I hadn't roller skated since I was 12 and now I'm a really confident skater. It's a great workout too! You won't get this kind of attention and instruction anywhere else. This place focuses on adult skaters, age 21 and older. The classes are small. I took a class for one hour on Sundays with the same 8 people and we kept building upon what we learned. Adjustments and modifications are available for people with injuries too. We had students of all ages in this class, from 30's to 70's and we could all do it and work at our level. This personalized type of class doesn't exist anywhere else. Also, on Wednesday nights at 8:30pm, you can come here and practice and skate for $10. (They have free parking available out front.) I had the good fortune to be taught by the owner, Keith. Keith is a spectacular skater and human being. He is kind, patient, funny, and an excellent teacher. He has truly built a supportive skating community and I'm honored to be a part of it. Keith offers a variety of classes and he is also working on new classes to offer. He's open to ideas and feedback too. I'll be taking a class on outdoor skating next, as well a workshop on backwards skating. Learning how to skate here was the best decision I've made in a long time. I highly recommend taking class and joining this awesome skating community!

They gave me 10 big tokens which then you have to put big coin into token machines to turn it into 10 little coins.I thought it Is kinda weird and the worst thing is the machines aren't in perfect condition. 3 out of 10, it didn't dispense tokens like it supposed to. Renting skates was easy at only $5, and we were able to spend 3 hours working up our skill and confidence without problem. The carpeted wall goes around the entire rink which is great for us beginners as many rinks don't have the full wall. The arcade is expansive and there is an indoor jungle gym for younger children. My avid skating friend shared that the music played at this roller rink has a better vibe with classic upbeat pop and a mix of newer songs such as Chappell Roan compared to roller rinks that are further north such as the Troy and Waterford area.

Limited food (not good), no upkeep mostly. Bad attitude (management) unprofessional, and don't care. I bet if "we" stop going maybe he will get IT? Clean the restrooms, clean up around there. Serve better food and options for families considering you want to charge much more since you took over! bottom line the old owners cared about us because they were us! that's what happens when they just come and buy up businesses but care less on how it should be operated in a matter that shows you care and appreciate your patrons that put up with some of the things we really shouldn't----And yes the Waterford roller Rink reopened and it is so clean---I suggest all that can make it out there to check it out! Very Disappointed -- $10 Just to Watch Your Child Skate…read more I've been bringing my toung teenager to Skate World in Troy on and off for probably 10 years, and today's experience was extremely disappointing. I dropped my my teenager and her friend off to skate. Later, with about two hours remaining before skating ended at 5:00 p.m., I wanted to go inside and watch them. I was told I would have to pay $10 just to enter and sit down, even though I wasn't skating. I understand charging admission when a facility is packed and space is limited. But today the rink was half-empty. On top of that, this is an outdated facility that, in my opinion, has seen very little noticeable update's over the many years Iwe've been coming here. What makes the policy even harder to understand is that I likely would have spent more than $10 inside buying food, drinks, arcade games, etc. Instead, the policy discouraged me from even coming inside. I spoke with the manager on duty, who was very polite and professional. I explained my concern, and she told me that customers have complained about this policy before and that she has brought those complaints to the owner. According to what she told me, the owner's position has essentially been that "customers will have to deal with it" That is particularly disappointing. Customers do have choices. Charging a parent $10 simply to come inside and watch their child skate--especially when the facility is nowhere near capacity--doesn't make me feel that my family's business is valued. After years of coming here, we'll be looking at other skating rinks in the area that are better maintained and where we feel our business is appreciated. Very disappointing experience.
