In sound that I got late. For me being late is my mistake and I should not have been entertained but the problem is that the big lady in the front desk was behaving like a robot. She was as rude as can be. I don't think she deserves to be in health care service. The new doctors don't listen, and video appointments have been low-quality and unhelpful. The level of care, attentiveness, and professionalism that once defined this practice is simply gone. In one room someone was in the phone very loudly discussing how their office was under review for serious HIPPA violations. I could hear every detail about how patients medical information was left out in plain site for other patrons to see. Then, to add insult to injury, I heard a different manager discuss my situation with the front desk person. Telling him that "it's not Stanfords problem, it's my problem and I need to call insurance." After hearing this despicable response I asked to speak with her and directly confronted her about her disrespectful and unprofessional remarks. I then asked her, how are patients supposed to know their labs will be sent to quest or labcorp if they go to Stanford for lab draws, she states, "we tell you that when you refer you to the location." I told her "yes, well NO ONE TOLD ME THAT." That's what I had been trying to explain to them for over an hour. Her response ? "Oh I'm sorry, well what's your insurance?" I asked her if I could fax over insurance information and when she received it, she promptly called me back to acknowledge that she did. I let the receptionist know I confirmed my appointment and that I received an OK. After showing the receptionist the text thread, She stated to the lady sitting at the desk that I did indeed confirm my appointment to which the angry lady replied "I never received it". The receptionist stated she would look into seeing if I could be seen still and I asked to use the restroom while she checked to see if the Doctor would see me. When I returned to the front desk-the receptionist was explaining to me how important it was for me to confirm my appointments as soon as I receive the text. I simply replied how I had been in meetings all day ( mind you this was the day before Thanksgiving, and I was already stressed because it was my 1st year to host Thanksgiving), and the receptionist replied with "we don't know that your in meetings". As soon as I was going to apologize to the receptionist, the angry lady sitting at the desk tries to start going off on me and I put my hand up to stop her. I then looked at the receptionist and stated " I'm good" and I left the office. Yesterday I received a letter from this office telling me that Dr. Temkin can no longer see me due to my behavior between his office. Not once did I raise my voice nor did I say anything rude. BTW-because of this lady I wouldn't have set foot back there anyway. So they wasted a stamp . I still have the text with all of the confirmations showing I confirmed my appointment and asking her not to cancel my appointment and that I did in fact confirm my appointment. Very sad!
