I hired Mark Ambrose to install two lights and relocate a ceiling fan in the ceiling of my…read morealumawood patio cover. He assured me he had worked with this product before and was confident he could do the job. When it rained, after his installation, water came pouring through the two holes where the light and ceiling fan work was done and the light shorted out and tripped the breaker. I sent Mark a text on august 8th, with a video showing the water coming though, and got no response. I called about a month later (we were on vacation) and he didn't answer but on September 18th he sent me the following text: "Good Morning Sir. I am currently in a psychiatric hospital and have been for a couple of months. I just got to see my phone. I will return your call when I am permitted to do so. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause". I then found the company who originally installed the patio cover and had a rep. come out to see if he can fix the problem caused by Mark. Mark had created two holes on top of the patio cover and ran a wire up one hole and down the other. He did not put the wire in conduit, leaving it exposed to the elements, and he did not even attempt to caulk the holes. I'm now having to bring in another electrician to correct Marks terrible work. In addition, Mark installed a 50 amp plug in my garage for my Tesla charging cord and now I am receiving a message indicating the wall plug temperature is high and I need to have the plug and the wiring inspected.

At first I posted the job on Yelp under "Electricians" and got quotes of several hundreds of dollars weeks in the future. Then I posted it under "Handyman" and got a number of replies. Mark was at my house in less than 24 hours (on a Saturday) and installed both lights for under $100. I didn't feel this was fair to him so I rounded up. I'm a realtor, so I saved Mark's info in my phone for the next time a client needs a BINSR rescue (the list of repairs buyers deliver to a seller in lieu of cancelling the contract). Mark handles many kinds of home repairs and installations. Highly recommend.
