Detroit Axle decided to "police" my order placing a hold on it until I called them and provided clarity on why my billing address is different than the mailing address. We purchased AWD front and rear drilled brake rotors along with ceramic brake pads for our Volvo through EBay, and this has been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. Shortly after installation, the rotors proved to be unsafe and not functioning properly, making our vehicle unreliable and concerning to drive--especially with two babies in the car. We followed the company's exchange process, including having a mechanic inspect the issue and provide video documentation. Despite doing everything asked of us, the resolution offered was unacceptable. We were told that only the rotors were eligible for replacement--not the brake pads--and that we would be responsible for approximately $100 in shipping fees to receive the replacements. For a $250 purchase, it is unreasonable to expect customers to pay such a significant amount to fix a problem caused by defective parts. We spoke with Owen, who did not offer any alternative solutions after we expressed our disappointment. He simply repeated company policy and made no effort to help resolve the issue. This company is the worst company I have ever done business with. We purchased an axle November 25, 2025 because the seller guarantees a "lifetime warranty." March 12, 2026 the axle breaks, leaving the car undriveable. We immediately contacted them to receive the replacement part under the warranty. They made us pay the shipping cost on the new part. The part never arrived. Detroit Axle gave us a tracking number that never moved. The item was never sent. They're saying their warehouse doesn't have the item in stock. We asked for a refund for the part since they don't have the item in stock. They refuse to refund the price and said we need to wait the 3-6 months it could take to receive the replacement. They have stolen our money. We did a chargeback but I am unsure if it will be approved since the part was purchased November of 2025, even though the warranty fraud occurred March 12, 2026. I even have an email from Detroit Axel stating it would be delivered on Tuesday. Horrible customer service they're online does not always have or explain the exact parts that they have and will send to you and when you get the wrong part, they charge you shipping back to them and they charge you restocking fees so pretty much half your money they get back anyways, so they win no matter what they've done. Stay away from this auto parts supplier, they do not stand behind their parts if they are defective. I bought a pair of wheel hubs with bearings. One of the hubs slipped on the spline like it should and the other did not, it was either manufactured wrong or the wrong part put in the right box either way the hub could not be installed and the time involved to figure this out cost me money. When I called customer service after waiting for almost a half hour on hold the service rep said I needed to take photos of the hub not going on the spline. I explained that this wasn't possible because my mechanic installed the one good hub and I left the shop. Now this company expected me to go back to my mechanic take the wheel off and whole brake assembly so I can take a photo of their defective part not going on the spline. Do they not understand mechanics get paid by the hour ? I guess not .... All auto parts manufactures have parts that at times are defective and Detroit Axle is no different. I would like to share my experience with this company and their products. When I first started doing business with them years ago, the products were good. Now recently, I have bought shocks and struts for two different cars and brake pads and rotors for two different vehicles. I can tell you that both vehicles worked better with the old parts the brake pads screech every morning before they get warmed up and the struts on both vehicles in the front shake, went under power and are wearing out the tires, extremely bad. Mind you both products are less than a year old. You get what you pay for do not buy these products. I haven't tried to use their warranty, but again I would have to waste money on labor, which I'm sure they won't reimburse. I wish I could return these products and get my money back.
