I recently bought a subscription at Designer Tan in McDonough and went in for my tan just last Thursday. Everything seemed normal, no mention of any plans to close. Then, on November 1st, I was charged for a full month's membership. When I went back today, the doors were locked with a master lock and the building was completely empty. There was a sign on the door saying they were moving to another city and that I could visit another McDonough location, which is over 45 minutes away from my home and the now closed location was less than 10 minutes. Quick and easy spray tan for $30 Light it's still dark. Clean place. Easy to find. Operation hours are slightly different than on the page.

Overall, do not recommend. Very outdated. The room didn't even have a shelf, hook or anything to place your belongings. There was also a rug in the room that was damp and dirty. The bed squeaked and made a ton of noise the entire time and generated little to no heat. After 15min, zero perspiration. The towel was even rough and old as if it had been being used as a cleaning rag for years. Everything was very cringe. Designer Tan is a not even a good place to work if you are looking for a part time position. You only make $8.00 an hour; You also receive pay in the form of a check. Three or Four times while working at Designer Tan my check was 2-3 days late. When I called the female owner , I was ignored. The male owner began to bring the checks after that;But there is no guarantee what time of the day you will be paid or if he can even make it that day. You also DO NOT receive a pay stub even when you request one!! The female owner degrades and curses out employees for things out of their control. Such as Tanning beds messing up, Computer or Wifi issues, etc. There is no promotion system by any means. I was told upon hire that I would get a raise within 3 months. After 3 months , I was then informed that a promotion happens after a year. For $8.00. You will most definitely do things NOT in your job description. The worst part of all is the owners and manager who treat you and speak to you with no regard to your emotions. read more

I don't normally write reviews but felt the need to warn other people that may come across this problem. I wanted a tan before we went out of town and told the girl behind the counter that the last spray tan I had was over 10 years ago so I needed guidance. she assured me that everything was going to be fine and that I should go for a "medium glow". she was very kind and helpful at the time. But the problem began when I woke up the next morning and I was bright orange. I literally had to look online for lemon scrubbing recipes so I wouldn't be humiliated on my trip. we showed the manager my picture of my bright orange face and they claim it is somehow not their fault. no refund. That was a waste of 30 something dollars and a close call for me to have to push back my vacation. read more

I have had numourus problems with them. I got my daughter a spray tan for her pageant. I was told the sprayer was not working properly. They did it anyway. The next day her tan was not even. I called and told them. They handed me the phone to talk to the owner. He was very argumentative. He told me to not even write a bad review. This conversation went in for about 29 min. He finally asked me if I wanted another spray tan for her and I said no. Her event was over. I simply wanted my money back. I finally got it back with a few sessions in a bed for her whenever she wanted it. I now am having another issue. I laid in bed 11 and I was cold the whole time. I got out after my session and reported that the bulbs were not hot and I had no enhanced tan lines. I was actually cold in the bed. The owner argued with me about the bed. I wanted another day added to my month due to the fact it was wasted on a bad bed. No was the answer. They often say they will have someone call you but I never get a call. They also have one bed that the top part needs to be tightened or it will slam down on you. I hold it a tad open with my foot. This bed has been broken for months. Enter at your own risk. read more

I decided to check this place out to see if they offered a spray tan option. This place is located in the Southpoint shopping center and it is huge. I was not able to see all the different tanning beds they had to offer, but from what I saw there were a lot of options. I went with the Versa Spa Spray tan machine and I was very happy with the results. I think the spray tan machine is a nice option if you don't want to come to the salon everyday to lay in a tanning bed. The girl at the front desk did a great job of explaining how to use the machine and how to stand in it to get the best results. The Versa Spa offers a clear or bronze solution and you can choose light, medium, or dark. I went with clear, dark and It was exactly what I wanted. It does not feel sticky or have an odor. I did not have an orange tint at all. The salon also offered barrier cream to put on places where you did not want the spray tan( in between fingers and toes). They also had baby wipes to use to wipe off deodorant and lotion. It was $30, which I thought that was a decent price and it lasted for 7 days. This is a very clean tanning salon with lots of options, so definitely check them out! read more

I can't agree with the negative reviews since I have had such a great experience here... they were very friendly and knowledgeable. The girl was up front about the prices and auto billing. They made it very clear what you are signing up for, and gave detailed instructions on how to cancel the automatic billing. She even cancelled it for me since I only wanted 1 month. Very clean establishment and high quality beds. Highly recommend!! read more

I have been going here for five years; this place it top notch! Nicole is amazing and all tbe girls shs hires are so friendly, beds are spotless everytime you walk in. Prices ars very resonable for these high quality professional beds. Ive never been disappointed. Nicole has several salons mostly south GA so im going to really miss going here when i move to fayetteville next month. read more

The staff is rude, and the business owners are very unprofessional. I seen a staff member picking trash out of a trash bag, instead of taking the full bag out and changing it. Very unsanitary.... I highly recommend Q-Tan. !!!!!! read more

Do NOT go here! They will continue to draft from your account even when your contract is up. I tried several times to speak to the owner/manager but they would not return my call. So they kept my $180 even though I didn't tan for two months. Extremely disappointed in this establishment! read more

Friendly faces, clean environment, but felt trapped by the monthly contract which doesn't say, but must be cancelled by the 15th of the month. If they'd do away with that super secret policy, this place would be perfect. read more
