GM parts worked great, delivered fast. Communications were top notch. Bought VW parts also. Solid company in my opinion.

Update: Detroit staff reached out and were able to exchange the parts for me! I would recommend using this organization! sent me the wrong part and would not exchange them for the correct part (rotors). I do not recommend anyone do business w/ this organization. read more

up will make it more effective: I ordered four wheel bearings from Detroit Axle, but the parts never arrived within the promised timeframe. I returned the order and was told multiple times that my refund would be deposited into my account within 5-7 days. It has now been well beyond that timeframe, and I still have not received my refund. When I contact customer service, I get conflicting information--either that the refund is on the way or that I can only receive store credit. The communication has been poor and inconsistent. I was originally told I was eligible for a refund, but the issue remains unresolved. Very disappointing experience. Rating suggestion: 1 star if the refund still hasn't been received. read more

DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Last two orders: Full brake kit squealed like crazy, replaced them with Callahan and no issues. Detroit Axle said I needed to pay a "shop" to diagnose the parts before they will consider any replacement. I'm a master certified tech, have a degree as a High Performance Automotive Technician from the University of Northwestern Ohio, #1 school in the nation. 25 years experience, Mazda Master and ASE. Ordered Front wheel hubs for a BMW, wrong threads in the wheel side flange. Sent them back and they declined the return saying the parts were not in re-sale condition. Well yeah because they were installed then un-installed, they only sell one part for this car not multiple options and they do not list the undersized 12mm stud holes which should be 14mm. The knuckle side mounting dimensions were correct. Bad company, even worse customer service. read more

UPDATE JUNE 2026: Despite sending me. Message on Yelp, Detroit Axle still hasn't made this right. Furthermore, they sent documentation to Citibank so I lost my chargeback dispute, but are now telling me they lied to my bank. I still don't have my money back and it's been months. These people are lowlife scum thieves. This company is the worst company I have ever done business with. We purchased an axle November 25, 2025 because the seller guarantees a "lifetime warranty." March 12, 2026 the axle breaks, leaving the car undriveable. We immediately contacted them to receive the replacement part under the warranty. They made us pay the shipping cost on the new part. The part never arrived. Detroit Axle gave us a tracking number that never moved. The item was never sent. They're saying their warehouse doesn't have the item in stock. We asked for a refund for the part since they don't have the item in stock. They refuse to refund the price and said we need to wait the 3-6 months it could take to receive the replacement. They have stolen our money. We did a chargeback but I am unsure if it will be approved since the part was purchased November of 2025, even though the warranty fraud occurred March 12, 2026. This company literally stole our money. Edward A. read more

Don't trust this company! I bought Detroit Axle rotors and brakes on Amazon. They sent the wrong parts when I sent them back. They tried saying that I never sent the parts at all when I showed them the FedEx receipt then they claim that it was missing some parts inside and kept $60 out of $170. There are cheaters and scam artists! I wouldn't buy one thing from them! read more

Detroit is the worst of worst to say it nicely. Bad quality parts, bad honoring of warranty and the worst customer service. Ordered parts and confirmed verbally with Detroit axle and still sent wrong part and only offer to give me free shipping if I wanted to purchase the correct items. Next I replaced both cv axles and both axel boots were not clamped in correctly from the factory, again I called I. And they said the warranty was expired and that if I want to buy new ones again they would offer free shipping. So I opted to replace the breast and the clamps that last until today (about 2 yr) the drive side cv axle shattered apart in the tulip at the wheel hub. Cheap parts cheap fix DONT DO IT. I know better, if you are working on your own vehicle spend the money on the quality parts, since you are not paying mechanics/shop price. This issue started of costing me one day down of my truck for work and buying the correct parts locally just to get it done and now this broken cv axle. Other day of not getting to work with my tools and having to spend more money then I make in a day. Worst worst worst read more

