We love camping with the convenience of a restaurant on site. The owners and staff are friendly. The food is delicious 95% of the time. Sometimes the burgers and fries have been overcooked. Our favorites are prime rib Saturdays and any/all of their freshly made on-site desserts. We also love that they continue to make improvements and upgrades across their property. Looking forward to next year's stay already.

So my husband & myself along with our young son had been up in the area of Bonaparte Lake yesterday…read more& stopped in here to grab something to eat from the little snack shop they have attached to the restaurant. They didn't have anything that tickled my fancy but I could smell something Coming from the restaurant that made me decide to check out the menu. Of course my young son doesn't eat hardly anything, ( basically pizza or pizza sticks, so it's really difficult to get him to eat..welp anything really).. We ended up ordering their Greek salad & a side of home fries for my husband & myself to share & a kids chicken strip/fries for our son. We DO NOT like to go into restaurants really at all. Too many people, too much going on around us, judgemental people all the time etc etc, so like usual I ordered it to go. Then went back out to our truck to tell my husband & son how long til I could go back in & pick up the food. Our son told us that he wanted to go inside AND he wanted to sit down together INSIDE to eat & of course we did it for his sake. My husband will fight tooth & nail to avoid all public events & interactions usually but not this time. We go in & get sat down by a window overlooking the lake. There was a few folks there not much. Let me tell y'all from the moment we sat down, we felt comfortable, invited, not judged, not scrutinized, not any of the normal stressors that will normally get us to get out of any place as fast as possible! It was really refreshing! The manager guy was very very personable, very engaging but not overly so & the bartender guy was the same. We let our son color on a dollar bill & we all signed it & the manager, without even saying anything to him, brought us a stable gun that he quietly sat on the edge of our table so we could put the dollar up on their walls of bills when ready. The food was great - the fries where probably the best fries my husband & myself have had in a long time & our son ACTUALLY ATE HIS FOOD!!! Great job to the two guys working. Come check this place out, it's a good one with respectable folks running the show! Thanks for the great food & great memory with our son!

For us, the cabin was perfect -- with no accommodation surprises, same type and design as we have become accustomed to, and everything in working order. And we sure loved its location - with its more than ample space out front, and in back, to enjoy all the sights and sounds. The standard cabins have two bedrooms - one with a single, double bed, and the other, with two, twin-sized bunks. Plus, a hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. A well-equipped kitchen, with full-size fridege and electric range, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, and long, dining table. Like last year year, the Resort's 'Recreation Centre' was closed. Apparently, staff were working on renovations and such to some of the amenities. A slight disappointment for us, but we had thought it might still be closed due to Covid-19 concerns, so not a huge surprise. Some interesting surprise experiences during our stay though: -- on one day, two large helicopters used the field out front as a base to organize and conduct a search / rescue operation. Several people and dogs were involved, and several flights made to/from the areas being covered. A touch noisy, but sure interesting to watch the activities. -- on the next day, black bears decided to visit - their interests entered on the bbq & garbage container area directly out front from our cabin. We watched (outside from our picnic table) three separate visits over the course of the day, by both adult and younger bears. The colours and sizes of the bears indicated we saw at least three adult bears, and two younger ones. Our very first sighting of any bears there, and we got to watch at least five!! My camera could not do justice to the views, but the sights were rather exciting! 'Manning Park Resort' once again provided a wonderful stay. And the cabin itself, was truly our 'home-away-from -home' for the days spent in the Park. We sure enjoyed the time spent there, and as usual hated to see the time pass by so quickly, and our stay come to an end.

We ended up getting two bunk beds in a queen in one room and a queen in another room which worked out great with our kids. The cabins are comfortable except for there's no air conditioning in the cabins or even in the lodge. So keep that in mind if staying in the summer. There was a fan provided but only one for the whole entire room at night. It did cool off so we'd open up the windows to cool off the cabin. There was a strange smell, probably from the previous people's cooking in the cabin which was unpleasant for the first day.
