DHL makes everything so difficult. Based on my 15 years of experience with them. The shipment better not be time-sensitive -it takes several days to set up a shipment (this does not include time waiting on the truck to show for the pickup). You & the receiver must have an account and you must have the approval of both accounts This is the issue; the approvals never go smoothly - waiting to get the it, or the approval gets lost in data heaven. DHL customer service is little help. After the customer sent us screen shots of the acceptance & an email: "We do not show the acceptance of the customer" ~DHL Any other express international carrier is better, quicker, and easier to use. After gaining said approvals, it take 1 or 2 days for them to pickup. DHL Boston used to be very reliable. I would often times get my packages before the estimated delivery time. Not anymore. My latest package was supposed to arrive on 4/10/25. It was at the delivery facility in Boston on that day. The next update had it in the UK. How does that even happen. I contacted multiple DHL associates about this. I kept getting the run-around and passed to the next person. My package finally found its way back to Boston. It was even out for delivery this time. The next update I got: "Delivery attempt could not be completed". I have a signature release on the package and nobody came to my house all day. So, I'm looking at five days late at the minimum. Earlier in the day I received an email from a customer care advisor that they were closing my ticket because my package was out for delivery. So frustrating! read more

I stayed home all day, contacted customer service to ask for an ETA, and when the window they gave me passed I reached back out to customer service. While on hold, I get a text telling me that they attempted delivery but no one was home (blatant and purposeful lie). I finally got back on with customer service who said that a manager would get back to me, but they could attempt again. Expecting the same *non*-service, I asked to speak to a manager. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. DHL is the worst service in the world. I'm so infuriated by the lack of competence anyone has working there. My package was supposed to get here 3 days prior to now, and I still haven't gotten it. When I call in, I am never transferred to a live agent who can help. And when I finally do or if I am talking with someone on the DHL page on their chat window, they have absolutely no information on where my package is or when it will be located. The drivers are lazy! I tracked the app to see where the driver was last night when I got a message saying "It's on its way soon!" and I saw the driver was just a town over. 1 Star is too much The delivery driver tried to steal my package. On 12/19/19, I was waiting for my package to arrive by 8pm and around 7:52 pm I received an email that said the delivery address was incorrect. I spoke with c/s who scheduled it to be delivered the following day. I called in the morning and was told my package was loaded on the truck and would be delivered by 2pm. Called at 2pm because I had not received my package. I was then told that the package was loaded then taken off the truck. I asked "why?". There was no reason given. No one in c/s knew the address to the DHL express center or at-least wouldn't give it to me. The customer service rep named "Nicole" told me "I can't give that address out". I demanded to speak with a manager and was told by the representative named "Nicole", that "the manager isn't here right now". Are you *** joking!!???! I continued to demand that "Nicole" allow me to speak with a manager and send me an email confirmation referring to my complaint. She said that the managers were doing call backs and I would have to wait on hold for an hour. She also said she couldn't email me. So I decided to stay on hold. Meanwhile I googled DHL and the address 420 E St, South Boston, MA 02127 popped up. So guess where I headed....yup. The manager got on the line after 6 minutes of waiting, not an hour, and I went through my entire spew. Another person in c/s who knows nothing and can't do nothing. The one thing he did was send the DHL center and email letting them know I was on my way. I arrived and after giving my tracking number guess what popped up 30 seconds later..... my package! I came in to DHL today after their drivers failed to show up for a scheduled pickup at my address twice. The package was all set to be accepted by the carrier with the return label secured on the front. When I arrived I opened the door and Michelle Zamorski, the middle aged brunette woman at the counter, yelled at me to stay in the hallway until I was asked to come inside. As she was with another customer and due to covid concerns, I totally understood this request, although I thought she could have asked nicer instead of yelling. Once I was instructed to come inside I placed my package on the counter and explained that I just wanted to drop it off since the driver didn't come for the scheduled pickups. The return label was provided by the merchant and secured to the front of the box. Michelle said I had to show my ID, which was in the car parked right in front. When I returned from my car two minutes later, I was surprised to see that Michelle had ripped my package open (without my permission) and the contents and paperwork that were inside the box were now strewn about the counter. She was frantically writing what she called "instructions to customs" on the paperwork that I had sealed in the package stating that "I had the incorrect return documents". She was huffing and puffing and visibly upset, so I asked her nicely, "Do you not want to ship my package?" For reasons unknown to me, at this moment she became visibly enraged, and responded with, "What