Don't buy their LED Daylite Mini Headlight. Overly expensive and bad coverage. I bought one 2 years and 4 months ago. The on - off button has lost its ability to easily turn on. I can turn on but you have to push it really hard and several times to get it to turn on or off. Called to get it repaired. They only cover 2 years and after that, they do not repair them. You can't even pay to have it repaired... They just tell you that you have to buy a new battery. Do NOT buy this product. There are plenty others on the market which are cheaper, lighter, better quality and can be repaired. read more

I ordered a light for my loupes and was told in a week it would arrive. I am a dentist who relies very heavily on being able to see. Each day is difficult to do the best work without a working light. I called today and found out it has not even shipped and it has been 9 days already! The customer service agent, Stephanie, said it would now ship out at the end of the week which means, if it does, I will not receive them until middle of next week at the earliest. 2.5 -3 weeks for a lightbulb? I am amazed that a simple light for my loupes that needs no measurements or specifics takes this long. Very disappointed with this company. read more

Worst customer service ever!!! I ordered my new loops in Nov 2023 and the new system came at he end of Feb 2024. When they arrived the new optic attachment for the wireless battery did not work. I then had to send it back and am still waiting on the new optic attachment so, 4 months into the process I still do not have a new working pair of loops. Their lack of customer service and radio silence to my texts is astoundingly disappointing! I would not pick this company again. read more

place sucks . my son had an appointment today . the doctor never introduced herself . didn't talk to me after his exam . after exam 3 people asked if we needed glasses . it seems they just wanna sell you glasses . he also didn't get a thorough exam because they failed to inform him he wouldn't be able to drive after . it was a bullshit visit . thanks for nothing and a waist of time . Worst customer service I've ever experienced. From the second I walked in for my optometry appointment, the employees were nothing but rude and abrasive. I am so thankful to have gone to Design For Vision on a recommendation of a loyal customer. My experience was one of the best customer service experiences I've had. I went in knowing I was on a search for a new pair of glasses but not thinking I'd make the purchase. I was immediately attracted to a black pair of Versace glasses. Upon talking to Jeanine (the manger) about my choice, she went over what looks would best fit my face. She then went to gather around 20 pairs from the store, as well as their back stock to help me find the perfect pair. She then went on to fix my current glasses to have them fall better on my face. Jeanine was nothing but a pleasure to work with. At the end of my visit with her she informed me that I'd have my glasses the next day & I could pick it up at any of their 5 local locations. 5 stars service all the way. read more

Bad product, bad costumer service. I bought Design For Vision loupe and light. When I received my order, the light was a wrong one and the battery did not charge even after eight hours. I had double vision. The loupes were wobbly. The representative told me to move the loupes to and from each other in order to eliminate the double image. The loupe wiggles all the time so even after I readjust it, the double image returns. I emailed and called to see how they can fix it, but the representative never answered. It takes a lot of my time every day as I constantly have to readjust the loupes to eliminate the double vision throughout the day. Lately, the wire became loose, so I emailed a few times to buy a new wire or if necessary, battery and wire. I did not receive a reply. I thought the representative was ignoring me again, so I bought a new light from a different company which cost me a couple hundred dollars. After a while, the representative emailed me and asked what did I want and that she had been on a holiday. Imagine a representative that did not set up an answering machine indicating that she will be out of office. Another issue is that the box they gave is as big as small suitcase, yet it is not practical, as it impossible to fit both the loupe and the light on it inside the box. Another issue, is that they were supposed to write my name on the box, but they did not. read more

I have owned 3 pairs of surgical loupes and matching headlamps. The quality of this company is no longer what they used to be and they down not stand behind their products like they used to. When things go wrong (and they will), you will be left with hefty repair fees (matching a new set of loupes or headlamps of much better manufacturers). After spending $4000 for my last set and experiencing the horrific decline in their products, I have learned my lesson. Stay away from Designs for Vision, Inc. read more

I bought a a $350 pair of glasses at a different store in downtown Philly and they broke a day or 2 after and the Eye glass store in Philly gave me the run around on why they cannot fix them for free... I then went to Design For Vision in Newtown PA and they were more than happy to fix the glasses for me. Since then I have bought 2 pairs of glasses from DFV Newtown and Bob and Janine was both very helpful. Great selection & great customer service! read more

