A fantastic new business specialising in Indian and Indo-Chinese street food alongside the standard curry dishes you would expect to find in any Indian restaurant in the UK.
We visited on a weekday evening and took advantage of an offer which allowed for 5 street food dishes. Each of the dishes on offer sounded fantastic so we decided to choose two and ask our waiter to select three other dishes. Alongside this we also ordered a standard curry dish and some rice (a feast of a meal for two!).
The food arrived quickly and was presented perfectly, the waiter explained what each of the dishes were. Every single dish was amazing; complex and deliciously flavoursome. Of particular note was the Gobi Manchurian which is crispy cauliflower coated in a soya garlic sauce, one of our surprise dishes and not something we'd have probably ordered but wow! a phenomenal taste and something we'll be sure to order next time we visit.
The decor is provided by vibrant Indian street art and allows the atmosphere to be casual yet still feeling like you're out somewhere special to eat.
In conclusion, if you're looking for Indian food in central Bristol, I can wholeheartedly recommend Dhamaka. The mix of street food whilst still doing excellent traditional curry dishes means there is something for everyone, even the ones who don't like sharing! read more
