to other grooming places. The staff there TRULY cares about your pets! The prices are great! The work performed is SUPERB! I am one EXTREMELY satisfied customer and would recommend their services to anyone in a heartbeat! I must say I am extremely disappointed about this provider. I do not wish bad things for their business, but I am going to simply write this review so other people will be aware of formalities and service that may or may not be rendered to them. I brought my husky in for an emergency cleaning. I contacted them ahead of time to assure that they will have the time to take care of him. She asked why I wasn't using my normal groomer and discussion going, immediately starting throwing shade onto other local groomers. That is completely unprofessional and rude to attack other people in which you may not even know is just plane cruel. Regardless, dog was a hot mess and I needed to get him done. She didn't ask for any records at all for rabbies or anything else. I asked her if they are required, (He has all of his complete and up to date) and she said they are not necessary. *Odd, as this is a health hazard for EVERYONE that brings in a pet here. Almost everyone else I contacted all required vaccination records! I get to the shop, and I meet the lady, first off parking/dropoff is a night mare. No business signs or operational hours AT ALL!. Door was being held open by a bunch of rolled magazines. I get in, Hair EVERYWHERE!, Rusty gross floors, Tables for dogs, have chewed destroyed and falling apart. Nothing looked clean at all. Store smelt like dog $&*%, and associates looked busted and trashed. I did not feel all that comfortable leaving my dog there, but he was *A MESS!* Pricing was estimated at exactly what I am used to, not complaining yet about that. I gave specific instructions to the Manager Old Blonde Lady, to furmenate him (Deshed) and if he needs a trim for his summer cut, to use no less than a 1inch clipper. Its freaking hot lately! Just saying. I also said no perfumes as he has a skin irritation. Im also noticing that other girl going in there. And using the same blades going back and forth from dog to dog using the same scissors and clippers, without as much as even a rinse! She acted as if she understood, I turn him over, they save 4 to 5 hours, have a nice day and they will call when he's done. I feel at ease looking at the other dogs being groomed as they appear to be doing ok with them. So, 4 to 5 hours go by, still no call that he's ready, its closing time. I get a VM saying he's been done and where am I? On my way, I get another call saying to only bring cash or check? I am like in the parking lot, so I have to stop and go get cash. Because for some reason, they don't take ANY cards. But checks? Really? People bounce those all the time. I come back, excited to see me boy on the table. Shes trimming him with scissors, and one hand squeezing his nuts. He looks mad uncomfortable as he is trying to get her to let go! He is a very gentle and well behaved dog and doesn't need aggressive restraint to be groomed. He gets it done 1 to 2 times a month. I am JAW TO THE FLOOR! SHE SHAVED MY DOG 1/4" to his skin! His head looked ridiculous and like a ra-tard! He went from being a BLACK fluffy husky to a skinny white shaved looking dweb. I asked what she used on him, and she said a 1 blade. I said, let me see your blade, and the blade she used was a #1 1/4inch blade, not a #4 1inch blade, per my SPECIFIC instructions. It is incredibly dangerous to shave any furry husky wolf bred down that far past the undercoat, as it may interfere with regrowth. I am extremely upset and I try to hold my composure. She keeps telling me he looks fine and it will grow back nicely. Ugh, NO! I refuse to pay her the full amount and she tells me, no money no dog. DOESN'T EVEN TRY to be nice about HER MISTAKE and take ownership and trys to withhold my dog from me! I pay her the 80 bucks just to get him out of there. I get home, and dog is licking his manhood and I take another closer look and he is COMPLETLY INFLAMMED and has blade cuts all over his genitals. I AM PISSED! He hasn't stop scratching from the perfume that they used and had to go and pay another groomer to fix her mistakes. Worst groomers EVER! But hey, you make your decisions and take the risk. The other reviews are true - the shop can smell, it looks dirty/cluttered, and the owner can be rude. The prices can also be pretty high and seem to change with no explanation - I was getting charged $75 for my 2 dogs (a 5lb Maltese and a 35lb sheepdog) for some visits but was paying $110 during other visits. When I tried asking the owner what was up with that, she would just say my dogs were difficult that day. Okaaay... I was annoyed but I put up with all of the above because, despite everything, the owner really is good at grooming. But the final straw came when I brought my sheepdog in the last time. Picked him up and when I got home I noticed that he kept licking his stomach. On further inspection, his skin was really red and irritated. Over the next 3 days, the red irritation turned into a pus-oozing wound! I took him to the vet who said the skin was broken and got infected. I spent over $100 on the vet and for meds, and my dog had to stay in one of those cone collars for 2 weeks. His wound was oozing for days until it finally scabbed over. I tried calling the groomer and calmly explaining to her what had happened and asked her to please be more careful next time. Well instead of just owning up to it and saying sorry, she completely blamed it on me saying that my dog must have had the infection before he was groomed! I got so upset, I just hung up on her. Absolutely never taking my dogs back there again. If I could give negative stars, I would. Edit: I also forgot to mention that the groomer here never once asked me for vaccination records. I was somewhat uninformed before, but I now know that that's really negligent - puts all the dogs there at risk for contracting a bunch of different diseases. read more

