But if you have any characteristics that don't look like you stepped out of the 1940s or earlier they may try and destroy you. They have an inordinate preoccupation with rules. According to the 'church' that runs the place you are not allowed to eat meat, you are not allowed to drink any alcohol, you are not allowed to eat pickles, masterbation causes tuberculosis, mental retardation, blindness, and death. The list goes on. Their beliefs and actions are a mix of nineteenth century superstition and Victorian ethics. Now when I first got involved with this group though I wasn't an Adventist, I was naively sympathetic with their views. However, I came to realize that Seventh Day Adventism is a cult of Christianity These people have thrown me under the bus many times, and not in small ways but in huge life shattering ways. I am far worse off now than I was before I got involved with these people. My advice to you is to look for another hospital / teaching hospital / medical program / allied health clinics . Irvine might be a good choice.

I am a recent graduate of the Dental Hygiene program. I had a great experience with my cohort and…read moreinstructors. This program has provided me with lifelong memories and detailed hands on experience to take with me as I join the work force. Be prepared, this program is fast paced and will push you to be the best clinician you can be. This fast paced nature of the program really helped prepare me for real world scenarios. The prerequisite classes and dental hygiene classes were lead by wonderful instructors, who have all put their heart and soul into teaching us and go above and beyond for us. The program requires all of your time, attention, and energy to turn your education into a fulfilling lifelong career of helping people get their smiles back. It was 100% worth the dedication!!!

I rarely take the time to write public comments, but after reading this review, I feel it is important to offer a balanced and honest perspective based on real experience. I am currently a student in the Dental Hygiene program at Concorde, and my experience has been nothing like what was described here. In fact, it has been one of the most challenging, structured, and professionally rewarding educational experiences I have ever had. Dental hygiene is not an easy path. It is academically demanding, clinically intensive, and requires a high level of discipline, accountability, and resilience. That is the nature of healthcare education -- not a flaw of the institution. Mrs. Santucho, our Program Director, is an exceptional leader. Her dedication to students is visible on a daily basis. She advocates for us, supports us, guides us, and invests an extraordinary amount of time ensuring students are prepared not only to pass exams, but to become competent, ethical clinicians. Her door is always open, and her commitment to student success is something every serious student quickly recognizes. WE ALL LOVE MRS. SANTUCHO!!! I would especially like to address the comments regarding Dr. Z, because they are deeply inconsistent with the reality experienced by many students. Dr. Z is one of the most knowledgeable, prepared, and intellectually grounded instructors in the program. Her command of the material is remarkable. She does not simply teach from slides or textbooks -- she explains concepts with depth, clinical relevance, and clarity that reflect true mastery of the subject. More importantly, Dr. Z embodies what education should represent: professionalism, fairness, patience, and humanity. She challenges students because she understands the responsibility attached to this profession. Precision, critical thinking, and competence are not optional in dental hygiene -- they are essential. Dr. Z holds students to high standards not out of harshness, but out of integrity and commitment to patient safety. There is a profound difference between an instructor being "unfair" and an instructor refusing to lower academic standards. Students sometimes confuse being challenged with being treated unfairly. However, growth in any healthcare profession requires discomfort, correction, and accountability. Dr. Z consistently provides clarification, guidance, and support to students who are willing to engage, learn, and apply themselves. Beyond her academic excellence, Dr. Z is also one of the most compassionate and respectful individuals I have encountered. She treats students with dignity, patience, and genuine care. She is approachable, supportive, and deeply invested in student understanding -- not superficial memorization. It is easy to criticize instructors who refuse to compromise educational quality. It is far more difficult to acknowledge the value of educators who prepare students for real-world clinical responsibility. Regarding the faculty as a whole, Concorde's professors are licensed dental professionals with real clinical experience. This is not incidental -- it is fundamental to the quality of education provided. Who better to prepare students for patient care than practitioners who understand clinical decision-making, ethical responsibility, instrumentation, infection control, and patient management firsthand? Healthcare education must be guided by professionals for future professionals. Strict attendance policies, academic rigor, and structured expectations are not signs of dysfunction -- they are reflections of program integrity. Clinical professions demand reliability, competence, and responsibility. Educational standards must mirror professional standards. Every student's journey is personal, and academic environments are naturally demanding. However, frustration or personal dissatisfaction should not be misrepresented as institutional failure. Many of us are thriving in this program, feel supported by faculty, respect the academic structure, and recognize the immense effort our instructors invest in student success. Education is a partnership. Instructors provide knowledge, structure, and guidance. Students must provide effort, accountability, and commitment. My experience at Concorde has been defined by professionalism, support, and high-quality instruction. I am genuinely grateful for the respect, care, and dedication shown by the professors throughout this program. In fact, if given the choice, I would confidently choose this program again. Despite the rigor and challenges inherent to dental hygiene education, the level of support, commitment, and genuine concern for student success provided by the faculty makes this experience truly valuable.

The ONLY TWO ISSUES I have is that when my child went to…read morethis, she was bullied, and according to their policy, like every school, they don't tolerate it.. Well, let's just say that they didn't handle s@#t, I called the school and talked to the assistant principal, she told she would handle it but yet again she never got off her butt and look for her self. They would throw food at my child and leave terrible letters by my child backpack saying kill yourself.. The second issue is the JV Sofeball COACH MICHELLE MCDONNELL. My issue with her is that she didn't like me,so since she didn't like me, she didn't like my kid. MCDONNELL would talk to everyone girl on the team, and when she would pass by my kid, she would ignore her. When she made the roster, she told my kid that there were only two spots open and one of them is for you, so when the time came to put her on the team, she didn't. Told her oh one of the girls from the soccer team made it instead, but you can be the team manager, and if anyone on the team got hurt, you can sub.. Well, that shit didn't work cause my child ONLY GOT TO PLAY THREE GAMES FOR THE WHOLE SEASON... I would always go to her practice and games.. One of her practices was that she had to leave early because we had a family emergency, MCDONNELL was not too happy about that she looked at my child up and down. I told my kid, "Let's go and MCDONNELL looked at me and rolled her eyes .. I said it nice and clear so MCDONNELL could hear me, I told my kid come let's go we can't stay we have a family emergency what is she going to do not play you, she does that already.. Well, the end of the season came. I was happy because we didn't have to deal with this lady anymore. To top it off, she didn't let us know when the banquet was, and when they team photos, she didn't even name my kid in the year AT ALL.. So yes, because of that dumb ass my child had a bad experience in softball.. So if your kid plays for her, you better be nice to that so-called softball player because she is not one..