This place...on their website, they claim they accept certain insurance. Well that's just not true. They might bill out, as in out of network, but very few insurance is "in-network". Because of this, your glasses and frames can be astronomical, the 20% off they offer is peanuts. Granted, they do have a good selection of frames. But their false advertising is wrong and off putting. read more

My husband and I had our first experience here about a month ago. The entire staff is plesant & helpful. My husband had to return multiple times to his previous eye doctor because his prescription was incorrect. Our glasses came in yesterday and we are both 100% satisfied with our new vision! My bottom line is you are much better off going to Costco for significant cost savings and better service. I bought a pair of glasses $600-$700 range, the distortion on the progressive lens was significantly worse than what I am accustomed to. Within one week the lens falls out, I go back to the store where the rep spends all of his time explaining why he can't do anything to help me with replacing the lens. Offers nothing encouraging, all efforts are to thwart any idea of we'll fix thins for you, no sorry this happened let's see what I can do. None of that, just we can't do anything for you. Their answer was to replace the set of lenses for $400. My response to the rep was I would go to Costco where that $400 would get me the same glasses, better lenses and if I have any problem they will fix it no questions asked. And the rep was fine with that. No damage control, just good, go away. The proof of service is how you fix a foul up. The response I got from Design for Vision was please spend another $400 or go away. read more

I have very high standards when it comes to glasses and eye wear and design for vision is the cream of the crop no pun intended. I was being helped by a handsome, striking young man by the name of Michael. He's just one of those guys that knows everything about everything it was insane. He was very kind and helpful and got me the right pair of specs that highlighted all the attributes in my face. They have very low prices that will blow your socks off. Everyone was very nice at my appointment and when I picked up my glasses. I returned a few days later to double check the prescription and fit (one eye still seemed a little blurry and the fit was a bit uncomfortable). The optician went back into the room to re-shape the frames and proceeded to talk about me while I was less than 5 feet away. Being very catty and saying well she said they fit fine a few days ago!! Just ignorant and unprofessional after I spent $350 on glasses there. I have taken my business elsewhere since. She made my experience absolutely enjoyable. She found the exact frames I was hoping for and made sure I was 100% completely satisfied. It's rare to find that kind of service but Savanna definitely met or even exceeded expectations. I am absolutely appalled how i was just treated on the phone when inquiring about my daughters glasses. My family all go to Dr Gordeuk and have been for years. I have always has a positive experience with Dr Gordeuk and the staff in the office. We live out of state and still travel to see her. However this will be the last time I come to design for vision. I have never been treated but such rudeness in my life and I work in healthcare for a living. I get people have bad days but to treat a customer who called to inquire about an order that was placed 3 weeks ago the way I was just treated is wrong! My husband and daughter ordered new glasses and I ordered contacts. Was told 2-3 weeks with our insurance, which is fine. Two days later I got a call that my contacts were in. I said okay will will be there the upcoming Friday. ( my husband was off). I had called Thursday to see if his glasses had come in, to make the trip worth it since we are out of state. I was told no. I said okay. thank you. Me thinking no biggie. I knew it would take longer with our insurance. The next day My husband picked up my contacts ( as he was in PA for another appt) and the girl said his glasses were in and had been in for a few days ( no one called). So he picked up his glasses as well. our daughters were not in, so we waited and I decided to call on the 3rd week as it was a weekend and I could make it over to PA. The girl asked the name and I gave that to her and she said hold on, she was very polite. Then a guy gets on the phone and was very rude and aggressive, he said that the glasses came on the 25th and there was a problem and they had to send them back out. I said what was the problem, he told me not to worry about it, it doesn't matter. They weren't wearable. I said ok. He said I know you need them and you have been calling a lot. I was shocked this was the 2nd time I have called. He said to please give until at least Tuesday or Wednesday before I call again. I said ok, thank you. I couldn't believe the way this man was on the phone with a customer. I am appalled. IDK who he was as he didn't state his name but If I recall correctly, he waited on my daughter and his name was Craig, I remember his voice and I will definitely speak my mind when I come back to get the rest of my order. I am a long-time customer of Design for Vision in Newtown. Its a beautiful shop with a great selection of frames in the newest styles as well as the classics. Jeanine has always been superb at helping me to choose the perfect frames for style and fit. She is very knowledgeable about all the latest lenses as well, making sure that my complex prescriptions (progressive lenses with correction for astigmatism) are done in the thinnest, lightest lenses available.