We were taking our dogs over 20 years do DB Grooming. One Friday I called at 1:00 p.m. and asked it if was OK in the afternoon to bring our Yellow Lab in and possible to have a bath and buzz cut. Normally I would bring her in the morning. They said no problem. I called and told them I was coming to pick her at 4 p.m. because we were going out. She only had a bath and was told to bring here in Saturday morning (first lie and disappointment). Brought here in at 9:10 A.m. and the girl said she would be ready in an hour. I needed to pic her up because I had to be somewhere. I called at 10:15 and she said she still was not ready. I called at 10:30 and said I was coming to pick her up. They tried again to stall me. The reason they were stalling me they were trying to stop her from bleeding from cuts and nicks. Do not take your dog there unless you want to be lied too or be cut up. Obviously I would give them a ZERO if I could and will not be back. RESPONSE TO OWNERS COMMENT- It is all ludicrous. Those are all the facts. I would still want to use them after 20 years because they are very close by if this did not happen. Now I am willing to drive a lot farther. Those are all the facts and my spouse will attest of all of them. That is a last resort of the owner of try to refute this review. What would you expect them to do? read more

NEVER take your pet here. I took my little doggie here once, and a few days later I had to take my dog to the vet to clear up an ear infection. Oh and he got fleas too. This place is dirty and all the workers except for the guy are very rude. The owner (an old lady with bleached blonde hair) is the worst of the bunch, and I saw her literally cuss out an Asian customer when I was picking up my dog. I've been taking my dogs here for as long as I can remember and I have not been dissappointed by their services. The people who work here are really nice and none of my dogs have complained :p. For me, the price is REALLY REASONABLE and I have 2 dogs. Both are mutts. Chelsea is a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix & Bogart is a shepard mix (SUPER HAIRY DOG!). Granted they don't take CC, but at least they take checks if you don't have cash with you. There is an ATM across the street @ the Shell gas station if u don't have ur checkbook with u. read more

First of all, even though their official name is Diamond Bar Grooming. But the big sign that is clearly visible from the street is "D Grooming". Anyway, I took my two dogs in for hair cut and nail clipping. (Terrier mix for shaving off the hair for the summer plus nail clipping, and weimaraner is just for nail clipping.) They cut one of the nail of my weimaraner too short and caused substantial bleeding. I confronted the owner. (In calm and collective manner of course.) She explained that the dog may have struggled while clipping which resulted in shorter cut then usual. She offered some medicine, keep the dog in the shop for a while to make sure the bleeding stops, and a free bath. I think that is very reasonable response. I waited few days before entering rating and comment. I would have just given them one star right after the instance, for what the dog has suffered, messy blood stains my wife has to clean up in the house (quite a bit) and the blood I have to clean up on my car seat. Clearly none of these would have happened if the nail clipping is done professionally. After all, that is their job, they should know better. To be fair, I give one more star to represent their professional response of their mistake. As for pricing, I paid $60 for shaving off the hair, bath for terrier mix, and nail clipping for both dogs. I'm not sure I would go back, even though they are the closest one. I certainly will start looking around for a better shop. read more

I can't really comment on hair grooming, but I take my min pin here to get her nails trimmed. She has grown out quicks from her previous owner that I have been dealing with for quiet a while. Needless to say, my min pin hates having her nails trimmed and she freaks out whenever she knows that is going to happen. The ladies here are able to cut her nails quickly without cutting the quicks with minimal stress to my min pin. I've had her nails trimmed other places and it usually takes two people to cut and grind her nails because she tries to get away, not here. Very professional and caring. The price for a nail trim is also about two to four dollars cheaper than other places I have tried in the area. read more

Brought my lab/pit mix here to get a wash, which included the works. In the end, it was $25 and she came out smelling cleeeeeean. Why only 3 stars? Service was OK, not bad, but not great. Place looks like it could use a good cleaning. Kind of odd since you're technically a cleaning service. They don't accept Credit Cards. I had to go get cash out of the ATM at Shell across the street. My dog came out with all kinds of shedded white hair all over her shiny clean jet black coat. They took care of this right away but still, not what I want to see when I'm picking up my just-washed dog. Overall, I'll keep this place in mind since it's convenient and the prices aren't bad but I'll start looking into other places as well. read more
