Before my appointment, I messaged the salon owner and explained that I'm very nervous about getting haircuts because I've had a bad experience in the past. She reassured me that I would be in good hands with Cassandra. I also personally explained my concerns to Cassandra when I arrived. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was the worst haircut I've ever had. When I left, my hair was noticeably uneven all around. I was extremely upset because I had specifically communicated how anxious I was about my hair and trusted the salon to take care of me. During the appointment, Cassandra also suggested using a hot tool to place curls at the bottom of my hair so they would hold. I did not ask for this additional service, yet I was charged over $120 for the haircut and blow-dry. After I contacted the salon owner to explain that my haircut was completely uneven, I was offered the option of returning that same day so Cassandra could fix it. After having an experience like this, I was not comfortable going back to the same stylist or salon to have the haircut corrected. I declined and asked about receiving a refund. What disappointed me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I was only offered a refund for the haircut and not the blow-dry service. As a stay-at-home mom with two little ones, I don't have an income of my own and rarely get the opportunity to take time away for myself. Spending over $120 on a haircut and blow-dry was already a significant expense for me. I then had to arrange childcare, spend additional money, and find another hairstylist to correct the haircut. This wasn't simply a haircut I didn't personally like. My hair was left visibly uneven, and I had to spend even more time and money having another professional fix it. I'm extremely disappointed not only with the haircut itself, but with how the salon owner handled my concerns afterward. I expected empathy and accountability, especially after I had made my anxiety about haircuts clear before my appointment. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Granada Hair and Makeup to anyone looking for a haircut.

When I arrived and texted again to say I was finding the suite, she finally replied that she had to cancel due to personal problems. While I completely understand that life happens, I was already thirty minutes away from home and it was disappointing to find out only after I had arrived. A quick message beforehand would have saved me the drive and gas. I responded kindly, wished her well, and said I would be happy to reschedule but never heard back. I even followed up again the next day, October 21, and still received no reply. I truly wanted to love my experience and was excited to become a new client, but the lack of communication and professionalism left me really disappointed. When charged for the appointment and a call was made to the location, no one would accept responsibility. Each person talked to would kick the can down the street reporting someone else needed to make the decision to refund or credit the charge. Upon asking what telephone number AND WHAT EMAIL was on file the computer mysteriously froze and the information, per the person on the phone, was not available. This stemmed from an initial call Saturday and a follow up call Monday, September 26 and 28, respectively. FAST forward to October 1, 2026, the Encino location called asking for an email address. Seems this is merely a tactic to backtrack their ineptitude and lack of attention to detail in securing an email from the beginning of the process. As of October 2, 2026, no email correspondence has been received. YET ANOTHER example of over promising and under delivering. This location is now trying to cover themselves for the pending investigation into unauthorized charges. Hopefully the owners and personnel are able to look themselves in the mirror and smile, as well as sleep at night, knowing they intentionally set out to deceive, defraud and steal from the public. Charges are being and will continue to be disputed. While Encino attempts to build their papertrail, we will do the same, to potentially seek alternative remedies available. The saga continues. The lack of customer service, commitment to honesty and inherent lack of integrity or morals is an example of what not to do. So much for the "golden rule."

I used to do the Brazilian keratin treatment but it made my scalp hurt. I couldn't put my hair up because it would hurt. I didn't have that problem with the puraluxe and it lasts much longer!
