New Banh Mi place conveniently located across from the station near woollies.
The Pro's: bread freshly baked on site, it's $5.50 for a pork roll and thy have crispy skin pork
The con's: very inconsistent with their fillings. I've been quite a few times and normally get their pork roll but each time, something is missing (whether it be spring onion, or coriander or even one of the three pork slices), I've even been blamed for the missing ingredient when pointed out (you didn't say you wanted chilli - actually I DID). Also, if there is great competition for your product in the area (Hong ha roll or even Mr Nam) you should not be stingy with your fillings. This place consistently gives you a scant amount of filling, even though their rolls cost the same as their competition. At least plump it up with carrot or something if you're going to be so stingy on meat or coriander.
But the main reason I won't be going back here is because I had the pleasure of being one of the first customers on an early weekend morning. I saw the baker take out a tray of fresh baked bread from the oven, drop one on the floor and then pick it up and add it to the other rolls as if nothing happened, for the next unsuspecting customer. This is a food safety concern. read more
