My friend and I attended Yin Yoga with Reiki and Sound hosted by Aluminea and she was wonderful. I have been to many yoga studios before but none with bolsters and blankets. They have a lot of on site equipment to make sure you have a supported experience. This class was slow paced, focused on mindfulness, and exploration. The crystal bowls and the Reiki frequencies were beautiful to listen to while we held poses. Aluminea was a fantastic guide for our one hour session, and I highly recommend trying it. read more

We had a lovely experience with Dharma Yoga's mobile yoga. For my birthday we had a morning session at our rental house outside near the pool. Cute ambiance. A little rough around the edges on the Hatha direction. Truly felt invisible which isn't all bad actually. But not friendly at all and less than top level verbal cues. It's how yoga can become a problem for the body when care isn't taken to guide with thorough cues. read more

There aren't very many yoga studios in North County, so I really want to be able to like this place. I have waited to write this review, because I have never actually taken a class but the reason I haven't taken a class is the staffs attitude right when I come through the door. Every year I stop in and hope the vibe will be different, and every year it's the same. I can never tell who is staff and who is just loitering around, because no one greets you when you walk in. When I attempt to ask questions about classes or products I feel like I am interrupting the conversation in the room and am a burden. I am done trying to come here. read more

Wow, what a difference! I finally got to try Dharma Yoga Loft now that it's been under new ownership, and it's a whole different experience. The instructors seem like they genuinely want to be there and care about the quality of their classes. You can pay and book online quickly and conveniently via MindBody. (No more of that annoying cash only business!) Also, the warm yoga option is a great transition to hot yoga - I have a hard time jumping right into hot yoga after not taking that type of class for a while. I have been 5 times now and am liking the variety of classes and times offered here compared to other gyms and studios in the area. Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. The reason for the 3 stars is that they cram way too many people in the hot yoga classes where you can't properly do some positions and a few times the instructor had nowhere for their mat so they couldn't demonstrate and just stood there. Also, the hot yoga room smells strange. I recommend requiring people to book their spot online and have a cut off so those who can take the classes get the full benefits because these classes are expensive. read more

I took prenatal yoga classes from Jena during my pregnancy. I looked forward to each class and came away feeling refreshed and relaxed. It was great having discussions about pertinent topics that come up during pregnancy with guest speakers including doulas and holistic health practitioners. Jena was wonderful at providing options at each level and making me feel comfortable while making sure poses were executed correctly. I attended classes from 18 weeks until I was 41 weeks pregnant and I am convinced that the practice made my birthing process easier and my recovery quick. I was back to pre-pregnancy weight within 3 months. The center also offers classes for new moms and regular yoga classes along with retreats. I will definitely be back; highly recommended. read more

Based on the other review on this page I did not try Dharma Yoga when I moved here late last year. A few weeks ago a good friend said she did Yoga at Dharma and invited me. I am so glad that I went because I love this studio and the teachers. The room is very comfortable with just the right amount of students. The teachers are all very educated and dedicated to their practice. They are great at giving instruction and options for all levels and are very careful of any injuries or issues you may have. I feel that this is as nice or nicer than any studio I went to down south. I would recommend anyone looking for a studio to give it a try. Now if I could just find a great Pilates studio?? read more

Have been participating in yoga at Dharma in Paso for 2 years now. It is the friendliest yoga studio I have ever been to. A wide range of instructors, levels, creativity in classes and poses are available. Each offers their own style of yoga and have such creative and fun classes. I so appreciate having Dharma studio. I really wanted to like this studio, seeing as its the only one in my home town. I found myself visiting good ole Paso for a bit so I purchased the unlimited month pass. After the first class was over I had decided to remain in Savasana for a few extra mintues. However as soon as the class was over, the instructor a few feet behind me was trying to get other students to sign a petition to get an issue involving: making it mandatory for girls under 18 to get consent from their parents to get an abortion, on the ballot. What the junk?? At a yoga studio?? I was definitely turned off, but seeing as its the only one in Paso and I already paid for the month I decided to give it another go. Second class I took was alright, then the same thing happened the third class. Different instructor, different petition, this time I was too grossed out by the inappropriate political nonsense to pay attention and left right away. I'm just confused, why is this kind of space being created at a yoga studio? That was that last class I was able to take here. Being a bit obsessed with yoga I did try to take more. My plan was to just take the class and leave immediately after. PART 2 OF MY RANT: My family lives in Heritage Ranch. So to come into town to take a class I have to drive 20 minutes. No big deal I normally don't mind it, except the class was canceled. Only way of finding out was by going to the stuido, walking in and seeing a paper on the door saying cancel. This happened four times in a row! Four classes within a week and a half canceled with no update on the website or anything. Pretty not cool for a studio that doesn't have many classes to begin with. Gave up after that. So that's it, that's my rant. Reluctantly highly disappointed. read more

I am 60 years old and not in the best shape and was very intimidated about the thought of trying yoga but after meeting Jena... and taking classes taught by Jena... Jillian... Kolleen... I just called the studio as a first time student. The woman apparently the owner, answered "Hello".... like I was calling her home. That was offputting... I had to ask if it was Dharma Yoga!!! Extremely extremely unprofessional. Additonally, I am a person who is looking for classes and this woman was unbelieveably rude. No information unless I pulled it out of her. Her tone was not welcoming. I have one question for you Wendy... do you or do you not WANT students? My decision was made after talking with you. I must say, on my worst day, I would never anwer a phone for my business and speak to anyone with a monotone, unenthusiastic, unfriendly attitude. The women from San Francisco that reviewed your studio was apparently dead on about one thing.... you don't care about your students. Lady, You are in the wrong business. I lived in Paso Robles and practiced at Dharma Yoga for one year. Kudos to Wendy for creating a space in which central coast yogis can practice so close to home. Spent $1350 to stay a month in a Serenity Yoga Retreat. Was not allowed to view the Garden Suite, but trusted in the Yogi Community. The place was filthy, condom wrapper under the bed with other odd looking things, dirty rag. Refrigerator not cleaned, floors were still dirty. Could not feel comfortable spending even a night let alone a month. Checked out, long story short, having to sue this spiritual retreat for my money back. Sad news. Buyer beware. read more
