Drinks were made super fast. Tried the mochi donuts, they were good but could be a little chewier. Tried the honeydew and the churro. Drink were good. Nothing super special. I love this place!! They've come a long way with adding a bunch of different snacks! They have a variety of mochi donuts, bubble waffles, Korean corn dogs, boba drinks and finger foods! The place is small, cute and always clean! It always feels welcoming when I go! My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is sometimes the mochi donuts aren't always consistent. Some times they are perfection and sometimes they are a bit over fried and crunchy. I think I've tried almost all the flavors of donuts they offer and they are all delicious! But even more when they are cooked right ;) Definitely check this place out! Especially if you see all those videos of people eating Korean corn dogs. Get your fix! read more

I'm so happy I ran into this place. I'm seldom ever in watsonville but I just had to give this place a try. It's absolutely adorable inside this shop. They have a beautiful flower wall where you can take selfies at. And the food and the drinks were absolutely tasty. I had the half and half classic corn dog and it was perfectly melty and crunchy and I loved all of the sauce options that they had for you to drizzle on top. On mine. I chose the spicy mayonnaise and the sweet and spicy sauce. For dessert, I ordered the milk cereal mochi donut. And although I have had better mochi donuts, this was actually still very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also ordered the guava lychee fruit tea with lychee Crystal boba. I did forget to flavor the sweetness down as I prefer it to be at 0%. So the only suggestion I have is to ask your customers what sweetness level they would like. Nevertheless, it was still a very good drink. Since periodically I come here to work, I definitely will put this in my place to stop by whenever. I'm here in watsonville. I see some real potential in Dessert Lounge! The type of Asian influenced snacks they often such as the mochi donut and Korean corn dog are typically found closer to the bay. It's a bit niche. Hopefully Watsonville likes them! Walking in I thought they were still in their soft opening stage which looks like it was about a year ago. The interior is a little bare aside from 2-3 kiosks, some seating, and the selfie wall. The rest of the walls are blank white. The kitchen area is completely covered by a grey curtain. With a little polishing I think it'd lot cuter. We weren't greeted by anyone. The only time we saw an employee was when they popped out from the kitchen to give us our items. We ordered the lychee guava fruit tea regular sweetness, the taro coconut mochi donut, and two scoops of ice cream in a cone. Ordering was quite easy to use the kiosks. They were very intuitive. They show which items are out of stock. The kiosk is payment by card. They have an option for paying in cash up in the front near the kitchen. The ice cream was good. Generous scoops. Not much to say about ice cream. The lychee guava tea was tasty and refreshing but very sweet. Next time I'd choose less sweet. The mochi donut was very warm/fresh. Good flavor. I've never had a mochi donut before. It was like a chewy donut. The color of the donut was golden. It did not taste like grease. The taro coconut topping was a little messy/melty. Overall it's a unique dessert place. If I'm in the area again I'd like to try a Korean corn dog or see if they have the bubble waffle ice cream cone in stock. read more

Wow, so glad we found this place while traveling through the area! My fiancée and I came in during their soft opening and, lucky enough, their first day serving mochi donuts! Everything was SO delicious. My fiancée got the sweet watermelon slush (they also have a spicy one) that had a fresh watermelon flavor and real fruit chunks at the bottom. I got a dragon fruit mango tea slush that had an absolutely fantastic flavor. Both drinks had the perfect amount of sweetness and were perfectly refreshing. The mochi donuts-- seriously, WOW. Delightfully crisp on the outside and chewy inside, served warm. They were better than the last mochi donuts we spent almost twice as much on in the Bay area. I think some folks might complain that they're a little expensive (we spent $30 on two drinks and 6 donuts), but I'd say it's well worth the money. Service was quick and nice. Found this spot across the way from our new favorite spot for Pho. There is an option to order ahead. Nice store front with limited seating. Cozy and on the smaller side. So this was a tough review for me to make because when the dessert lounge first opened, they had hands-down the most delicious donuts I've ever had in my life. And the last three times I went I feel like the donuts are getting more and more stale. They were so soft and fresh and could put Krispy Kreme to shame when they first opened now today it was the last time I'm gonna order. The donuts were definitely at least a day or hold or maybe they were cooked this morning, but they were so stale that there was no way that we could eat them. It's so unfortunate. I kept trying hoping it was just bad timing in the past few times I went. So maybe it's just different and cost-effective for them not to make them fresh anymore. Only come here if you have 1 hour to spare.. they take forever making the food. I waited about 30 min to get my corn dog only. I had ordered a corn dog and waffle fries $18+tip. the girl only handed me my corn dog after the 30 min nothing else. I waited 10 more minutes then decided to go ask for my fries. They were ready sitting on the table behind the register. I got in my car and opened the fries they felt practically frozen from how cold they were. At this point i'm annoyed because they took so long to give me my food and they give me some sorry ass fries that they just pulled out the freezer. Went to try the Mochi donuts when they had their soft opening but they didn't have them. Came back yesterday and they have them now but was left feeling very underwhelmed. The donuts were overly greasy and didn't live up to the hype. I also ordered 3 different corn dogs which never came out with my order. I looked and they were just sitting on the counter in the back. Who knows how long I would have been waiting if I wouldn't have asked about them. The corn dogs were also disappointing since they had become cold from just sitting. I really wanted to like this place since it's the only thing like it in town but sadly I won't be back. It's the only place in the Santa Cruz area that sells Korean corn dogs and they are VERY good. Their mochi and mochi donuts are great. Definitely 5 star in terms of the employees and food. I am going to mention some advice to the owners though: ( don't let this reflect the opinion of the food and employees because that's all amazing ) The name "desert lounge" is not an attractive name and doesn't represent the food they sell well at all. We almost didn't come there specifically because the name and decor of the outside had a tacky look to it. The inside: having grey curtains behind the counter and in front the kitchen make the whole operation seem sketchy to some people. It would be better to let people see what's going on in the background or get a solid wall built. ( I do understand that it is a new business and there is room for upgrades in the future ) the grey curtains make the location feel cramped and it could feel more open without them. You really need to re name and re do the outside the business to get your point across. Especially since the majority of watsonville speak Spanish and "desert lounge" doesn't explain the actual the products you are selling in an appetizing way. ( not saying it needs to be in Spanish or anything ) but desert lounge could be anything and I'm almost positive with a name change you could get more business. If you name your establishment "Dessert Lounge" I can't resist coming in. The first time, it was during their grand opening and the menu was limited so I was not impressed. I gave another try more recently and loved the mochi donuts. They're so trendy in urban areas so it's nice to have it in Watsonville. There is a variety of flavors to choose from, enough to make many palates happy. In general mochi donuts are gluten free (rice flour), but you'll have to ask if certain flavors may have gluten. On the box, it also lists the neighboring Pho Kitchen, so looks like same owner or a collaboration. I noticed a young gal enjoying her hot Cheetos corn dog--not something I would like, but she sure seemed to love it. The ordering process is via a tablet but you can also order with a live person. There are only a few seats in this small place, so we took our donuts to go. It was full on a weekend afternoon. read more
