This is a long pending review that I have been meaning to write for over 6 months now…read more I have always struggled with weight fluctuations. With that came a whole lot of other issues like PCOS, hormonal imbalances, low energy, high triglycerides etc etc. That's when I discovered LeanMD and started the program with Dr Temkin's team (specifically Kayoko). At first it may seem like a standard calorie deficit diet program. When you combine that, with regular exercise, low carb diet, their supplements and weekly accountability check ins, it makes all the difference. I went from 160lbs down to 136lb in my first 12 months. Then took a break due to travel and other engagements and I was able to sustain the weight loss with slight increase of 3lbs(I have been eating regular diet/not on low carb). I was able to fight my PCOS and get my regular cycles back. My hair/skin also improved dramatically (thanks H2O). The biggest value add for me personally working with Kai! She is awesome and keeps it real! This is a lifestyle changing and definitely sustainable program. I highly recommend!

I let the receptionist know I confirmed my appointment and that I received an OK. After showing the receptionist the text thread, She stated to the lady sitting at the desk that I did indeed confirm my appointment to which the angry lady replied "I never received it". The receptionist stated she would look into seeing if I could be seen still and I asked to use the restroom while she checked to see if the Doctor would see me. When I returned to the front desk-the receptionist was explaining to me how important it was for me to confirm my appointments as soon as I receive the text. I simply replied how I had been in meetings all day ( mind you this was the day before Thanksgiving, and I was already stressed because it was my 1st year to host Thanksgiving), and the receptionist replied with "we don't know that your in meetings". As soon as I was going to apologize to the receptionist, the angry lady sitting at the desk tries to start going off on me and I put my hand up to stop her. I then looked at the receptionist and stated " I'm good" and I left the office. Yesterday I received a letter from this office telling me that Dr. Temkin can no longer see me due to my behavior between his office. Not once did I raise my voice nor did I say anything rude. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR unless you want to be spoken to poorly by the staff. Mind you the receptionist was very kind and professional. However-the lady that does the scheduling-GET RID OF HER. BTW-because of this lady I wouldn't have set foot back there anyway. So they wasted a stamp . I still have the text with all of the confirmations showing I confirmed my appointment and asking her not to cancel my appointment and that I did in fact confirm my appointment. Very sad!

I had a very disappointing experience during my appointment on April 7th, 2025, with Dr. Andrew…read moreCheung, DO, at 200 Porter Dr, Suite #300, San Ramon, CA. From the moment I arrived, the medical assistant, who is blonde and works under Dr. Cheung, displayed aggressive, uninterested, and dismissive behavior that made me feel uncomfortable and frightened. The medical assistant never introduced herself or informed me that she would be administering a COVID test. Things only worsened during the COVID-19 testing. She simply told me to pull my mask down and said, "This isn't going to be fun." She never once mentioned that she would be doing a COVID test or a throat swab, and she didn't explain what tests would be run or why they were necessary. Her overly aggressive approach caused pain and injury when she inserted the nasal swab too deeply, causing bleeding. The throat swab was similarly forceful and painful. When taking my blood pressure, she failed to perform the procedure properly, inflating the cuff and then quickly removing it without obtaining an accurate reading. She never placed the stethoscope like one does when taking manual blood pressure. She also used the wrong size cuff, and instead of properly taking my blood pressure, getting the correct cuff size and recording the result, she fabricated the reading. The assistant was rude, rushed, and unprofessional, slamming doors behind her and showing no interest in my well-being. When the doctor arrived, he was kind and apologized, but the blood pressure reading issue was never corrected on the discharge form. Later, the doctor said the manager would come into speak with me, but after he left, the blonde medical assistant returned and confronted me in a very intimidating manner, asking, "Do we have a problem?" in a tone that felt confrontational. I was shaken by her approach, and instead of offering a genuine apology, she attempted to justify her rushed behavior, claiming she had to attend to another patient. Her response was dismissive and unprofessional. Her appearance back in the room frightened me, as the doctor had told me the manager would be in, not the medical assistant to confront me about my complaint about her. The practice manager, Vicky, dismissed my complaints, suggesting that I was simply having a "bad day," and minimized my experience, failing to acknowledge the serious issues I raised. The practice manager then seemed to defend the medical assistant as if they were friends, mentioning that the assistant had worked there for 15 years with no complaints, and that she herself was a medical assistant for 40 years. She even explained that she was just in a hurry. To which i replied, "they should not schedule me an appointment if they cant take the time to explain the procedure, or properly take my blood pressure, or even introduce themselves" this is no excuse, and there is no reason to rush. It only takes a few seconds to introduce yourself, and explain a procedure. I guess she was trying to justify there was nothing wrong with how i was treated by saying this? Didn't make sense how that was relevant in the moment, and raises more concerns about her lack of concern over her employees behavior towards a patient, given all of the experience she claims to have. This statement that the blonde medical assistant had no complaints in 15 years is false, as there are multiple reviews online with similar complaints about the same medical assistant, who works under Dr. Cheung, highlighting ongoing issues with her behavior and procedures. What's even more concerning is that this particular medical assistant has received negative reviews going back six years, with several patients complaining about similar mistreatment and her aggressive behaviors. It seems that the practice is not taking these complaints seriously, and the assistant's behavior continues to harm patients. Despite the doctor's kindness, the lack of professionalism from the assistant and the practice manager was disturbing. I was left feeling unheard and disrespected, especially disappointing in an institution like John Muir Health, which has a strong reputation. I sincerely hope the practice takes action to address these issues to prevent future patients from experiencing similar mistreatment. I also believe a reimbursement for this visit is warranted. Crazy to pay for care and then be treated this way. I hope no one else has to experience the mistreatment I received during my visit. People who display such unprofessional and aggressive behavior should not be working in the medical field. I sincerely hope John Muir Health takes this complaint seriously and takes action to ensure better care and professionalism in the future, especially for patients who are unable to advocate for themselves or who feel threatened and scared, as I did, by behavior like this.

