A sweet little motel. The driveway is unpaved and bumpy, the feel is very "ma and pa", and the office manager is very friendly. We had a good conversation. She didn't have a mask though, somewhat discourteous. We had driven as far as we wanted on a dark, lengthy interstate and this was a nice place to stay for the night. All and all, it was a pleasant experience. It had all that was needed. Now for some criticisms- The hotel room smelled very clean, as clean sheets should, but there were a few small hairs on nearly every linen we found. The towels, sheets, pillow cases, and so we ended up remaking the bed with our own sheets and pillows. We hardly looked for dirt/hairs too. The washing machine and dryer traps may be dirty. The shower and room had a few stains, and needs to look less old and dated to get a perfect review. The remote for the TV was missing from the room as well after a quick search, and the TV could not be programmed manually. We could of called the front desk, but we just turned the TV off. All the shampoos and soaps were small little packets. Sterile but somewhat tacky. The handles on many drawers were broken, and the carpet was stained too. So that was unattractive. The door had a lot of space, so insulation was poor. It was cold in the room. But there was a heater if needed. Kinda loud. Everything else seemed to be in good condition for a quick stay! read more

We stopped here for a one night stay as we were heading through town. The manger of the Diamond A Motel is extremely sweet and immediately made us feel at home! Most of Rural Nevada is invested with large crickets, but we did not have to worry about them in our room! We were extremely comfortable in our beds with amazing air conditioning, super hot water, and a nice TV to watch a show. Would definitely stop here again! read more

I would give the Diamond A zero stars if I could, we planned to stay here and after driving over 700 miles and 12 hours, checking in, we left our room and opted to drive another 150 miles to Burns, OR. Cheap rates, dirty rooms, spider in the corner and on the bed, body hair on the sheets and a giant beetle walking along the floor. Don't waste your time. read more

A low budget trucker friendly motel. All you can expect. We were very lucky to came across this little gem. We been through this area millions of times and never realized this motel even exist. We weren't planning on staying in the area but it started snowing. We were force to park it since we were pulling an oversized load. When I was looking on the google map this hotel did not show up and the only other hotel was Roadway Inn. Roadway was charging $100 which does not seem worth it when it already 11pm and you have to leave again at 6am. When we came into town we saw the Diamond Motel sign and that they take CDL. The motel had a dirt parking lot which was better then not having a parking area for a oversize load. Customer service was very friendly. They book us in and we got to the room very quickly. The room was very run down but it had all the amentias for a great night stay and it was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower even worked better then more fancier hotels I have been in. need less to say....I will be coming back here when I need to read more

After sleeping in my car last night due to Corporate Chain Motel policies requiring a photo ID, (I lost my TX DL and cannot get duplicate til OCT 16 thanks to the COVID SCAM PLANNEDemic) I stopped at the Diamond A and secured a clean comfortable room that beats Motel 6 price all to hades. AC, fridge, Microwave, and lights all work. The Manager is Carole. Sharp, down to earth, and very helpful. Hampton Inn types would rate this little jewel low because it's old....no other reason! This motel was a blessing. It was late. We were tired. No way were we going to get to our regular target. It isn't new but it was very clean. The heater worked. There's great internet TV if that's important. The beds are reasonably comfortable. Do give it a try. read more

The staff went out of their way to make my uncle comfortable after he took a fall at a nearby restaurant. Steve went out of his way to make an ice pack for him and checked in later on him. Thanks again Steve. This was our third anual stay and I noticed the renovations being undertaken to make our stay better. I will stay at the diamond A next time. read more

We had driven from Washington after 10 hours and out of gas. All we wanted was a place to recover. we were greeted by a friendly face and said are you ***. How sweet was that. We were so happy to get accommodations that were comfortable, clean and cool. Thank you for making our travels a little bit more pleasant. Thank you. read more

Dirty room. I don't think it had been cleaned in a while. The tub was filthy and Full of hairs. Hairs on the floor too). Flooring pulled away from the tub full of crud. Sink dirty. (I wanted to sleep in our truck. The bathroom door was warped and wouldn't shut. Tv barely worked. It kept freezing. Bed was awful. If I could give it a lower rating I would. Tiny room only had a single queen bed for $70 dollars a night! What a bargain. All the hotels along our route were full so we drove 12 hours and had to stop. read more

Diamond A Motel - Bathtub was FULL of hairs - Hotels Near Me - Mc Dermitt, Nevada

When checking in, you could see her living quarters through the window, that should have our first clue. Very cluttered and very run down. Looking at the cards near the registration window from others who'd stayed there who raved they "were treated like royalty" and "we'll be back on our way back through " made me think maybe I was being too judgemental. Once we got to our room there was an Overwhelming stench of urine. Live bugs in the sink. Pubes on the edge of tub. Bathroom was filthy. Used wash rag left hanging on the shower curtain rod. Microwave and refrigerator was disgusting, very dusty/dirty. Door looked like it had been kicked in. I brought in our own blanket to lay on one of the two lumpy, uncomfortable beds. We kicked our shoes off and kept our clothes on and tried to sleep the best we could. Had we not just traveled from Southern Idaho through Oregon and into McDermott, we would have camped out as planned but night fell too soon and were left with no other option. I have never felt so gross after being in a hotel before. I should have slept in my pick up. Could not wait to get out of there and my blanket and anything that was brought in was thrown in the back of the pick up to be deep washed when I get home. I feel like anything we took in there was contaminated with the stench and unsanitary conditions. Don't believe me? Look at the pictures. I wish you could smell what we did. Save your money, sleep in your vehicle or in the parking lot out back, you'll have a better experience. Will be filing a complaint with the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health to inspect it. read more

We're two Oregon Desert Trail thru hikers and it doesn't take much to please us but this place was great. Half the price of the place across the street and Carol the manager is the sweetest human being you could ever hope to meet. She made our stay perfect. The place was clean with a fridge and a microwave and they have Visio AirPlay/Chromecast enabled smart TV's so you can stream whatever you want. Can't beat this place for the price. read more

Friendly people. Rooms adequate for overnite while on the road. Rates very reasonable. Plan to stay there again on my next trip.

Older but clean. Everything you can hope for in a low budget room... new TV, good wifi, sheets smell like fresh laundry, good working minifridge and microwave, free coffee in the morning, and a very nice couple owns the place. My husband reserved a room for me as I was arriving late night with my 2 year old and the mountain drive is a little unnerving, so the kindness of the gentleman who was awake to check me in was very much appreciated. Added bonuses, you can watch watch Netflix and all your streamers on TV. read more

Got in about 11pm, Saturday night needing a room, rang bell for service, no answer, there was a note with 2 phone numbers to call, one no answer no call back, the second was turned off for not paying their bill. So we had to head to Burns as we were driving north. 2.5 hours longer. read more

We had a reservation but when we got to the motel, no one answered the door or the phone. This is the only motel in town so we had to drive another 70 miles in the middle of the night to Winnemucca. read more
