I really enjoy the studio a lot. Most of my classes are with Conny and she is tremendous. She has a very calming voice and she is a very interesting person on top of that. Yoga classes are perfect for me-open level Vinyasa. I've also had the pleasure of having a couple classes with Jen who is the owner. I have always wanted to start Yoga as a complement to my Orange Theory workouts and I'm totally addicted! After three weeks of going 2-3 times per week I already feel my flexibility and balance improving- the focus on relaxation and breath at the same time provides a wonderful experience for my mind and body! I usually don't write reviews after only one visit to anyplace, and will certainly continue to update this one. Dropped in at Dew Yoga on a Saturday morning. It's a little tricky to find, the entrance being in the back of a building with some other more obvious retail, on a big, busy road. But it is there, up on the 3rd floor. The young woman sitting at the desk at first sort of pointed me towards the sign in sheet and went about her business. When I told her I was new to the studio, she apologized profusely and gave me a proper tour and orientation. Very sweet. Easy mistake to make; I look like someone who belongs in a yoga studio, especially early Saturday morning after a slightly rough night. By the way, shoes stay outside the main door. At first the place looks tiny. Then you wander back, and there are at least three studios. Funky wood floors. Funky space in general. Really, really comfortable. The class I took was regular old vinyasa and was in the largest, rearmost studio. It got very full, which is normal for a Sat morn class, and which of course is fine. People are respectful and stay in their own space, so all good. Loved the class. Connie (I think) taught it. Very strenuous, a minimum of extraneous philosophizing, good inline instruction (meaning she explained the nuances of poses well and gave good tips for achieving proper alignment, breathing, breathing, relaxing in, etc. One of the best parts: class cards are fully transferable and have no expiration date. Big ups for that! I truly hate class cards that expire. I mean, seriously, how un-customer-centric is that? I've heard the lame-ass explanations: "it's in your best interest to practice frequently." Ick -- not your job to tell me how frequently I must practice or to enforce it economically. Dew has it right: you buy 'em, they're yours. End of rant. Overall a very positive first impression. I hope to be back many Saturdays and maybe a few other days mixed in. There is a lot of Kripalu and Kundalini yoga on the schedule, which I guess is the place's forté. A magical studio among the hustle and bustle of Stamford. A diverse and unique group of instructors as well as students. I always find the moment I walk into the studio, it has the ability to calm even the most stressed client. A great mix of class offerings. This is yoga. Real yoga. The studio envelopes you as soon as you walk in. Each teacher is unique in their own way but all really care and believe in yoga. From beginner to experienced students...there is a class you will love. For me it was like finding Kripalu in Ct. Lots of encouragement, no judgement and class cards never expire! This is a wonderful studio for practicing yoga. There are two studios. One is on High Ridge (actually the entrance is in the rear, so you have to enter from Paul Pl) and the other is Hope Street (where I usually go with my wife) in downtown Springdale. Both have ample parking and both have immaculate, multiple spaces that are appropriately decorated. No need to bring mats since they are provided if you ask. My taste tends toward traditional Hatha Yoga which includes breathing (Pranayama), postures (asanas) and resting. I find Jeff and Jen offer just what I'm looking for in their Gentle Flow and Yin Yoga classes. If you are looking for some good fun, Vicki offers wonderful restorative classes. There are many other classes of different flavors for those who are looking for something different such as Vinyasa Yoga. I've been practicing Yoga and Tai Chi for 35 years and am so grateful that Dew Yoga is available in my community. Jen, the owner, is a lovely and very supportive instructor/owner who will greet you and warmly welcome you to your first class. Whether you are just getting started, re-starting, or a long time practitioner, there is sure to be a class/instructor that you will enjoy. Namaste! read more

I'm so happy to have found Dew Yoga! It's a peaceful oasis where everyone is warm & welcoming. The schedule is full of classes for all levels, which is great for a working single mom like me. And there's no judgments or feeling of competition from the teachers or fellow yogis, just genuine acceptance and encouragement. I've only been at Dew for about a month & I'm addicted. Dew Yoga was great up on High Ridge next to a Thai restaurant with special events and instructors that were terrific but they grew out of the small space very quickly and now they are closer in the building before Bull's Head Diner.
