We were able to use his detailed report to guide our negotiation with the seller which made the transaction easier to complete. His use of the thermal imaging was worth the price paid as it helped us discover and negotiate a resolve for an issue the seller wasn't even aware of! I would use Shane again and recommend him to anyone looking to buy a home in New Jersey.

First off you…read moremight notice if you speak to them at the office or read up on the company that Shane is the only inspector, this is not a corporate business - this means savings! Shane beat the prices of the two other inspectors I requested quotes from and I was even able to get the infrared imaging to check the walls for moisture and whatnot. The inspection itself was super thorough, the inspection report was also very detailed and you can see a sample report on his website of what you will be getting from him. You can even create a list of items using the website the report is on and it is very easy to do, which you can send to the seller to request to be fixed before you agree on the price. We ended up saving a lot of time and money by sending this list over to the seller. Shane really looked into every crevice of the home, and by walking around with him he gave us some very good advice about what will cost a lot to fix and should be done professionally, and what we could probably do ourselves very cheaply. He also gave us some information in general that would be nice to know about your new home, such as pointing out where the electrical panels and water shutoff valves are. We even got a little book at the end about being a home-owner and things you should know when you own a home. We had actually been able to view two inspection reports on the same home from previous buyers that fell through, and Shane's inspection report caught a lot more things than the other two reports. If for some reason we ever need an inspector in the future we know we will call Shane first.

John gave us a competitive estimate in mid-2022 to renovate a hallway and half bath - a project delayed by budgets and the pandemic for about 4+ years. We set a start date of early January 2023 and John began his work. We found John and his colleague to be extremely professional, prompt and thoughtful in their work. What's more - John asked questions and verified details with us as he went. There was no assuming what we might want, and he offered helpful ideas and recommendations. Working in a fairly tight space, John and his colleague were respectful of the fact that I work from home and, although construction noise is unavoidable when tearing down walls and what have you, they were not intrusive or blasting loud music as they worked. I sincerely appreciated their professional manner and dress because my mother lives with us and I am keenly aware of how strangers in the house might make her feel uncomfortable. They were so polite and respectful of her and my family. That cannot be said of all contractors. Now, the work quality: I'd rate it excellent or better. John took great care to ensure the quality of the work and materials would meet or exceed our expectations. He even found a better solution for some cabinets for us that matched the style we wanted without impacting the budget. The drywall work was excellent. He managed to match and/or mirror some intricate moldings to exactly what we hoped for. John also stayed late once or twice because he wanted to make sure the quality of the work was also up to his high standards. Prior to hiring John, we had another company work on a basement renovation. The comparison was like night and day. The company handling the basement took too long, cost too much and the quality of both the work and the workers was not good. Brady Property Services was a study in contrasts with John's work completed in a timely manner, staying within a reasonable budget and producing outstanding quality in the work itself. We have more projects to complete, and John will now be our first call for all of them. I highly recommend him.

We are very happy with their service and would recommend them to anyone searching.

My experience is similar to most of the Yelp reviews. You pay for this service that is supposed to look at the property you intend to buy and alert you to problems and POTENTIAL problems so you can make informed decisions like; should I test to see if something is actually hazardous?, or should I walk away from this deal?, or can we make the owner fix this issue?, or should we negotiate a lower price? But they have you sign a contract that lets them off the hook for missing things... like asbestos popcorn ceilings. And they might not know much more than you do about potential health hazards, so they need a contract like that to stay in business. Did you know popcorn ceilings often contain asbestos? I didn't until a carpenter refused to work around it until I tested it. I would have tested all of the popcorn ceilings before I bought the place, had I been informed. Greg said the omission doesn't matter because it's impossible to test a ceiling before purchase, because nobody will let you ruin the ceiling by taking samples, but I pointed out that you can drop the light or fan canopies to get inconspicuous samples. He also said he would refund my money, but then he reported it to his insurance instead, and they said it's too late and the contract says they don't have any obligation to disclose such hazards. Well, gotta get back to encapsulating my asbestos ceilings so my grandchildren don't get mesothelioma from visiting... $1,276.05 well spent.

