While signing the back of checks, my sunglasses accidentally fell into the trash opening in the table. I asked customer service for help. After waiting a long time, I looked into the manager's office. What an incredibly rude and nasty look she gave me, wow! Eventually I got my sunglasses. There was a second pair of sunglasses that had fallen in there also. I told her she should get them and put them in the lost and found. She gave me another dirty scowl and said, no I'll leave them there. Just an unfriendly, nasty, rude woman who scowls at clients as if they are an interruption of her day. She will gladly keep your loan application processing for more than a month as she takes her sweet time to respond to your inquiries and requests for information, not to mention never picking up your calls. I switched to DFCU from Chase about a year ago and I couldn't be happier. We've gotten a car loan and our home loan at this branch. Jacqueline is great and my real estate agent raved about Roxanne. She said it was one of the easiest closings she's done - and she's been in the business for years! STAY AWAY FROM BANKING AT DFCU! They have terrible policies and treat you like a criminal! Their chip card got hacked. I signed their affidavit as demanded. It took a week for them to reverse the charges to my account. They told me that they had up to ten business days, or up to two weeks of my $1000 in bill money being tied up and inaccessible through no fault of my own. Then, if I had not gone in the office and signed the affidavit, it could have been missed in the mail, at which point, they take your money again. After I made repeated complaints about the money not being available, they moved me to the "top of the stack," the manual way of returning the money that had been given away in five minutes, digitally. I asked why they didn't reverse automatically, and they told me that they were small and did not have the power of the big visa cards and banks. That pretty much explains their problem. Except, they have now opened branches in Uganda. So, now, international branches can access our personal information. If they are a small business that cannot compete against big banks with security or immediate return of fraudulent charges, what are they dong going global? We are given a false sense of security with these "chip" cards. My regular card had not been skimmed, ever. Then they gave me a chip card, which I deliberately sign for transactions to avoid giving access to my pin number, and it was skimmed in short order. DFCU called to assure me that it was simply a skimmed card. They had no idea that someone had also tried to breach my account through the DFCU call center. I had to tell them that they were wrong, someone had also tried to hack my account. They were supposed to be investigating a breach and I should have never had to be the one to tell them that my account also had an attempted breach. This time, the two factor authentication worked, and my online account was not breached. I felt slightly better that they could not get in, then, I received a hang up phone call from the state where the skimmed charges originated. Now, I figure that I am under attack for identity theft and the thieves have more information then a skimmed card. I asked that DFCU add additional trick questions to their call center to make it harder for people to access my account. They told me that they would stand behind their call center questions. They are not changing their out dated security policies. These questions were established years ago before social engineering became common. I called them and told them this, they passed on the information. Conclusion, they are more concerned with protecting their employees than in beefing up security to protect a customer that is under attack. All they need to add is a few more trick questions, which I was told that they would not add. My money is not safe at DFCU.. They only have true 100% DFCU employee support during business banking hours. The rest of the time, their security is a separate department with automated messages that tell you to contact them during banking hours, so if your card is locked for any reason outside of those hours, which has happened to me around Christmas, tough luck, wait until Monday to get help accessing your money. I will be moving my accounts. Their security and policies are archaic. They are slow in reversing fraudulent charges, and they have separated security sections that only talk to each other after the fact, when it is too late. Most of the employees are nice, however, some argued directly with me about weak security policies. i have been a member since 2008. i have since married and moved out of state. My account was suppose to be close and my remaining balance returned to me. INSTEAD they kept my account open and charged fees until it came to a zero balance. Now that i have called there is no record of NAY of my conversations taking place. I will NOT get my money back and my account STILL is not closed!!! DO NOT BANK WITH THEM!!!!!!! Find ANYWHERE else to bank! You will be much happier! read more

I'm 39 and have been with DFCU since I was 16. I am done with them! Twice they have cleared checks deposited via their Mobil app just to then return the check without notifying me and then charging me fees for returned check. Both times they apologized saying it was a "glitch" on their part but did nothing to remedy the situation. I was left on hold multiple times because they didn't like the fact that I was pissed off. Fucking idiots all of them. If they don't like pissed off customers then maybe they should do their jobs correctly and quit fucking with people's money!! Never again. Taking my money elsewhere. I would give negative stars if I could. This is by far the WORST credit union I have ever had to deal with. Not only do credit unions pride themselves on being "for the people" and "without fees" but DFCU does not. Every time I have to cash a check with is usually late in the evening since my post office doesn't deliver mail until after 4:30 PM most dates, I am forced to deal with a two day hold on every check even if they are with an employer. My local branch informed me that I could sit down with the branch manager and discuss the payroll check and at their discretion it would be approved or not to be readily available. I work very hard for the money I make and this is an extreme disservice to me and any other customer dealing with the same thing. When I am able to show my pay stub that should be proof enough that I am employed as it shows all information needed. I should not have to take the time out of my day to sit down with a branch manager while trying to juggle work and being a single mother. I do not have the time to take when the branch closest to me frankly has non work friendly hours. To make matters worse I am able to go to a Co-op service credit union and deposit fund but not without being charged a penalty. Is it supposed to pay to be a member? If my mail comes late, which is does 90% of the time. then I am forced to drive to a further location just to deposit funds that won't even be available to me for 2 business days. Not only is this a horrible inconvenient it is costly me a large amount of money. I see NO benefit with staying with this awful credit union because for me there isn't any. Not even one. Not only are the hours and the fees awful but the customer service is by far below par. There is not one teller or representative that I have encounted that has been remotely helpful because of your new policies. I have cashed many checks from the same employer and not had to deal with two day hold previously and think it is absolutely ridiculous to change things now and require me to sit down to talk to your branch manager to cash the same checks I have been cashing since early last year (2016). I am writing this not with a question but to let you know I am extremely dissatisfied with your service and I will be changing banks as soon as possible. The lack of customer care and enormous fees that are cast are absolutely insane for someone who considers themselves to be for the people.