did you just say to me?" I was confused, because my question was not offensive or rude at all, I literally just wanted to know if I should just go somewhere else with the package because it seemed like it was too much for her. I calmly asked again, "Are you not able to accept the shipment?" Her response was "You are asking as if I have a choice. Yes I am able to accept it." So I said, "Okay, may I just have a receipt?" I feel like this is a standard request when dropping off a high value shipment. I just wanted to be sure it was actually going to be shipped because of what had just occurred. Her response to me asking for a receipt was, "Absolutely not. We do not give receipts". At this point I was so uncomfortable from being mistreated and actually a bit scared, so I said, "I think I will just leave." Needless to say, I still have a package that needs to be shipped and I hope I never have to encounter this angry woman again. read more

No stars would be more accurate. Today they sent my package with a courier from Boston to Maine at 2:11PM. It had arrived in Boston that morning via Cincinnati having left Tokyo yesterday. At 4:52 DHL decided that "due to the adverse weather conditions, the shipment could not be delivered." The weather is clear, sunny, in the mid to upper 20's. When I called "Customer (dis)Service" they told me that it was unsafe due to the multi-vehicle accident in Texas! The package was never delivered. The driver lied in the system that it was signed by a concierge in the building, while there is no concierge in that building. When we start looking for the package, he changed the story that he left it in the mail room. The package was never there, we have been monitoring mail room since I saw a fake sign-off in the tracking system. I am on the phone for 5 days with various customer service representatives with no result. They can not even provide a GPS location of where the package was delivered. I don't provide reviews often. I don't think I've ever given a review of less than 3 stars to anyone. My experience with DHL has been miserable and I can't move on without making sure others know about my zero star experience. I ordered a 4 piece sectional sofa. Tracking details indicated it had arrived at local warehouse and was awaiting delivery. 3 of the pieces were delivered to our building on 12/17. For whatever strange reason, the 4th item was not, and supposedly held back at the local warehouse. I receive notification at 5:57pm on 12/23 that the 4th piece was successfully delivered to our building (the same as the first delivery) and signed by a concierge named, "Alex." At 6:15pm (18min later) I walk downstairs and ask the front desk for the package. They received nothing. It's a new building, I'm one of 20 residents, there is one room for package deliveries, and nothing was received. Furthermore, there is no one named "Alex" at the concierge!!! Let me repeat... the delivery notification indicates that "Alex concierge" signed for the package at 5:57. At 6:15, I find out that not only is there no package to be found at the building, but there is no such person who works here. At this point, anyone would be frustrated but I realize that mistakes happen and the delivery must have been made to a different building in the area. This is when I contact DHL. I was told that they would request GPS coordinates from the local warehouse at 420 E street in South Boston, 02127. They would call me back the next day and we'd know which building the delivery was made to. It took two weeks, 3 "escalations" and 5 call backs reporting no information before I receive a voicemail this morning. The voicemail said, "we finally heard back from the local station, they confirmed the delivery was made to your building, we're closing the file and won't be following up. You may wish to file a claim with the vendor or call your credit card company and dispute charges." I call back to request these mysterious gps coordinates that supposedly prove the delivery was made to my building and signed by a mysterious concierge. DHL indicates that these coordinates are for "internal use only" and can't be released. I just have to take their word on it. -A bizarre delay on 1/4 packages. -A supposed delivery that never arrived -A concierge who signed for it who doesn't work here -2 weeks of no responses from the local warehouse on the coordinates -A voicemail indicating the same warehouse has confirmed the delivery was made to the building but to take their word on it because they have an unwillingness to share the coordinates with the customer This entire experience has been miserable. Non existent Customer service. Poor expectation setting. Beyond reasonable delays. A total lack of follow through and accountability. There is zero proof that DHL delivered to my building and I have zero faith they are telling me the truth about gps coordinates. They say they deliver things when they never do, leave things in terrible locations, and in general, don't seem to care if you get your package or not. They usually also deliver to the post office, and then the post office delivers it....it's not a customer first sort of service, as if DHL says the postal service has it, you have to call the postal service. Waited over a week for dhl "express" delivery. Was told it would be delivered on the tenth, then the 11th by end of day. Took the day out of work because a signature was required. Package didn't arrive. Just checked tracking... again. My package was transferred to a "business partner" for delivery... no other info. Had to call customer service to find out where it is. I was told it was delivered to USPS (and UNDERinsured) for delivery and was given a usps tracking number. Tracked again to find out that a shipping label has been made but receipt has not yet happened so there