Terrible experience. They changed my order right after I placed it. I tried to cancel it within 3 minutes of receiving the confirmation, but they refused and lied, claiming it had already shipped. When the package finally arrived, they had sent the completely wrong items. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM THIS COMPANY. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could give negative reviews of this company, I would. first off, the rotors they shipped to me failed within a year. After asking for a warranty claim, they made me pay for shipping that was almost the same cost as the replacement parts. After paying and receiving the parts I received the wrong parts and was forced to send everything back. they would not compensate for the shipping of the incorrect parts and delayed the parts even further. Customer service was not helpful in any manner. again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will not reimburse for their own shipping faults in any manner. they want you to uninstall any installed parts to send back the entire order. Shipping costs are nonrefundable even if they mess up and send you the wrong parts. They will not work with you in any way. read more

absolutely never purchase from them!!!! I bought new hubs and u joint axels. hubs failed within 7 days but wasn't making the typical sounds so we thought it was something else. Ordered sway bar links, a CV axle, and lower control arm from Detroit. EVERY part they sent me was the wrong part (some weren't even the right type of part... I got tie rod ends for a totally different car). When I returned the parts they refused to refund my money, saying the parts had been used. They weren't even parts for a car I own! I had no way of using them. Aside from some greasy fingerprints from trying to install the part before realizing it was incorrect, they part was returned exactly how i received it. When I contacted customer service about it after weeks of not receiving a refund, they hung up on me when I told them this. I ordered all 4 rotors and break pads. as my car is in the air, we find out they sent the wrong parts. I had to go buy pads from oriley's and spend 150$ on the correct brake pads. i called the next day to let them know they didn't fit, after reading the numbers to Kane he then verified the wrong parts were put in the correct box. He said they will give me a refund for the pads only. not the rotors n they would not send new ones. i mailed the pads back and called 1 month later. He said they did receive them , but they were used so no refund. I said how were they used? they were open amd we tried to use them but they did not fit!!! When I tried to purchase 1st time I got a message saying there was a problem with payment. I figured it was due to the hold on CC for a few days you make a payment. So I waited a few days and ordered them at a second attempt. It went through immediately. It wasn't until I received a second brake kit that I realized the 1st attempt to order actually did work. The return process was a nightmare as it is heavy and hazardous goods. Even the FedEx that does accept hazardous goods couldn't take it due to it being ground and not express. I had to schedule a driver to pick it up. I agreed to the return shipping fees. AFTER the return was complete I was notified I'd only get 16% of what I paid returned for "restocking fee". I could have sold the brake kit privately & recovered my costs with less labor and grief. They of course didn't notify me of the extra fees til they had the product back. All I was notified of from the begining was return shipping costs. Literally 16% return. The brakes have been installed for about a month now and still screetch which I've seen is a common issue with Detroit Axle break kits. Very poor customer support. I ordered over the phone a pair of quick struts. When they arrived, they did not fit. I called for an exchange and they did not have the part I needed after all. Horrible. Ordered a part 4 weeks ago. They sent me something a few days after I ordered, but it was the complete wrong package for somebody on the other side of the country. I've been lied to many times, being told I would receive the part in (72 business hours) when it's been 240+ hours now and still no sign of it. I have had no car for a month now because of them, having to inconvenience a lot of people who let me borrow their cars. **DO. NOT. BUY. FROM. DETROIT. AXLE.** If you have another option, use it. Their website says that depending on the time of day you place an order, it will ship that evening or the next business day. I ordered a rear brake kit on Monday. It is now Saturday morning, and my order has had zero movement. The only update is "label created," which means the carrier has not actually received the package. I have called every day since day 2 asking for an update, and later asking to cancel. Every call has been the same: no real answers, no confirmation, no urgency, and no one who seems able to actually locate or explain what is happening with the order. Their "cancellation department" apparently works separately from their "Unfortunately Department" and their "Check Back in 24 Hours Department," because nothing gets resolved. I was told I would receive updates or confirmation emails. I received nothing. I was told to keep checking back. Still nothing. Days after requesting cancellation, I still do not know whether the order is shipping, cancelled, delayed, lost, or just sitting in a warehouse somewhere collecting dust. The worst part is the complete lack of accountability. No matter how calm or professional you are on the phone, it feels like you are just being read a script by people who have no actual ability or interest in fixing the problem. At this point, I have to file a dispute with my bank just to get my money back so I can buy the parts from a company that actually ships orders and communicates with customers. Save yourself the stress. If you need auto parts within any kind of real timeframe, avoid Detroit Axle. Detroit Axle is completely incompetent - and anyone reviewing this company that is anything other than negative tells me 2 things: They either don't care how long shipping takes (and don't require contact or updates from the company) or is a paid bot. I hope to god someone reads this and chooses another source for their car parts. NOBODY should have to deal with what i've dealt with. read more

