I got a botches color job that had ruined the texture of my hair, i had gotten an uneven cut and Ruby took the time to hear my issues, made some great recommendations- not stuff to buy from there or anything - but just things to try that were really helpful for my particular situation and just really listened to what i wanted and truly delivered! So I'm hoping my experience can help the owners a bit, as I love having independent salons in the valley! The salon is nice! Pretty decor, nicely organized products, and very clean! Parking is relatively easy, you just might have to drive around a few times, because it's a poorly designed mid-century parking lot but, hey it's the North Valley. Apparently they had cars that could turn 90 degrees back then. Anyhow. When I got to the salon I was promptly and kindly greeted, and there seemed to be a nice energy. Which was pretty much consistent for the three or so months I went there. I think perhaps I just got matched with the wrong stylist. I was referred to my stylist by a friend who also went to him. Things started off alright. He did his best to get a sense of who I was, and what I was looking for in a haircut I think. I initially wanted a shorter bob after being mid-length for a couple months, and he was cool with taking it short! But after a few sessions, he sort of stopped taking time to listen to me about my haircut choices and instead focused more on personal life and gossip. At first it was that he started to make increasingly sarcastic and inappropriate comments and steer towards uncomfortable discussions. But it got to the point where he would start to gossip about other clients at the salon, saying how he hated some of them and would actively try and avoid them when he saw them out in public. I really would try and steer things to a positive direction but...I just felt there was nothing I could say that would not be met with a dismissive or negative attitude. I think he's a fine hairdresser, especially if you're looking for more of a harsher or thinned out silhouette and he does fantasy colors on dark bases well. But the cuts I got just didn't give off the right vibes and I always felt his color choices were a bit off. Every time I left the salon I felt like I had just stepped out of someone else's emotional hurricane. It's also taken like 4 months for all my hair to grow back... A hair cut should not make you feel angry, dejected, demeaned, and frustrated. It should make you feel empowered, enlightened, and so happy you can't stop smiling when you get home. This wasn't it.

Before my appointment, I messaged the salon owner and explained that I'm very nervous about getting haircuts because I've had a bad experience in the past. She reassured me that I would be in good hands with Cassandra. I also personally explained my concerns to Cassandra when I arrived. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was the worst haircut I've ever had. When I left, my hair was noticeably uneven all around. I was extremely upset because I had specifically communicated how anxious I was about my hair and trusted the salon to take care of me. During the appointment, Cassandra also suggested using a hot tool to place curls at the bottom of my hair so they would hold. I did not ask for this additional service, yet I was charged over $120 for the haircut and blow-dry. After I contacted the salon owner to explain that my haircut was completely uneven, I was offered the option of returning that same day so Cassandra could fix it. After having an experience like this, I was not comfortable going back to the same stylist or salon to have the haircut corrected. I declined and asked about receiving a refund. What disappointed me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I was only offered a refund for the haircut and not the blow-dry service. As a stay-at-home mom with two little ones, I don't have an income of my own and rarely get the opportunity to take time away for myself. Spending over $120 on a haircut and blow-dry was already a significant expense for me. I then had to arrange childcare, spend additional money, and find another hairstylist to correct the haircut. This wasn't simply a haircut I didn't personally like. My hair was left visibly uneven, and I had to spend even more time and money having another professional fix it. I'm extremely disappointed not only with the haircut itself, but with how the salon owner handled my concerns afterward. I expected empathy and accountability, especially after I had made my anxiety about haircuts clear before my appointment. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Granada Hair and Makeup to anyone looking for a haircut.

Does anyone know the feeling of being lost when a three decade relationship has ended.... And on March 1, 2025 I went to another hairdresser and within 6 weeks I had 3 treatments. Yeah I agree it's a lot but it was my choice (no negative comments here pls - again it was my decision) on getting my hair highlighted plus my hair can handle the overwhelming chemical treatment. However, even after 3 treatments I wasn't happy with the result. Then heaven opened its door and I found TK Salon! Went had my consultation and a month later (I had to reassure Hang that my hair can handle the chemicals - lots of pleading I might add here) got my appointment! After 7 hours later in the chair.... During my appointment, my hair was bleached, and afterward my scalp began hurting significantly. By the following day, the pain had become so severe that I was crying and screaming. I have never experienced anything like this after having my hair done before. Unfortunately, I did not have medical insurance at the time, so I was unable to seek medical treatment. However, people who saw my scalp afterward expressed concern about how it looked, and the pain and burning continued. Approximately a month later, I went to Ulta to have my hair looked at. Employees there pointed out areas of damage to my hair and explained what they were seeing. My hair is now damaged, and what concerns me even more is that approximately a month after my July 9th appointment, my scalp is still in significant pain and continues to burn. I'm not writing this review to ruin anyone's career. I genuinely wanted to let the situation go, but I'm still dealing with the consequences of this appointment a month later. I'm sharing my experience because I don't want someone else to go through what I have experienced.
