Roughly 14 years later, the Plymouth Bowl was closed in 1992, due to the age of the equipment and its much needed replacement. With the growing interesting in hockey as a high school sport in Michigan, local businessman John Stansik and several others decided to buy this place and turn it into hockey arena. Currently, this arena is home to Victory Honda AAA Hockey Club, The Livonia Ladywood Girls Varsity Hockey Club, Kim Muir's "Can't Skate, Can't Play" power skating clinics, and the RSPI Adult Hockey League, where I was able to catch one of their games. With no end to the current NHL lockout in sight, you can attend one of the many events that take place at this local arena. Arctic Pond features the EDGEZ Pro-Shop, which can help you with all of your equipment needs. Moreover, the part I like the most is it doesn't cost an arm and leg to attend the events here. So if you're craving the live-action of a hockey game, this is the place to visit in the Metro Detroit area.

Limited food (not good), no upkeep mostly. Bad attitude (management) unprofessional, and don't care. I bet if "we" stop going maybe he will get IT? Clean the restrooms, clean up around there. Serve better food and options for families considering you want to charge much more since you took over! bottom line the old owners cared about us because they were us! that's what happens when they just come and buy up businesses but care less on how it should be operated in a matter that shows you care and appreciate your patrons that put up with some of the things we really shouldn't----And yes the Waterford roller Rink reopened and it is so clean---I suggest all that can make it out there to check it out! I have so many fond memories of going here as a kid with my family, junior high and HS with friends, etc. It's not the most technically difficult course, or the flashiest, but sometimes you just want no frills, competitive fun. Great for folks of all ages and skill levels. I mean, I'm terrible at putt putt but I always did pretty good here! Love the last hole where you can try to win a free game. Shockingly I always had pretty good luck with that one, which meant I got to come back again! Keep it up, Garden City Miniature Golf!!

Despite these having cracks in the body, lack-luster paint and chunks of padding missing, these things were fast. The track was old, weeds growing TALL through the cracks in the parking lot and surrounding the track. Saw staff working on the broken theme pieces from a very tired looking mini golf course. The service was 10/10! Our only downfall was that they only had 4 bumper cars working and we were a total of 5 but we took turns. The service definitely made up for that. And inexplicably, there's also an old cannon. But what really matters is the DIY skatepark, built in an unused tennis court Burnside-style, asking forgiveness vs. permission (does any tennis court ever actually get used anyway?). It's a mix of rough concrete over cinder block and wood forms, interspersed with a bunch of other wooden boxes, benches, bars, banked walls, etc. It's got a giant crack running through the middle of the flatground, and the metal edging that serves as coping on all the boxes and paved ramps/quarter pipes is sharp and sticky. There's a crazy pink pump bump that barely meets the ground. Extra plywood and cinder blocks strewn by the edges. Parking blocks set atop an irregular spine, and an almost-smooth bank/quarter (a lot of the transitions here are to be found nowhere else). It's punk as fuck, and totally gnarly. The park might be free, but the price of admission is blood. Be prepared for a burly street session, trying not to constantly eat shit. I love our smooth-as-butter skatepark in Ann Arbor, but I also love this brutally-hardcore Ypsi setup. Hurts so good!

The park is open daily until 10pm. There are many amenities including a civic ice arena, playscapes, picnic tables, covered pavilions and baseball diamonds complete with bleachers and lights for night games. My favorite feature is the 1.2 mile asphalt walking path that circles through the park and accommodates bikers/skaters in one direction and walkers/runners in the other. The only drawback is the squirrels who people have fed over the years to the point now where they walk right up to you asking for food. There are always people in the park but it's never too crowded. It is well kept and even has bags conveniently located for dog owners to use to clean up after their pets. If you live in the Garden City, Wayne, Westland, Inkster or Dearborn Heights area and enjoy outdoor recreation then this park should be on your list.