I should have come here to Yelp to look at all of these bad reviews before I purchased with Detroit Axle. I placed my order on 1/14/2025. Detroit Axle decided to "police" my order placing a hold on it until I called them and provided clarity on why my billing address is different than the mailing address. I guess they've never heard of ordering a part to be sent to your mechanic who has your car to repair. On 1/15/2025, put my order as "processing." On 1/16/2025, had to call again to inquire about why a tracking number had not been inputted...but this was after I requested an order cancellation and a full refund. read more

I've ordered from them twice now and both times I recieved several wrong parts. The first time they sent me the replacements very quickly and without hassle (wrong brake pads in a brake and rotor kit.) The second time they sent 2 wrong control arms in a tierod/ control arm kit. This time I was in a pinch to get my stuff fixed but they want me to send the wrong parts back before they'll send the right ones. Now I won't be able to get the job done in time. Pricing is great and the website is fairly intuitive. The parts have been of a decent quality, but I won't ever purchase from them again after consistently getting the wrong parts and now shoddy customer service. I work in the reman auto industry and I have been spreading the word of my experiences. Purchase from them at you own risk, especially if you need to get your fix done quickly, as it will take them a couple of tries to get you the correct parts...at least in my experiences. read more

SCAM ALERT!!! Similar to other reviewers experiences, they sent parts that didn't fit, lied, gaslighted and insisted they sent correct parts. A month of arguing, emailing and calling, and no resolution. I had to call Amazon, my credit card bank, the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General of Michigan and the State Secretary. When the bank restored my charge, Supervisor Jim Parker LIED and said I had installed the rotors on my vehicle. Fortunately, I had videotaped the packing and sealing of their brake kit while returning it, in the FedEx office, with the FedEx officer right there. FedEx also videotapes all office transactions. That, and I had photos of the rotors that are on my vehicle AND I can easily get the mechanic to verify this. A quick review of their yelp comments reveals a notorious pattern of dishonesty. We purchased AWD front and rear drilled brake rotors along with ceramic brake pads for our Volvo through EBay, and this has been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. Shortly after installation, the rotors proved to be unsafe and not functioning properly, making our vehicle unreliable and concerning to drive--especially with two babies in the car. We followed the company's exchange process, including having a mechanic inspect the issue and provide video documentation. Despite doing everything asked of us, the resolution offered was unacceptable. We were told that only the rotors were eligible for replacement--not the brake pads--and that we would be responsible for approximately $100 in shipping fees to receive the replacements. For a $250 purchase, it is unreasonable to expect customers to pay such a significant amount to fix a problem caused by defective parts. We spoke with Owen, who did not offer any alternative solutions after we expressed our disappointment. He simply repeated company policy and made no effort to help resolve the issue. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were not allowed to do so, which felt dismissive. We have purchased parts from this company in the past, but after this experience, we will not be returning. Expecting customers to absorb additional costs for faulty products, while refusing to escalate concerns or provide meaningful support, shows a lack of accountability and care for customers. read more
