I am the caregiver for my brother who is a non-verbal individual. When the aid calls out or needs a replacement my brother is left alone for several house that he is SUPPOSED to be cared for by an aid ACCORDING TO THE STATE OF NY and CASA. This company continues to put my brother's life in danger and I need to have the owner/director/CEO reschedule out to me personally. This is unjust behavior towards the disabled and the families. I am at work. I do not receive any phone calls alerting me our regular aid will be out. No voicemails left. Totally irresponsible management and staff. Total disregard for human lives and disrespect to the advocates. The ONLY positive is Laura an in-take specialist who helped me from start to finish on my application process with CASA. But besides Laura, this agency's staff is garrrrrbage and need to be demoted and placed elsewhere. They DO NOT take their position or patients seriously. And my long time aid that I had apply to work so she could continue caring for my brother also gets treated disrespectfully by the same coordinators. They look to place blame and diminish people rather than actually do their work correctly and efficiently. And to add insult to injury, the coordinator claims when they call my number it goes straight to voicemail, yet leave NO VOICEMAIL. They seem to have blocked MY NUMBER and now the barons are not able to contact me. Another disregard for patient care. I've had my sister on the phone with them all morning today because I am at work. I am wasting my break time to write this review of this disgusting staff and their trash behavior. Poor patient and staff treatment. Garbage.

WARNING: Serious Safety Issues…read more I would strongly caution anyone considering Special Touch Home Health Care to look elsewhere. My experience with this agency involved negligence, untrained aides, missed coverage, and a complete lack of transparency, all of which put my uncle's safety at risk. On multiple occasions, the agency failed to send a scheduled home health aide, leaving a vulnerable patient without care. When aides were sent, some were clearly untrained and unable to safely perform basic tasks, including transfers. Most alarming, an aide sent by this agency allowed my uncle to fall twice within a two-hour period. Even worse, the agency did not notify me about the second fall or that EMS was called. I only discovered this by reviewing footage from my in-home security cameras. This kind of lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable in home health care. Despite repeated emails and complaints, the agency showed a cavalier and dismissive attitude, failed to take responsibility, and did not implement meaningful corrective action. These are not isolated mistakes--they point to systemic problems with training, staffing, and oversight. If you are caring for a loved one, I strongly encourage families who experience issues with this agency to also report concerns to: Medicaid / Managed Care Plans State Department of Health Waiver programs (such as NHTD) Accrediting and oversight agencies Public reviews matter, but formal complaints are what protect patients and force accountability. If safety, transparency, and competent care matter to you, stay away from this agency.

I'm in Maryland but he doesn't have any family nearby so I am the next best thing. I didn't know how to go about looking for someone. I called a couple of home care agencies but they were expensive and was not sure what we were getting for $25 to $27 an hour. When i looked online there were many different ways to go and I was a bit overwhelmed. So I went on Yelp which i periodically due for restaurants and such. I was surprised that LeanOnWe jumped at me. The reviews were strong and they were varied. At first I didn't realize that they were any different than the home care agencies. Then i realized that they weren't an agency but just a way for me to connect with someone that my uncle would end up hiring. Very clever. Since my uncle would be hiring the caregivers, it was meaningfully less expensive but would give us everything we were looking for. So I called up and told LeanOnWe what my uncle was dealing with, where he lives, and what he was looking for. They sent bios of 5 people who fit the bill, my uncle and i spoke to two of them on the phone and decided to hire one of them. It worked out great. What a creative way for us to manage this process. We would have been stuck otherwise. So far the woman we chose has been working for about three weeks and all is working well. It is nice knowing that if she can't make it we can always go back to LeanOnWe and find someone else. A happy customer

Unfortunately -I must give them a very negative review. I…read morehave asked them numerous times to assist me in replacing a live-in caregiver who has created a very toxic environment for us. The caregiver constantly manipulates the family against each other in order to get his way. Every time I try to replace him the agency interferes and ignores my requests even though I am the one hired them and I am the one who pays the caregiver who I dislike immensely. I should not have to be a situation where I am forced to keep a caregiver that I dislike. They don't return my phone calls and they ignore my requests to get a different caregiver. Instead of working with me to replace this caregiver who has created an extremely toxic environment, the agency will go behind my back and reach out to another family member who has very little to do with the caregiving, is easily manipulated and it results in arguments about replacing the caregiver. I don't want a caregiver who is only in it for the money and who does not have patients wellbeing in mind. I constantly have to step in and make sure the patient is being cared for. I should be allowed to replace a caregiver that I have no trust in. The caregiver should not be in charge and the agency should not be in charge. Thay have made a difficult situation even more difficult by pitting family members against each other. I dislike them immensely. Be careful

Unfortunately, I have found them to be unreliable, and not available 24/7 to address concerns. My elderly aunt--who is in a wheelchair and cannot function without assistance around the clock-- is a client of this agency. Today, they are closed. They did not inform the aide who is with my aunt today that they would be closed. She needs someone to replace her tomorrow, but no one is available to speak with her about this. They have no answering service. She is not given the cell phone number of any supervisor. We have been calling the office number all day, leaving messages on the supervisor's voicemail, but there is no outgoing message indicating when or if someone will be able to respond. This may not seem like such a big deal, but if you have ever been in a situation of caring for an elderly and/or disabled family member who needs around-the-clock assistance, I think you can see where a home care agency really needs to be available to address concerns around that clock, or at the very least can figure out how to change their friggin' voicemail message to reassure people who rely and depend on them that their concerns will be addressed promptly. I find this completely unacceptable, and have lost all confidence in the agency.
