I received so many compliments on the colors of roses, and flowers chosen to compliment to tones we chose for our wedding theme. The bouquets, the flower arrangements, and even the boutonnieres...Marina went above and beyond, I truly believe she is an artist with how everything came out. Marina was a delight to work with, especially since we had been working with her for 2 years to in creating my vision into real life. She asked a lot of good questions and spent a long time with me and my husband going through pictures of flowers to help her figure out what kind of flowers I wanted at the wedding. She's friendly, nice and takes a lot of interest in getting to know her couples. She even called me a few days before the wedding to say hello and just make sure everything was going well! Marina was recommended to me by a family member after my previous florist fell through. I was a little nervous because I had originally sought after florists who had a more loose and wild, organic look, and a lot of Marina's work seemed to have a more traditional look. Nevertheless, I decided to trust my aunt on the recommendation and shared my vision with Marina. I also showed her pictures of an inspiration bouquet and told her to basically make it for me. When I got her notes back with prices, I noticed the words "loose," "airy," and "hand tied" were written first. I felt better because I knew she understood the style I wanted and was open to it. She also put together a sample of a centerpiece for me so I could see how the flowers looked together. She was very open to revisions and was happy to show me two different colored dark red roses so I could see the color difference in person. Later on, she showed me a sample of the centerpiece mason jar and burlap wrap on it, and allowed me to tweak the style a little. She was also kind enough to do a last minute substitution the week of the wedding when we reduced the number of tables, and created grandmother corsages instead. When she came to my house to do part of the delivery the morning of the wedding, I was in awe by how beautiful it was! I couldn't stop going to the table to look at my bouquet. The fact that she nailed a look that seems a bit outside her usual style just proves her talent and ability to be versatile for her clients! The only thing I know about flowers is that it's nice to send them to people when they're sick or had a baby or a death in the family and that they smell nice and look pretty. I phoned Designs by Marina , 12/15/16 . My sister had a surgery 12/14/16. I was wanting to send flowers to her the next day . I left a message on their answering machine early in the day, expecting a call ...........No call . The next day still no call. So if you call Designs by Marina and you get the answering machine , hang up & call someone else because it's just not important to this company! I ordered a bouquet of roses and lilies 4 days before my girlfriend's birthday, and based on her reaction it turned out great! The bouquet had to be ready an hour before business opened for the day, but they worked with me to make sure it was available. Although the woman working the desk (maybe Marina?) was clearly busy, she did take some time to help me make design decisions and was generally helpful. That said, do your homework first. Be prepared with at least a general idea of what you want and the time it should be available. It also doesn't hurt to visit the shop personally to make sure the expectations are clear, but that applies to any business of this sort. I should also note this was a one time visit and I cannot gauge consistency, however the experience did exceed my expectations. read more

The reason for my low review comes from their sense of urgency or lack there of, I called Designs by Marina about 2 days ago to order a bouquet for my mother as a mothers day gift, she was out of the country for the official holiday. She just got back and was at home all day which is a rarity my mother is always everywhere but home so i thought to myself and said lets get her flowers!! well I called at around noon placed the order and she said that their delivery man was out but that they will get out shortly since my mothers house is not even a mile away. well lets fast forward to about 4:30 pm I call my brother and he said she hasn't received anything..... blah OK i call around 9am the next day gave my information to the person who answered the phone, I never got a call back or an update or an apology. I am really disappointed because i am so PRO small business, I would never look into order from 1800 pro flowers because I like to see neighborhoods thrive and give my hard earned money to the small businesses. I would like to point out that i am not upset because the flowers were not delivered but I am upset at the fact that they didn't find it important to inform me that they were not going out that day but they could take care of it the next day. or the day after that... She asked how far away I was and I replied I was already driving over. She quickly said ok and got to work. When I arrived she was almost done I only had to wait 5 minutes or so. $30 for a white rose condolence arrangement in a clear vase I consider a good deal and she only had a few minutes notice. I hate to give a negative review, but I ordered a corsage here. We asked if they do something non-traditional and the woman who helped us said they do a bracelet type. We thought that would be simple and elegant. I picked it up and it looked beautiful, but honestly I should have taken it out of the box. However, I had read such amazing reviews I didn't think twice. Well when we finally took it out of the box I realized the flowers were being held by hot glue and within the first minute of putting it on a flower fell off, but we were hopeful it was just a fluke. While taking pictures another flower fell off. We couldn't believe it. She didn't even wear it to the dance because it fell apart. I called the shop to let them know what happened, no one answered so I left a message. Since it's prom season I didn't want it to happen to another girl. I didn't want anything from the shop, I wasn't asking for my money back or free flowers and I told them that. I just didn't want it to happen to anyone else. I left my phone number as well and asked them to call me back. No one ever called me back to apologize for what happened. Never an I'm sorry the corsage lasted less then 30 minutes.
