He looked the situation over closely and told me what I needed and gave me the name of a company that does that type of work. My neighbor asked for his opinion on her situation and he said her guttering was too small for the volume of water. He sent a crew out four days later and completed the job for her. One of the crew members noticed something had been done wrong by another company when he got up on the roof. She is going to have Eldon and Sons correct that before it becomes a bigger issue. I also had two replacement windows go bad. I called Jerry at Eldon and Sons and he ordered the replacements which were installed the day they did my neighbor's guttering job. No charge. No hassle. They were glad to take care of the problem. If all businesses related to construction and otherwise did business the way Eldon and Sons does, there would be a lot more happy homeowners. Too often I hear nightmare stories about home repair companies and I cringe. I never hestitate to refer anyone to Eldon and Sons. That includes my fellow yelpers!

Those two things already puts them head and shoulders above the rest. When he arrived he actually got up on the roof to try and determine the problem. He was knowledgeable about gutters and explained what covers I had, how they worked, and what he was looking for. Once he found the problem, we had one clogged gutter that he cleared. Noticed when we bought our home a few years back that there were new gutters and downspouts, except for a key area around our side porch. One group told us "oh, you can't have gutters there based on blah blah blah." I was discouraged and went another rainy season without them, only to have water slapping off the sides and messing with the foundation around it. This group came out, sized it up quickly, explained how they would go about putting gutters on, and that it wouldn't be difficult. I think the group who said I couldn't have gutters on this part was speaking in code for: this is a small job and we don't want to do it. Fortunately, the Gutter Cover crew did. They were really booked out, so we put this on the calendar and waited a month or so. This was one area for improvement. After I signed on to have the work done, there was zero communication, no emails, follow ups, calendar reminders, nothing. I even forgot about it, so I gave them a call to check in and then I was put on the calendar for the following day. Not a big deal, but a confirmation email would've been nice. The work was done quickly, and while it's dusty and dry with no rain in sight, I'm sure they'll hold up well. One thing I want to add to close this out. It isn't the biggest job, and the name of the biz is Gutter Cover, so naturally they would want to sell me on those. The guy I visited with picked up quickly that it wasn't of interest to me at this time, and wasn't pushy or rude. I really appreciated that and it gave me confidence to book them.
