The store is always fresh and clean, as is the parking lot. I appreciate that they have ample parking and you can enter/exit from 3 different streets. Other helpful features: * They have plastic bag recycling outside, and other machines inside that I haven't used (locker, CRV bottle recycling, maybe a coin counter?). * They are open throughout the year with the exception of just Christmas Day. And I've come here super early right as they open finishing stocking shelves. On a very consistent basis they take the frozen food out super early. And let it defrost til it's soggy before they stock the freezer. And it happens A LOT. Ice cream. Chicken nuggets. You name it all frozen items have the potential to have been let defrost to the point it degrades the quality of frozen food you're buying. I've come in the morning and entire sections of ice cream the container is squishy. Meatballs. Nuggets. Squishy to the touch. You bring ice cream home and you can tell it melted. Again, this happens very consistently here. The store manager either doesn't pay attention or doesn't care or thinks it's fine. But the food vendors that pay for space and pay for this Safeway to properly handle frozen food are getting ripped off. Customers are getting potentially ruined food.

During my last visit, I asked an employee if they had the bag, and he told me they didn't. However, I could clearly see the bag sitting on top of a box on the floor behind him. A few moments later, another employee, who may have been a manager, moved the bag behind another box to hide it. This made me feel like they intentionally didn't want to sell me the item. If the bag wasn't available for sale, they should have explained why instead of saying they didn't have it. After visiting the store so many times, I can't help but wonder if I've been given the same answer every time. I hope Trader Joe's looks into this situation and provides more honest and respectful customer service.

And if you grab a 4-pack of a double or triple IPA, you'll be paying at least $4 more than other places. I asked about this the last time I was here, and the guy said, "Higher alcohol beers are more expensive," which in general is true; but not THIS much more expensive. It seems to me they are using that as an excuse to double their already-high markup. I've actually cancelled more than one purchase here when I saw the actual charge pop-up on the register. (Note: They don't post prices for most beers). I was going to give Holly Market 3 stars, but based on the unusually-high Yelp rating...and abnormal number of 5-star reviews from newbies (We know what that means!) To celebrate a birthday i arrived at Lunardi's hoping the bakery had a Princess cake for us. We were greeted by the friendly staff and assured they had the cake in 2 colors, pinkish and greenish. We wanted to personalize it with a birthday greeting which the quickly did as we waited. On Google, a princess cake is a Swedish domed confection of layered sponge cake with raspberry jam, a custard layer covered in a smooth green marzipan dome. Precisely what we got. It was delicious. Not overly sweet, great texture and flavors. It's going to be one of my favorites from now on. Highly recommend you try one. It's a small cake maybe 6 inches square but packed with flavor.

My family likes the Raley's brand of frozen foods, frozen vegetables, bran flakes, and coconut water. This isn't the cheapest store; however, they do carry quality ingredients. I will be stopping by this Redwood Shores location whenever I'm close by. Pro-tip: This location has an extensive cheese section and the meat and seafood counters are consistently serving people.
