I had a scheduled appointment for 12:30 pm on Tuesday, July 16,2013. After about 2.5 hours of waiting in a very uncomfortable waiting room, I was called back for eye dilation. The technician went through a litany of the questions I had already completed on the forms I had given them 2.5 hours early. Back to the waiting I went. Looking around the room I noted that there were about 5 people in front of me. I gave up after three hours of waiting.
The office staff did not express any concern or provide any explanation except to say there was only two of them there that day.
The impression I got was that the long waits are the norm and not unusually at all. If there are an extenuating circumstances, I can accept long waits, but this just seemed to be routine business for this office. It demonstrated that this office holds their patients in low regard, which is unacceptable to me.
I talked with the referring physician's staff and they said this is not the first time they have heard this compliant. I have new referral to a different physician. read more
