This was a big mistake. The owner explained he does not get his money until after guests check out and offered a discount, so we took him up on it as he sounded like a great guy over the phone. We lost all of the money. We left after a few nights, so don't pay up front. The primary problem was that there is no shower, although the shower icon was shown on the site. My spouse is unable to get in and out of a tub due to a hip problem, so bathing in the tub was out of the question. Even if there was a hose attached, it would not have worked as there is no shower curtain. The tub is old and not very inviting even if you liked baths. Take a good look at the photo of the bed. It is surrounded by three walls. If the person beside the wall wishes to exit before the other person, this necessitates asking the person the get up or climb over their legs. There is nowhere to put suitcases. We stored one suitcase in the car, brought in a table from outside, used the couch (which made the living room useless) and the other suitcase was on a chair. There are a few drawers along with limited closet space. The place is absolutely loaded with personal affects and some types of antiquities/memorabilia. After a few days I began to feel creeped out by all of the photos and stuff everywhere. The lighting in general is poor. One of the sites listing this property states it is suitable for elderly. There is no way an elderly person could manage the tub, the stairs, and the double levels of the family room. Also, one of the sites list a balcony with a city view. There is a front porch where you can possibly see a few buildings in the Pearl if you go out to the sidewalk. It is one story home, from the front porch you can see the home across street undergoing renovation. From the back you can see the highway. The televisions are not set up for local stations. On a positive note, the owner was responsive to questions or needs. He found a YMCA/Rec Center, five minutes away where my husband would have pay to shower (LOL). The washer and dryer work. The kitchen is well equipped and has been nicely redone. Unfortunately, we lost over $2,300.00 to someone who knew that his apartment did not have a shower and only a bathtub.
