I had a great experience and five years later there was no question who I would call when my 25-year old garage door was in need of repair. Doug's son, Dan, is now in charge and he is as good as his dad. Very knowledgeable without being pushy and takes the time to answer all my questions. When Dan came to my house, I had asked for a quote for a new garage door because my old one was falling apart. My thought was it didn't make sense to pay for repairs if I'd be paying again in a few months for a new garage door. I was so surprised at how reasonable the cost was for a new quality door with expert installation. I went ahead with the new door and the whole process from ordering to installation was pain free. The whole process took less than a week and I couldn't be happier. The door is great quality (better than my old door), well insulated and included weather stripping. Even after the sale, when I contacted Dan about a minor concern, he came back to my house within a day or two to reinforce a piece of edge trim free of charge. Great sales and service. I highly recommend Menard Garage Doors. You will not be disappointed!

Not the same!! Whomever is operating under the Calder name…read moreis destroying their wonderful reputation. I have used them several times over the years. On Tuesday, a spring snapped. I called and it was like I was a new customer. They would get somebody out on Thursday, maybe sooner. I never waited more than a few hours when I had worked with them previously. The tech arrived today at 12:15, as timestamped by my security cameras, and pulled the door in the truck closed at 12:57. Forty-three minutes by my count. I was charged 1.5 hours labor, $256. $200/hour! the last time I had springs replaced by Calder, the same exact job on my other garage door, the entire bill was $181. I will NEVER use this company again. They are definitely not the same company. - in name only. Caveat Emptor!!

Our experience with Eugene at Pioneer Valley Handyman was disappointing. We are stationed overseas…read moreand needed some work done for our tenant in our rental. After we agreed on a price, things changed once he arrived. He added work without gaining approval first. In fact, we had told him in writing that the tenant might ask for more work to be done, but we were not authorizing it. He did it anyway and charged us. He was also not transparent about disposal fees until he was already on site and there wasn't much we could do about it. Not only did he lack transparency, but his overall professionalism was lacking. We had to ask, multiple times for an invoice for our records. The invoice terms stated Net 30 but he began harassing us to pay the invoice via text and email within hours of sending the invoice.

I checked BBB, and top of their list was Father and Son, right here in town. One panicked phone call later I was told that Carl would be here within the hour. He pointed out the errors that had been made in the earlier installation and corrected them. I would gladly have paid twice as much for the service provided, and highly recommend them to one and all.

We had issues with the cables on our garage door which was replaced by another overhead door…read morecompany a few years back . I called Unwin Door by accident thinking they were the original installers. Low and behold I had made a mistake and called another door replacement company. On arrival the repairman showed me the issue was part of the previous companies type of installation and product. He replaced the cables and springs quickly. The Unwin repairman also compared their heftier replacement cables and springs to the originals . There is a very discernible size difference when comparing them . The replacement was fast , he was courteous and price reasonable. And how to upkeep and lubricate them. My comment to any door replacement customer would be to visually inspect the products and designs , the lowest price does not always the best ,and it may mean quicker repairs . Thank you Unwin!