After the procedure I asked if it was ok for him to use his microwave oven at home. I had heard that microwave ovens can interfere with pacemakers. The nurse said that she wasn't sure. She suggested to be on the safe side he can use his microwave, but he should run out of the kitchen after pressing the start button. I was appalled. First off my great uncle was a war hero and lost the use of his legs in Korea in an attempt to rid the world of communism. How is a man who is confined to a wheelchair supposed to cook his hot pocket under these circumstances? Just imagine my poor great uncle Sterling having to wheel himself across the kitchen floor to avoid certain death! Is this how we treat veterans in this country? The only helpful person there was Alicia Cruz. I think she was a nurse. She intervened and suggested cooking the hot pocket in the over or an air fryer as these cooking methods will not interfere with the pacemaker. She also noted that cooking a hot pocket in a conventional oven or an air fryer will make a crispier crust. You are a true saint Alicia! God bless you, and God bless America!!

So to be 100% honest I haven't seen this doctor in several years now, but the last time I had an…read moreappointment with her is something I've thought about multiple times in the last few years so I feel like writing a review may be helpful. For starters, it always took forever to be seen by Dr Raj. For example if I had an appointment at 2 PM, I would get there at 1:50 to check in, and then be in a room waiting for 30+ minutes until 2:30 or even later, while I could hear Dr Raj laughing and chatting in the next room. I understand having rapport with your clients, but when she would come into my room she seemed cold, un-empathetic, and rushed, when the timing being so delayed was not my fault. The last time I saw Dr Raj she diagnosed me with depression. I was 18 (26 now for context), and honestly I was really scared. I had never been diagnosed with anything before, and I told her I was really struggling and needed help. I explained that I wanted blood work done to check for various vitamin levels and serotonin, before I jumped into taking something that could negatively impact me long term (like an SSRI if my serotonin levels were fine). Not only did she refuse bloodwork, but she actually told me (and this is a direct quote) that I "was not strong enough to survive depression without taking antidepressants," and that I would eventually end up commuting s**cide." Like I said- she said this to me 8 years ago and it has negatively stuck with me since. I have a psychology/neuroscience degree now, and even though I'm not a doctor, I would never in a million years speak to ANYONE in that way. That is a deeply inappropriate, reckless, and harmful thing to say to a child that is asking you for help and clearly scared. She also told me that "when" (not if) I changed my mind, she'll write me any prescription I want, no questions asked, which is an extremely irresponsible way to be practicing medicine. It took a few years of some other not-so-great doctors, but I eventually got bloodwork done that showed VERY low vitamin levels, and taking care of my vitamin deficiencies helped with my depression tremendously. There's also 100s of different ways she could have responded to me that would've been kind, helpful, and considerate, rather than what she chose to say. I wish potential physiological contributors had been investigated before medication was pushed as the only solution. You would think that a baseline level of empathy would be present in a healthCARE provider, but not with Dr Raj. I truly hope she is retired and doesn't speak to clients in the ways she spoke to me. Due to her lack of basic consideration and care, as well as time management, I would not recommend going to her, especially if you're struggling with your mental health.

My husband had been admitted to the hospital twice in the past for medical emergencies -- he received only the best care from Dr. O and the San Ramon Medical Center and recovered both times. During one of the medical emergencies, at night and on a weekend, I called Dr. O's office, and he personally took the call himself -- most Dr's would have an answering service taking the calls! Not only did he advise me on all the proper steps to take for the next 24 hours, but I felt reassured as always that my husband was in excellent hands and in the hands of a caring doctor. We had to sadly switch health plans a year ago, as employers have made it so difficult to have private care. I cannot wait for changes to our employers health plans so we can return to Dr. O as our primary care provider. As for greeting us , on a normal basis he often would greet us with "Oh, you made it!" meaning "You were able to keep the appointment, I'm glad to see you!" We feel blessed to have been under the care of such a top notch doctor and would highly recommend him to anyone.