is no further info and I have no idea when or if it will ever get here. WHY ARE WE PAYING EXTRA FOR SPECIALIZED DELIVERY FOR THE DELIVERY SERVICE TO MAIL IT TO THE POST OFFICE??????????? DHL does not stand for Delivered Hours Late, as a whole this company is one of the best companies overseas, they are owned by German Dutch Post, financial strong and reliable. The problem is in Boston MA. The management there is weak and not very service oriented. They seem to care more about profit than service. Their drivers are union, most of them care about service but their hands are tied behind their back. One my package leave US and Boston, they get delivered on time most of the time, deliveries however are a different story. DHL has very low capacity, their drivers cover 3 to 5 zipcodes and are stretch thin, again here is where the nickle and dime comes in. They cut routes at the cost of service. Often deliveries are un-attempted, phones are unanswered and billing is usually a mess. They often over charge for their service, so always audit your bills. Boston Management is very creative when it comes to billing, they will find ways to turn a $200 shipment into $500.00, my advice is use a reliable DHL center like Neighborhood Parcel of Lowell (neighborhoodParcel.com) they will deal for DHL on your behalf and wont overcharge you. As a matter of fact, once you pay, their are no extra invoices or headaches later. Their rates are ofter 10 to 30% less than DHL.com read more

Today (mar 21) at 2:51pm, I saw a DHL van (with either VT or NH license plate) approaching me on Brackett Road in Rye, NH. As I was training my puppy, I walked off the street (we have no sidewalks in our town) about 4 feet away from the road line onto a dirt/grass area. The DHL van purposely drove off the road onto the dirt where I was standing and then swerved to miss me and my dog. His speed never changed nor did I see any brake lights. I've waited all day for a DHL delivery. After getting off the phone with DHL who confirmed my package was not delivered, I checked the DHL website and found that it said my package had been signed for and delivered. I called DHL back and they said now their system shows it signed for and delivered. This is impossible. I was here and signed for nothing. Update: DHL called me back the next day and said they were looking into it. The company I purchased from also said they were looking into it. DHL came at noon the next day and delivered the package. How does DHL even stay in business? A package from Europe was scheduled to be delivered to me in Mass. on Oct. 3. It wasn't. I followed tracking, and the package eventually appeared at a DHL depot in New Jersey, where it sat for a while. Then tracking said that it was given to USPS for home delivery, as was expected, but the USPS tracking number proved useless. DHL tracking said that USPS had it, but USPS denied it. First, I sent an email to DHL and got a reply - I kid you not - telling me to wait another 24 hours before asking a question. I did wait, submitted by query again - and got no reply. So I decided to call DHL instead. Finding no immediate contact info for DHL ecommerce shipping, I called DHL in Boston and was given another number to call. I called that number, and got a recording telling me to call yet another number. (See where this is going?) I called that number and spoke with someone who apologized, telling me that DHL tracking info isn't accurate right now, due to (ta! da!) a technical issue. This nice person did do some additional checking. He told me that my package is now at a DHL depot in Wrentham, Mass. which is just 42 minutes away from me in Boston (yay!) but that it will take another (drum roll please) SIX days to get delivered. (boo!) So instead of delivery on Oct. 3, delivery will be on (maybe, ya think?) Oct. 16 (of this year I hope) providing that DHL truck engines aren't affected by solar flares, porpoise migrations, or social unrest in Latvia. This is freaking nuts! In the future I will ask any overseas seller before buying to NOT use DHL. Not my first experience like this with this company. I have sent my imp documents thru DHL for 50 SGD from Singapore to Pune, which would actually had costed me just 20 SGD for any other courier like first flight. These people have given the delivery to completely different person than the person name on the to. There was no chit at door to call back. Simply saying delivered to wrong guy on online status. The document was very important one. The complaint is written and we are waitng to see if something can be done. Please don't ever use DHL if you want to send the courier to India. Tracking info says 2 were delayed due to adverse weather conditions 4. No revised delivery date has been provided on the tracking info 5. There are no reported adverse weather conditions so why are they lying? 6. I have since contact both the UK and US Customer Service team to ask them to find out what is happening 7. Consistently unhelpful as they just repeat what is in the system 8. Received notification that parcels will be delivered instead on Wednesday 18th but they did not arrive 9. Received notification that parcels will be delivered on Thursday 19th but this is not reflected on the tracking info and I have no confidence that these will be delivered today 10. I raised the urgency on this today and had a call from UK Customer Services to say they will check and get back to me on Monday 23rd - why not today? I would have given them No STARS, if I could have. After receiving a call from them yesterday saying that my package would be delivered today, I did everything possible to make it easy for them! I got up at 6 am and left signed notes w/ tracking # at both my front and back doors (they told me in phone call that I could do this if I wanted package left).
