There are only 2 benches to sit, and they're close together so I had to go a long way before I could sit. Plus a couple of stretches without shade. It was my own fault for going during a heat wave. I'll wait for some cooler weather before returning. I can't wait to see what's further out on this trail.

There is a body of drinking water that the town uses for its water but the trails are not super close to it. For a bit of one, you can walk near it and the views are pretty. We saw a cool bird near the water - but couldn't tell what it was. It seems like there are some swampy areas so be prepared for the bugs and don't forget to always check for ticks. They're really bad this year!

In late July I was told it would arrive early August in mid August I was told late August and in late august was told "any day" and it's now September and still no calls, no canoe. Meanwhile all other proprietors have major sales and I'm leaving town for 2 months so will have to pick it up in spring. While I know they didn't intentionally mislead me, it's at minimum a huge bummer and at worst wildly unprofessional to give such incorrect information over and over. Really wish I would've gone somewhere else.