When he arrived, he really took the time to listen to our concerns and even asked to see some photos to get a better idea of what we were dealing with. After taking a look, he explained that the issue was actually outside the scope of what he usually inspects. But instead of just walking away, he stuck around, explained everything clearly, and gave us some super helpful advice. You can tell John really knows his stuff. He was professional, honest, and didn't try to sell us on anything unnecessary. In fact, he insisted on not charging us, saying he likes to "sleep peacefully at night." That says a lot about his character. He even sent us detailed suggestions on how to handle the problem--what kind of work would be needed, the materials to use, and even what kind of handyman to look for. He also gave us a few referrals to get started. We were originally planning a much more expensive fix, but thanks to his knowledgeable advice, we are able to switch to a more practical option and hence cut the cost in half. We really appreciate his honesty and guidance. He is the kind of handyman you would like to work with, especially for people like us after working with various dishonest handman/plumbers...He is definitely someone we'd trust and would go to for our future home improvement projects.

Just a quick update to my previous review written on 9/26/2021…read more First, NOTHING HAS CHANGED about the positive review I wrote about John's services, however after some time has passed since we first met John, I do want to add that John is absolutely and truly one of those people who keeps his promise of "feel free to reach out to me in the future and I will get back to you on it". Despite having completed our home inspection many months ago, as we settled into our home, we realized small things here and there that we didn't notice earlier. Every time we encountered something new, we thought any one of these questions - What can be causing this? How did this happen? How can we fix this? Will this cost much? Is this a small or big problem? The bottom line was where do we go from there?! ... JOHN to the rescue! Every time we had a question, not often, but the few times we did, we took John up on his generous offer of reaching out to him and, NOT ONCE, did John fail to respond within 1 day! Not only has John been extremely cordial and professional with every communication we had with him, but he takes the time to write out detailed, technical and specific instructions on how we could resolve our home issues. Honestly, we would be so lost without his guidance and advice, but he has made our transition into our home less stressful. Like I said in my earlier review, John was recommended by our realtor and we truly believe this was, hands down, the BEST recommendation out of all of the recommendations we received.

The first, in May 2022, we were doing inspections on a big fixer upper that had no utilities in place. It was down to the studs. Liset kindly explained that because they would be unable to perform a thorough inspection, however, she helped guide us in the right direction towards a structural engineer. She and Dan actually got on the phone with me on different occasions to walk me through the process! I was sure to use them for when we actually did find a home. The second, in August 2022, prior to the inspection, making an appointment with Liset was a breeze. She explained details of the inspection and Dan showed up early to the appointment! On site, he explained to us the details, process, and how long it would approximately take. He seemed very thorough and knowledgeable about all aspects of the home. The turnaround time for our report was about 24 hours and it was VERY detailed! We were SO impressed. Their website/program that they use to show the report is amazing and user friendly. He took a ton of photos and used the drone to view the roof. We are SO incredibly happy we used Daset for our home inspection and know we are in good hands! They are personable, kind, and seem very caring. Also - check out their Instagram - it's awesome. I will highly recommend to all my friends and family!!!

He was patient and thorough and did a very good job. Did not rush and took his time which I appreciated. The drone was a nice plus as well as the roof access hatch was sealed in (flat roof). Report was pretty clear and he reviewed it with me. He pinpointed that the brick foundation was taking in moisture due to the exterior grading and roof downspouts. Lastly it was relatively simple to schedule the inspection with his lovely wife Liset! They make a great team and I recommend Daset Home Inspections!

The inspection these people did of my recently deceased mom's house just unfairly cost me the sale…read moreof the house. The report was filled with speculation about possible problems that don't exist. My 89 year old mom religiously maintained the house as well as any in the neighborhood. After presenting their massive report to the buyers they demanded $40,000 from me to address "some" of the problems. They convinced the buyers there were many structural problems in the foundation and the walkways which would lead to water in the basement. In over 60 years my parents owned the house not one drop of water ever leaked onto the basement floor, yet they painted a picture of imminent flooding after 60 years of a spotlessly dry basement. No, the structure of this house is sound. They claim the walkway has a negative pitch leading toward the house and should be repaired to "reduce water entry into the structure". This walkway is original to the house and water has never entered the basement. The walkway they claim needs to be repaired because it's dangerous has miraculously never hurt the 7 of us who lived there and the ~2,000 people who have visited those 60 years. They might think they're showing their worth by creating a document giving the buyers an opportunity to drastically reduce the price of the house but it didn't work. We told the buyer we aren't fools, we won't play this game and now they need to look for a new home after expecting to close in 3 weeks. This "inspection" company ought to be ashamed of themselves for scaring the buyer away from a wonderful home.
