Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

We had to deal with a lot of salesmen-y type of people that didn't feel honest. Quoting huge numbers and telling us our AC was definitely going to die any moment. We knew it was going bad, but the experience we had with the greasy salesmen techs made us decide to wait for it to fail before trying again to find someone good. It finally failed May 2026. I did my research again and found this company. The reviews were great but I was still really nervous because of our last experience. Called them out, fully expecting to go through the process of calling multiple people before finding someone. However, Alfredo was immediately different from the others. He is such a kind and personable person. What a great first impression. If you are able to ask by name, I suggest ask for Alfredo. He arrived exactly on time, too. He didn't feel like a salesperson at all. He felt honest and genuine. He gave us all of our options. From repair to full and complete replacement and everything in between. He discussed with us the pros and cons of each option. It never felt like he was pushing us one way or the other. It felt like he just wanted us to have a working AC that worked for us, period. He also spoke equally to both my husband and I. Many technicians tend to only speak to my husband which is annoying since I take care of most of the home management. Previously we were told we had to do this super expensive option to keep our upstairs cool but Alfredo told us we likely didn't need it, and if we did, we could have it added later. I knew right away we didn't need to have anyone else come out. We chose them and they were able to install our new system same day. We left the house, and they were very respectful of our house while they were here alone. They cleaned up after themselves and locked the doors behind them. He said they would likely be done around 2am and they finished at exactly 1:59am! We had a Lego display on the wall that I'm guessing got bumped (I forgot to remove it before they arrived so that was my bad). Some pieces fell off and broke apart and they put them all on the table. I've knocked that thing off myself and finding those scattered pieces is annoying. No missing pieces at all. I was impressed by this small thing. Just another example of the care and thoughtfulness of the crew. The AC is incredible. I'm very happy so far with our choice in system and in who we picked to install it. Morgan struck us as an honest technical guy who wasn't interested in playing sales games, and he told a great story about the company's values and why he chose to work for them, which left a positive impression on us. His solution was more expensive than our other finalist, but not the most expensive we had seen, and there were some specific things about the thermostat we preferred over the other option. Since October is a slower time for HVAC companies, they were able to schedule our installation for the next day. The installation crew was great. Casey, Daniel, & Kevin were constantly letting us know what was going on and regularly checked in to make sure we were happy with the installation. Alphonso worked hard in the background, lugging all the parts and equipment up and down the stairs. The new system was much longer than expected (roughly 25 feet end to end), and they were very accommodating about moving it all further into the attic and routing the ducts overhead so that we could recover floor space for storage. We really appreciated their willingness to work with us on the details rather than just making things easier for themselves. They set down fabric on the carpet, vacuumed at the end of the job, and generally tried to leave the place nicer than they found it. The owner, George, stopped by to check on his crew and spent more than an hour going over details with them. Seeing that level of hands-on involvement and attention to detail was very reassuring. Overall, we were impressed by the team's professionalism, communication, flexibility, and care for our home. No one wants to dump a bunch of money on HVAC, but the experience gave us confidence that we chose the right company.

Tyler's solution was less expensive than our other finalist, and very competitive with the other bids. Every question was answered quickly and thoroughly. In the end, however, there were some specific things about the thermostat that the other option handled better for our needs, though most people would probably not notice. I assumed the membership would end after the two free years. My card on file had expired, yet in May and June 2026 the company suddenly began charging me again. This suggests someone manually updated my card information without my permission. I never authorized a renewal, never received a renewal notice, and never received invoices for any charges. They refunded the charges I caught, but then claimed I owed $95.80 for four months of fees that were never billed and never agreed to. I asked for written confirmation of a zero balance and never received a direct response. They only responded to the BBB and stated the account was at zero. I appreciated that and after doing some price comparison with 2 other companies, one of which tried to upsell me on a yearly plan, I decided to go with Comfort Land. I confirmed the appointment time on Sunday and on Monday they came early afternoon. I was not here when they originally came and my husband interacted with them, he had a favorable opinion. I had done my own research that morning and realized that the problem was likely inside the house since the outside unit was spinning normally and the refrigerant line was cold, but nothing was blowing in my house so I thought it was likely a motor blower issue. they confirmed that they found that the motor blower was not working. they also said the auxillary drain pan was very rusted (like around 2-3 feet of rust on the pan) I like that they documented everything very well and showed and emailed us pictures of what they found in our attic. I felt very comfortable and confident that they were honest and did a good evaluation. They called and had a motor blower and new drain pan delivered from their storage facility and I think the two of them waited outside the house for like 90 minutes for it. I think they came around 1pm, and left around 5 pm after installing everything and left after they made sure the AC was working, including measuring the temperature that came from the AC. In regards to the pricing: It was 2600 to replace the motor and change the drain pan. I did a search on HVAC subreddit and it seemed like that price was reasonable. My husband and I are very grateful for their prompt service, their handwritten evaluation that not only evaluated the immediate problem, as well as overall health of the AC system we had and the degree of wear and tear on some of the other parts. A#1 performed scheduled preventative maintenance on their system on July 8. On September 18, they discovered extensive water damage after the HVAC drain pan overflowed. They subsequently learned that the condensate drain line was severely clogged and that the float safety switch had failed to shut the system down. Two days later, another licensed HVAC company inspected the system, cleared the severely clogged drain line, and advised my brother-in-law that the line had not been properly cleared. The resulting damage to their home is estimated to exceed $50,000. What prompted me to share their experience is how disappointing the situation has been for their family after years as A#1 customers. My brother-in-law has repeatedly attempted to resolve the matter directly with A#1 and has asked the company to involve its liability insurance carrier. A#1 has declined to accept responsibility. I was not present for the maintenance visit or subsequent HVAC inspection, so I want to be transparent that this is my family's experience rather than my own firsthand service experience. However, I witnessed the damage that the poor service and outright negligence caused, and want to warn the Yelp community to go with literally any other provider of HVAC services.
